Bio

Not born in a log cabin, I came into the RPing venture around 2009 and quickly joined about twenty roleplays more than I should have at the time. I've been around the internet in that time span, participated in and run RPs on multiple forums, and brushed shoulders with a wide variety of players and characters. Getting to work with new people has always been part of the allure of the experience.

My interests in RPing are pretty diverse, and not genre-specific; if there's room at the table and I can think of a dish to serve, I'll cook something up for just about any meal. If you know what I mean.

Alright. Looks like we're good. As Pia and VV sprinted past him, D dropped the then emptied gun and followed them a few paces behind. They covered an impressive distance, all things considered. D's hopes swelled in believing they were finally on their way out.

But his optimism was premature. Just as it seemed they were in the clear, with the soldiers dropped behind them, some injured by D's insurance fire, a jolt hit would-be escapees. D felt the shock drive though his flesh and bone and pulsate in his chest. Even though he held up for a second or two longer than VV, Pia, and A, he collapsed just the same. Unable to move, he lay upon the cold floor, fighting to find a shred of mobility to retaliate with. A furious scowl was the only movement he could muster as his newfound strength failed. He let out a low, soft groan.

The voices of the soldiers dulled and faded; D's vision went dark as the paralysis stole him from consciousness. He would barely feel the net entrapping him as his body numbed.

Sound and sight steadily returned. D shuddered and lurched when he felt a pair of hands press against and shake him. Through a blurred gaze and distorted hearing, he made out VV, making rounds to wake him and the others. He rushed to his feet, dizzying himself as he came up too fast. As his vision returned to form, he took in the space they had been left in... small, with only way viable way in and out; no comforts or amenities either. "Whatever this place is, they sure as fuck don't want us to feel at home here."

Seek me, my child.

"Ugh." D pressed against his temples as pounding feeling passed fleetingly through his head. "Experiments," he said, speaking to everyone, but looking away towards the door. "That's what I heard one of the soldiers say... Who's to say we ever did anything? Maybe there was nothing before we climbed out of those pods." He only half believed what he was saying; the flash of a memory he had had earlier crept in through the back of his mind. He walked towards the door. "We won't find out anything if we just sit here though." He wound up a fist, and slammed it into the steel door. "Shit!" He recoiled a bruised knuckle, and began shaking the pain off. Whether it was the door being stronger or him being weakened by the purple shock, he wasn't sure, but his force wasn't enough to even dent the door. "Guess that's out of the question! Anyone else got an idea?"
Do we know of our friend's status?
@Silver Carrot, @Wayward, how are your posts coming along?

If not in the next day or two, this coming Wednesday ivd got a day off, with 0 plans. So I can get something up then.
I wasn't sure. I mean, cuz canonically, the scouter would pick up the large power levels, but I was trying to get them to split and each one of the warriors were gonna fight two of us. They were gonna probably have power levels around 2500-3000, so it's definitely not something any of our characters could handle alone lol

I figured it'd be likely that they could mask their full power, as is the Achilles Heel of scouters not being entirely reliable.
Posted. Hope it's okay that I had the scouter pick up the Pastaran warriors.
Togrash

The two Pastarans rushed in tandem. But Togrash was prepared, and blocked both strikes simultaneously, catching their fists in the palms of his hands. "Trivial.". He tightened his fists, crushing the fists of the hapless Pastaran footsoldiers. With a rush of force, he pulled the pair in towards each other; the pair knocked against each other and stumbled back in a daze. A collection of Ki amassed, flowing through the Capsa-jin's right arm. The air around the orange-red glow rippled as heat emitted from it. Togrash thrust the energized arm forth, unleashing a fire-like stream of energy upon his disoriented adversaries.

When the wave came to pass, the pair was left a heap of unrecognizable tar.

"They tried to hold me, he spoke back to Gezoto. But my power is sufficient for this. He pressed the communicator switch on his scouter and replied to Rhubari. "I don't hold back; you know that. He quickly stopped a trio of tanks with a Scorch Dome and followed suit with his leader, flying to the city and commencing to clear the structures nearest to him.

He was preparing to dismantle a battlement when his scouter alerted him to the approach of power levels higher than the troops he and his squad had been dealing with until that point. He stopped in his own tracks, pinpointing the direction from which the powers were coming. "We have higher powers incoming. I'm moving to intercept." He ascended, and made a beeline towards the far end of the city, evading blaster fire from the ground below and nearby rooftops.

According to the read of his scouter, the pair of powers en route to the city, while formidable together, would be manageable for him alone; it was just the kind of challenge he needed.
Seeing as I'm the common denominator in the hold up, I'll have a post up tonight.
Just checking in with everyone! No rush on posts, but everyone still interested?

Yeah. I'm still interested
Quick question: are all of our characters allowed the ability to fly via ki as a default?
Togrash

"Are you sure you're ready? You've only just healed from the last job!"

Togrash's face twisted into a grimace as the words of Regen Chamber medic's words echoed back in his head. It was true to the last word; the second part that was. The Capsa-jin had pushed himself harder during his squad's prior mission, and expended himself more than he usually did, which was saying more than a lot. The Kyandi rebels had been a hassle to deal with, and the heated reptilian had matched that tenacity with ferocity of his own. Such was his fighting there that he had spent the entirety of the transit to Pastara in a healing pod.

In defiance of the urging of the medics, Togrash had made haste to armor up and seat himself in his attack pod. He had, of course, overheard them as he came to: "A power level of 1,200." That had eclipsed, ever so slightly, his own squad leader. As far as he was concerned, if Rhubari was set to go, so was he. He scoffed loudly as the pod broke Pastara's atmosphere, relishing as the vessel caught the heat upon entry.

Moments later, the pod crashed down. The jarring sound of metal tearing through metal told him the landing strategy had worked, and they had smashed a Pastarian tank. This would, naturally, only be the beginning.

Togrash's pod door clicked and opened to a cluster of footsoldiers. A squadron of five amphibious warriors trained their spears upon him as he rose from his seat. He stretched and cracked his back and neck quickly... he never had cared much for the cramped pods. With little to telegraph it, he launched a ki blast, charring the Pastarian squad leader before the eyes of his soldiers.

Undeterred, and in fact, invigorated by the sudden loss of their leader, the remaining four soldiers charged forth.

Moving quickly, Togrash dodged to his left, evading on the outside of a spear thrust. Grasping the shaft of the spear, he leveraged the momentum of his attacker to hurl him into his comrades. The four warriors became dominoes, falling over in succession as each body slammed into to next. Amid the collapsing, a single spear came loose and fell to the ground close to Togrash's feet. He scooped up the weapon for himself as he pursued his enemies, driving through the first one to rise with one of its own mechanations. He whipped his tail around, knocking away a third before knocking away the remains spears, and engaging the remaining two in hand-to-hand combat.

And they didn't think I'd be ready to go.
