Togrash
"Are you sure you're ready? You've only just healed from the last job!"Togrash's face twisted into a grimace as the words of Regen Chamber medic's words echoed back in his head. It was true to the last word; the second part that was. The Capsa-jin had pushed himself harder during his squad's prior mission, and expended himself more than he usually did, which was saying more than a lot. The Kyandi rebels had been a hassle to deal with, and the heated reptilian had matched that tenacity with ferocity of his own. Such was his fighting there that he had spent the entirety of the transit to Pastara in a healing pod.
In defiance of the urging of the medics, Togrash had made haste to armor up and seat himself in his attack pod. He had, of course, overheard them as he came to: "A power level of 1,200." That had eclipsed, ever so slightly, his own squad leader. As far as he was concerned, if Rhubari was set to go, so was he. He scoffed loudly as the pod broke Pastara's atmosphere, relishing as the vessel caught the heat upon entry.
Moments later, the pod crashed down. The jarring sound of metal tearing through metal told him the landing strategy had worked, and they had smashed a Pastarian tank. This would, naturally, only be the beginning.
Togrash's pod door clicked and opened to a cluster of footsoldiers. A squadron of five amphibious warriors trained their spears upon him as he rose from his seat. He stretched and cracked his back and neck quickly... he never had cared much for the cramped pods. With little to telegraph it, he launched a ki blast, charring the Pastarian squad leader before the eyes of his soldiers.
Undeterred, and in fact, invigorated by the sudden loss of their leader, the remaining four soldiers charged forth.
Moving quickly, Togrash dodged to his left, evading on the outside of a spear thrust. Grasping the shaft of the spear, he leveraged the momentum of his attacker to hurl him into his comrades. The four warriors became dominoes, falling over in succession as each body slammed into to next. Amid the collapsing, a single spear came loose and fell to the ground close to Togrash's feet. He scooped up the weapon for himself as he pursued his enemies, driving through the first one to rise with one of its own mechanations. He whipped his tail around, knocking away a third before knocking away the remains spears, and engaging the remaining two in hand-to-hand combat.
And they didn't think I'd be ready to go.
