I don't know why but the default mindset of the Hunters as an organization strikes me as basically the same as the Flame Hazes from Shakugan no Shana. Kill all 'em monsters first and ask questions later doesn't seen very smart when you are so prone to jump the gun as to declare perfectly harmless youkai to be ok to eliminate "if they fail to comply".

This isn't a criticism on the RP, mind you. It's just funny to see.

On an unrelated note, now that we are without a Youkai Hunter I kinda feel disappointed for not making the Kitsune one I thought earlier. Unless of course, I can retcon Isana into being that since the idea was exactly the same as the one I have up now + foxy bits when she doesn't have to worry about being seen by "normal humans".

"I want to see you act like this the next time you ask me to come over and clean your room," Isana said to Shuro after the other girl tried to dismiss her words.

She forgot their bickering in a moment however, after their instructor made their first mission of the semester known. Isana had heard the rumors about the irregular Youkai in the forest, through some of the templegoers. It seemed like it was yet a small business. Hopefully, they could stop it before it escalated into an actual problem.

"There's no need to bother with myself. The there's a train station right next to the nearest entry point of that part of the forest," Isana said.

"Either way, I don't think we should leave each on a whim. At least making sure we have each others' contact would be appropriate."
The return to the bar was an unexpected reprieve for Sherry. As soon as the orange-haired girl found herself back on dry land she found that there was a letter addressed to her waiting over the bar counter. Apparently, it was some kind of invitation which she had to attend urgently.

"Hey, guys, I'm sorry but I guess that I gotta leave for a while. It seems that there's some family business I must deal with. I'll be back as soon as I can," she said as she took the way out, leaving the White Masks with one less member.

However, that wasn't going to last...

As soon as Sherry took her leave, another girl walked into the bar. She had an upbeat smile in her face while she pawed a pouch—clacking with the distinctive sound of gold coins—with a hand.

"Oh, hey! There's a lot of people here this time, you even got a new shopkeeper. Business must be going great, eh Kit Kat?" Clair said as she took a stool at the bar and placed the sack of coins over it. "I'll have one of the usual, please!" she said to the cat girl. Of course, the usual she asked about was nothing other than her favorite pineapple soda float with extra cream and cherry on top.

"Sorry for that, hehe!" Clair said as she turned around to face the other "patrons" while scratching the back of her head shyly. "The name's Clair, the greatest thief in the land. Nice to meet'cha!" she said, leaning against the counter as she waited for her order.

Meanwhile...

"Of course you wouldn't, dear. Harming the shopkeeper isn't going to do you any good, right?" Emilia—who was now wearing a newish-looking outfit—replied to Akiko as she set up shop inside of the left booth, leaving the right one still empty. Thanks to the Tower's mysterious properties the shop was much bigger on the inside than it looked to, or could feasibly, be.

"Now then, how about we set the past behind us?" the Dollmaker said, looking at Kanbaru and Rose. "All of you will find my services very worthy of your time and resources. Not only have I the best potions and trinkets you'll ever find. Furthermore, I can tune, modify, and even trade the cards that are your most beloved treasures."

"And, talking about cards, I have one here for the White Masks. A little token of their adventures through the World of Wasted Dreams. Short as they may have been, and despite not finding what you were meant to, your effort was not in vain," Emilia said as she drew a card from her grimoire and then teleported it in front of both Caprice and Lin.

"Wield her well. Lady Maria is as calm and collected as her undead countenance suggests. But, if you give her a chance, you'll find out that her Pandora's Box holds quite many spicy secrets," Emilia said, introducing the card as if she were an expert on it.

A Magical Girl Adventure

A long time ago, in a world other than our own, there lived a Princess who could breathe life in any stories she ever told. From her lips, world were created, filled with magic, adventure, dragons, and heroes. From the zenith of her crystal spire, she guided her kingdom with grace. Peace and justice lasted for millennia.

All of that changed one day when a Dark Witch tried to usurp the Princess' power. She created a way to seal the Princess' stories in books, binding them to her will. With the power of those books that came to be known as Grimoires, the Witch was able to unleash her rebellion. After sealing the Princess away in her tower, the witch, now turned into a Dark Empress, set out to conquer the many worlds touched by the Princess' tales.

One of these worlds was none other than our very own Earth.

Unknown to the Dark Empress, her armies wouldn't have an easy time conquering this world. A great deal of the Princess' storytelling power blessed these lands, all that was needed to keep it safe were guardians of peace and justice with the power to wield the very same Grimoires that brought forth the Witch's victory many eons ago.

"And who would be better to guide those few chosen ones other than the Princess' most trusted attendant? No one, I tell you! And that's why I, the Magnificent Scheherazade will do that. Fear not, you may not be fit for the job, but I'll ensure you succeed one way or another."

With the enemies encroaching upon the otherwise peaceful Mizukino City, it's only a matter of time until the battle for the world's survival begins.

Character Sheet

Name: Self Explanatory.
Age: Try to keep this between 12 and 17, unless there's a really good explanation involved.
Appearance: No real life images, thank you. Either an image, text description, or both are allowed. Bonus points if you can provide an appearance for your character's magical girl form.
Description: A brief description of your character. This can include bits of personality, backstory, likes and dislikes, etc. Try to keep this as brief but also as flavorful as possible. Think of it like the character description you would read on the back of a DVD/Blu-ray's box for example.
Grimoire: Every magical girl begins her story with one unique grimoire, a mystical story book that somehow found its way into her possession.
Title: While the stories contained in the Grimoires aren't exact 1:1 copies of fairytales and other stories of our world, they are similar enough that you can use them as the basis for the naming and powers granted by the books.
Description: A brief description of the contents of the Grimoire, this is used to Explain its abilities, as well as to add a little more flavor to the choice.
Abilities: What kind of powers, weapons, gear, etc does the Grimoire grant to your character?
Misc: Trivia, theme songs, or anything else not covered above should go here.
"You don't need to worry about that. Mid-Childa style magic isn't lethal, but it doesn't mean it's harmless either. After taking two bombardment spells from point-blank range, I don't think that she's going to wake up anytime soon," Nanoha said to Youmu after being asked about whether or not she had any means of keeping the fish girl unconscious.

"And, if she wakes up and begins to cause trouble again..."

"Anyway, I guess that it's better to check the other reading now?" Nanoha asked as she ascertained that the other signal she picked up earlier continued to be stationary.

Things were getting pretty hectic pretty fast. Apparently, someone on HQ decided to allow the trigger happy guys to have it their way. Thankfully, there were no civilians around who could get hurt but there was still the problem of one of their comrades being in the GMG's grip—and Akari being right under her feet—when they decided to unleash hell.

"Well, I guess that I'll have to—Hey, what the!?" the young redheaded girl yelled as soon as buffeting winds, dust, and debris obscured her vision momentarily. However, from this close, she was able to see a blurry silhouette disappear into the same subway tunnels Akari used to arrive here, along with Utena.

"So, that's it huh?" Akari thought as she braced herself against the winds.

A moment later, after being asked whether or not anyone had seen what happened to the monster girl and Utena, Akari said over the radio, "Nope, I didn't see anything with all this dust here. Anyway, I'll be looking around and see if I can find anything on my end," before stepping into the subway.

Being this close to the action it didn't take long for Akari to find where Utena and a mysterious girl who kinda looked like the monster girl from before, in a way, were. She observed them silently, hidden behind a corner, noticing as Utena began to make her way away after whispering something to the green-haired girl.

Isana sighed and relaxed her shoulders as more and more of her peers began to filter into the room, at least until Shuro made herself known. Trying to instill a sense of discipline on them was going to be pointless but Isana was going to let a hooligan like Shuro get the best of her.

"Fine. I'll do it myself, then. I'll come early tomorrow and do it during the morning if I have to," she said as she realized that trying to clean this place while there were so many uncooperative people around wasn't going to work. Waking up early and coming to clean the room wasn't going to be a chore for her.

After giving up on her ideas of ordering the place, Isana took the seat at Shuro's side. "Don't think you've won just because of that. I just don't want to inconvenience anyone, if they aren't going to help," she said in a begrudging voice before turning around to face their instructor wondering how long he would wait until he spoke something.

"I'm calm, y'know. It's not my fault if people take everything as an offense these days," Thea replied to a voice well known to her without even needing turn around to ascertain that it was indeed Kenji there. Perhaps it was the power of a well-balanced relationship, who knows? "Anyway, you don't need to go around spewing stuff about us in public to break the ice. I'm not going to chew these lame LARPer's heads out or anything like this," she said just as Xander was about to leave them.

The grin in her face, however, told everything Kenji needed to know. The night was sure going to be busy...

On the following afternoon, Thea waited for the arrival of the undead hordes in the Scourger's gathering spot while listening to a few climatic songs. Along with her, there was a good portion of the Red Guild, all of them eager to have some proper fun.

"Listen up everyone!" she said as she took the frontline and raised her gun overhead. "Let's throw in a little bet to make things more interesting. If any of you get a score higher than mine, I'll go on a date with whoever gets the most points today. But if no one does it, y'all will have to treat me to a night at the city's fanciest steakhouse!" Thea, or rather Graphite yelled with a savage grin stamped on her face.

As expected of the Scourgers, the declaration from their overly aggressive, almost bandit princess-like, Deputy set them on fire, despite it actually being a bet where Thea had nothing to lose regardless of the outcome.

And just as Thea finished fanning the flames of her guild, the night's honor guests made themselves known in a rather striking fashion.

"Woah, so cool! I was expecting a buncha shambling corpses but this is way cooler. Very well, then... Scourgers... LET'S GIVE 'EM HELL!"

And, just as she shouted, Graphite was the first to charge at the enemy, closing the distance to the first of them while using a combination of her shields and hard cover to avoid any damage. As soon as she was almost at melee range she charged in even harder, skidding to a halt with her gun right in the zombie's face and...

"Hey, that's not fair! Cool, but not fair," she complained as the created dodged a zero-range shot, bending backward like some sort of twisted gymnast before trying to retaliate with a backflip kick and a hail of gunfire.

"Sadly for you, I know some cool moves too!" Thea shouted as she crouched, bracing herself against the kick, before stepping forward, hitting the enemy in the chest with her elbow, followed up with an immediate blast which was avoided when the zombie used his rifle to throw Graphite's shotgun off its mark, and she followed up with kick to the inner side of his knee, and...

So, they began their battle of gun kata. This was really going to be much cooler than Thea expected it to be.

As it turns out, Isana would be the next one to arrive at the appointed room, coming in as soon as she was done with her regular class duties for the day. Her arrival didn't have any matter of flare or pizzazz to it, just the dull sound of well-mannered, somewhat graceful footsteps hitting the creaking the floorboards until she made her way in, after making her presence known with a knock on the old semi-derelict door.

As soon as she came in, she bowed respectfully as her eyes darted through the other occupants of the room. One them was clearly their instructor, and the other one of her peers, who didn't strike a good first impression for her—evidenced by the sharp glare she threw at him—given his delinquent-like attire and behavior.

"I'm Isana Fujiwara, it's an honor to be under your presence," she said, introducing herself in a curt, yet polite way.

"I take it that you are our instructor, right mister Kazama? I'm honored to have the opportunity to learn from such a distinguished member of our community."

"Before we proceed, or anyone else arrives, would you allow us to begin cleaning this room? It's unbefitting to conduct our activities in such an unorganized space," Isana asked, volunteering both herself and the other student for the task without even asking for his opinion. After all, cleaning up and maintaining the rooms was the least responsibility a student had to bother with.
