Edit: Double post.
Here's some of my progress on the roleplay-list view for mobile-sized devices: - I took @clark's advice and inlined the join-status next to the tabs and also to switched the color of "Full" away from red since it's really the green "open" statuses I want to emphasize. - People often said that the "Latest post" links were hard to click, so I turned them into buttons. Still working on all the views. I'll push it up soon. My goal is to get it "good enough" and push it up so that small tweaks/polish don't hold me up for eternity.Could we implement those buttons on the subscription page as well?
I was wondering, @Mahz, you know what would make me go here more? A SEARCH ENGINE! It's a great idea, honestly. And sort of the reason why Iwaku is becoming a threat. Some other people may have mentioned this, but I wanted to express my support on this matter. That was one of the primary reasons tags were developed. A search function is very much in progress.
<Snipped quote by NuttsnBolts> omfg. If I had known it was so bad I would've done this weeks ago. Started making some progress. It isn't bad at all on my device. Actually, back before GuildFall, I specifically switched to desktop because the mobile version at the time was inconvenient for me, and ever since, the Guild has been one of the most mobile-friendly desktop sites I've seen.
If we can disable notifications, then they kind of lose their function... The ratings notifications might be a bit uninformative for some, but in most other cases, notifications are supposed to be (or in my vision they are, in any case) the "summon person" buttons that you use somewhat sparingly, but which certainly are a convenient and useful tool. Hence, I'd rather have a system that makes you make an extra move or two to specifically notify someone over one in which you'd have to resort to PMing people old-school style because the person turned notifications off after receiving eighty-seven when they left for a family vacation for the weekend. There are many people (not unlike myself) who never read their notifications anyway. Personally, I never miss reading a post on threads I'm subscribed to, so the notifications become superfluous. Others simply won't care enough to check them, and not allowing anyone to disable them won't change the fact that they won't check them. Making the option available won't cause it to happen more frequently, and virtually every other site with notifications has the ability to customize which notifications you'd like to receive.
*Stalks Ellri* I would love to have a few tags relating to whether or not an RP is open or not. Open | Closed | Looking | Closing With the last two as little extra helpers. Would be nice to help a few people out and see "Oh, hey look, they need some help!" or if they're closing, "Quick! Jump in before it's too late!" sort of thing. Most of us on this thread agree that the tags are needed, but Ellri suggested some oyhers that could potentially clutter them.
Again, the double tap issue doesn't seem to be mobile-specific but device-specific. I personally disagree with avoiding doing things just because a specific device (so far you are the only one to have your problem IIRC), but I guess that isn't really my decision to make.Someone else had it earlier. However, I am on an iPhone, running the latest version of iOS 8, and quite a few people have this.
