Bio

Not born in a log cabin, I came into the RPing venture around 2009 and quickly joined about twenty roleplays more than I should have at the time. I've been around the internet in that time span, participated in and run RPs on multiple forums, and brushed shoulders with a wide variety of players and characters. Getting to work with new people has always been part of the allure of the experience.

My interests in RPing are pretty diverse, and not genre-specific; if there's room at the table and I can think of a dish to serve, I'll cook something up for just about any meal. If you know what I mean.

At a glance, this town seems in need of an official Inn/Tavern

Are we allowed to play as prison guards?
Finally got a moment to sit down.

Office ladies where I work pissed off a customer so they have been worried for days that they are going to come into the office and start drama, so they have had everyone they can sitting at the office ALL DAY.

I'm not paid enough to be security...

Working on a post now.

RIP your sanity.
How we doing?
@Little Bird I'm going to go ahead limb and say 93rd Street won't be negotiated.

It's okay. Good luck with your endeavors, Little Bird.

@Yankee I forsee at least two, maybe three scenes/collabs with your spies. I'll add them in my post. Looking forward to your sheets!

@evierose The NPC's look great, approved

@Qia Sounds good regarding the collab with Lana, I can't wait to see it. :>

If that's so, then I request you simply play it as though I were never here. At least want the dignity of wiping myself from the map on my own terms.
@Little Bird Nothing is going to change the fact that Merryland is being invaded, and that it's likely 93rd Street will also be invaded.

Here are your options:

1) Defend your territory like everyone else.

2) Leave the roleplay.

I will not be discussing this further with you. We have been very patient the past few days, but enough is enough. Any attempts to continue talking about this, and I will have you removed myself.

Barring an opportunity to negotiate over 93rd w/ out a fight, I'm probably best off dropping.

I thought I'd be up for it, but I doubt my headspace can handle the competitive edge on this scale. Not in the long term.
For someone playing so passively... it's definitely and so passive to be sneaking right into a mafia leaders den. Also, dude, you keep complaining about absolutely everything if it doesn't look to be going exactly the way you want. You have complained about multiple things at this point, trying to get people to bend to your will, and you keep making contradictory statements. I'm sorry but it's quite annoying. I've been trying to hold my tongue about it but you just did it again.

Complain. Complain. Complain. But your characters are doing exactly what you are complaining about that others are saying they might possibly do to you.

You never once said "Hey Sav, I am going to have someone sneak into your base. What does your skyscraper layout look like? How do you want this to go man? What is the outcome we both want to get to this," you just did it though you are demanding that you have a decision on outcomes because it's your characters and your territory. Hypocritical and childish.

And I don't care if this gets me in trouble with everyone else and upsets you. I am okay with those consequences.

Sylvia is on the street. Not in the tower. When/If the skirmish enters the tower I'm pulling her out of Nickel; sneaking into the tower would be a point of no return without question, especially given the circumstance. If she did go in I'd have her do so openly and align with Krish, partly because a rogue party throwing bombs around boads ill for everyone, and partly because it *might* make dealings with Asterion less complicated if she stepped in to help. If the latter is serviceable to you I can go that route. Otherwise I'm leaving that situation be and getting an NPC back to Yellow Brick while Glyde deals with things in Merryland.

Hailey has become of more interest to her at this point than her original goal, which was go in and get a feel for Asterion's intent. I was looking to get a valid reason for Glyde to know of Asterion's interest in 93rd street.

I have another NPC on a diplomatic venture to hopefully head off any future tensions with Iron Rose.

A third was sent to find insight into the Order, although that one getting brought back because someone has to let Glyde know that Merryland is about to get a lot less Merry.

In terms of seizing territory, if the situation were reversed, I'd be open to the idea of throwing an early-game battle. Failing to take a territory is less skin off my back than someone potentially losing ground. Seeing everyone fully realize their board is more interesting to me; it's more exciting that way.
If it makes you feel better Little Bird, on the opening post there is even this note:

<Snipped quote>
If you don't want to give up territory, simply don't surrender. Of course there may be penalties after the fact, but as far as how I'm interpreting the "rules" you don't have to worry about suddenly losing ground if you don't want to/don't think it fits the story. But as mentioned before, suddenly finding themselves under attack is a good way to develop the RP and the group's relationship to the story at large. Will they deal with themselves and remain isolated? Reach out to local PD for assistance? Cut a deal with mafia groups to force the Order to retreat? It's a good way to flesh out how your character will react to the situation.

And yeah, like Savant mentioned many characters are already being targeted by others. Invading territory was going to happen regardless.

If not for the underlying board game element declaring that I either defend or lose territory I'd honestly be content to ignore the Order and let them operate there. Sharing is caring. Plus 3 poor districts can't keep up in direct conflict with others, so I'd prefer to play as passively as I can until I'm built up where I am or have the resources to expand. A less aggressive play style in the short term behooves me.

I'm also inclined to let the conquest and resource management aspects takeva back seat in favor of developing the narrative and immersing into the characters and setting.
You take it one fight at a time. Nocturnal is PvP-focused. It's just like fighting the entity in GirlieGoBoom's role-play, and it's just like you're fighting me. You're good at fighting, and I think you can manage this.

The entity was designed to be defeated as part of the story progression. PvP against players that are actually trying to beat you, with no thought for cooperation is a different business. You've encouraged collaboration, so I'm seeking collaboration on this. Predeteriming combat events is a valid collaborative practice.

If you want this to be pure PvP, then why not have it moved to the Arena?
I just want to write, to RP, to collaborate, and to make a story happen. I don't want to get overly aggressive or competitive about it.

I'm not sure how I'm supposed to take 3-4 people targeting me IC.
