When RSD got you double checking that you haven't had any negative interactions with people before joining RP.

Bio

Not born in a log cabin, I came into the RPing venture around 2009 and quickly joined about twenty roleplays more than I should have at the time. I've been around the internet in that time span, participated in and run RPs on multiple forums, and brushed shoulders with a wide variety of players and characters. Getting to work with new people has always been part of the allure of the experience.

My interests in RPing are pretty diverse, and not genre-specific; if there's room at the table and I can think of a dish to serve, I'll cook something up for just about any meal. If you know what I mean.

I can make a recruitment thread in the interest check section, for sure. Maybe we'll 'find' some survivors outside that can help us...

I'll have something up today or tomorrow for that.

Edit: Actually, on top of that, I would like to remake the thread so I can control it entirely. How do you both feel about moving to a new thread, @Qia, @Wayward?

I'd probably call it part 2...

I'd say we finish up the part we're on now and then get a new thread up and running.

Maybe get a Discord going?
Hey. So are we considering this RP open to new players? Or just moving forward with the three of us?
I'm interested.

Are you open to integrating subplots where the 'players' interact outside of the game world?
D

D huffed and scoffed at the scientist. His eyes darted rapidly beteen the guards. His inner voice beckoned "Try me!" Earlier, a challenge might have paid off. Whatever the goons had done to do him in the last time wouldn't work when... or if... his surge of strength rediscovered him. But for the time being, the device the soldiers had used continued to dull that power. D hoped it was just temporary; he was starting to worry that the whole thing had been a fluke caused by adrenaline or something, and the lingering throb in his fist stood in testament to that. He dropped his arms loosely to his side and nodded, first to VV and then to the scientists.

They had all, for what it was worth, survived the previous experiments done on them. There was no reason for D to suspect any different; it was evident that they meant more to the scientist alive than dead. He followed into the D-Wing, past veiled gurneys and closed operating rooms. He landed compliantly upon an operating table before the anesthesia lowered him into the dark of sleep.

You belong to me.

D awoke upon a metal gurney, still cold despite the fact that he had seemingly been upon it for some time. His head throbbed in sharp pain as the vision returned to his eyes. The scene his eyes opened to echoed that which he had seen under anesthesia. Had he died? He knew that couldn't be it; how would he be here if he had?

He felt a single droplet running from his eye and along his cheek as he turned his head in towards the others. He made to wipe the tear from his face, finding his arm reach just short as it pulled against the chain and cuff that restrained him; his was considerably thicker than that of the other, meaning the labcoats were aware of his strength. "Fuck!" He breathed out the barely audible curse, twisting his hand into a more comfortable position.

He became aware of the nurse sitting at the center of the quad of gurneys. The nurse went on about some dark, hooded figure they were deal with. VV sounded unsure if they could, and A protested. D let out a half-chuckle. "Well," he said, waving a restrained hand. "If it gets us off these slabs, and some time out of this shithole, I say, why not?" He gazed a full circle around to VV, A, and Pia, his expression one of reassurance. He settled onto the woman between them. "I'm in."
Will post tonight. Was busy outdoors over the weekend.
Cait skimmed through her menu as Vincent mused about ditching the states. The thought had crossed her mind just before she joined him a few states back. Crossing the Atlantic seemed like a pipe dream. Canada was enticing, though she preferred not to venture there if only for the fact that it would mean having to endure winter at some point; she'd only use Canada as a stepping stone to go elsewhere. She nodded in silent agreement when Anita suggested counting it out as an option.

She made a second nod before looking to the server. "I'll just have the chicken tenders and fries. Ranch dressing on the side... and a sweet tea for a drink... and waters for the table please." She handed him the menu and turned back to Vincent.

"We'll need some money if we're gonna get out of the States." She spoke matter-of-factly. Her left hand drifted to her pocket, where her wallet was tucked in a closed zipper. She had pulled most of her savings before she bailed from California; it was best to do it first, so They wouldn't be able to pin her movements across the country through card swipes. It was still fat and full, as she had been meticulous about not spending unless it was for food and water. She had to make it last as best she could. "And by a little, I mean a lot. Especially if we're gonna try to cross the ocean. Moreso if we want pay under the table... which we probably should." Cait had made good on her resolve to not leave an electronic footprint, and she wasn't about to back down from that.

She leaned back and stretched her back against the booth seat. "I say, if we're gonna make tracks to another country, we dip to Mexico."
I'm interested
Hey there all. So I have been thinking of my first post.

idea 1 was simply having my character maybe already at the current town before the crew arrived into it.

Idea 2 was arriving after you guys have, either driving her own vehicl or by coach drop off? (not sure if you all planned on the road trip with just one vehicle or not?)

Idea 3, she was already with the group, just maybe was so tired that she somehow slept in the back or something lol, please let me know what you all think, want to get in without disrupting to much that has already happened.

1 or 2 works best narratively speaking since it's in writing that there were four in the truck at the start. I'm predicting, based on minor details, that we'll be having a run-in with the Classified Crew soon enough. So a skirmish gives us a good context in which to link up, IMO.
@Eviledd1984

I made 4 professors and if need be i will also make a few students.

I can pitch a second student
"Oh..."

Cait took the joint back from Anita; she offered to Vincent a second time, but withdrew after he declined. She took a second hit before snuffing out the end and pocketing it alongside the lighter.

She turned to Cleo and returned a nod of understanding and trust; the Fae-person was more in tune nature than she, as a human felt capable of being.

She looked longingly at the board by her feet as she stood up. It had been a few days since she had ridden it; the wear and tear and weeks without repair had left it both unsafe, and unrepairable if she overdid, which was more than likely since she had been prone to making up for lost time since joining with Vince's crew. A closer look at the town around them told her they'd be lucky to find much more than the diner and maybe a bar around town. She'd have to wait until they came to a larger town or a proper city before she'd get the board back to form.

She shrugged, sighed, and climbed out from the bed of the truck, sliding gently down the side until her feet touched the ground. Jogging a short way, she caught up with Cleo and Anita and followed them to the diner. "I think you gotta go more north to see the corn fields," she said, pitching a response to Anita. "Kansas, Nebraska." Her stomach grumbled. "Yeah. Food first," she agreed, and entered diner where Vincent had already claimed a seat.

Stepping around Cleo, she seated herself in the booth across from Vince. "I imagine," she said, "if he wanted to be alone, he wouldn't be letting three other people ride cross-country in his truck. Just a guess." She gestured for Cleo to join. "Besides, it wouldn't hurt to plan where we're headed to next."
