Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

MF&P #6 - Colours

Despair

Black, like his pupils. They were dark and pierced through me. It didn’t matter what color his eyes were. It was the undiscovered universe behind them. It was the mysterious darkness that looked at me. It was like the color of this room. Completely and utterly pitch black.

I opened my eyes and studied the shadows of the silence. All I saw was black, like a void, trying to swallow me. My sheets were reassurance that I was still alive, still breathing, still lying in the stiff, sanitized bed in a hospital room.

Father Sergius is scheduled to visit me today. He will arrive with his black cassock and black briefcase and his black shoes. He will open his briefcase and pull out his cross and a few other holy things. He will caress his black prayer rope with his fingers. He will ask what is on my mind, what is ailing me.

What will I say? It’s all around me. It caresses my skin, yet I cannot feel it. It holds me tight but never touches me. It folds me into the very heart of my sin. It leaves me empty and cold. Yet, no matter how close I am to the darkness, it never leads me to him.

All I have are memories of him. I can watch them. I can hear them. I can replay them over and over. They are a part of me, and yet I am not a part of them.

How can I keep searching in the darkness for his mysterious universe? No matter how close I get to the darkness, it will never be close enough to see him again. However, I must not lose hope, Father Sergius, even if it kills me.

Welcome to the Voting and Feedback round for MFP#6!

Voting and Feedback guidelines
  • Please take your time to read through all the entries before voting for your favourite work. The reasons you base your vote on are up to you, as long the vote isn’t based on whether or not you like the author.
It would be nice if you could share why you voted for a specific work.
  • Giving feedback is optional but highly encouraged. When giving feedback you should be respectful and constructive. It’s good to point out any flaws or the things you feel could be improved or why you didn't like something, but don’t be mean.
Make sure to point out what you liked or what appreciated in the entry too.
  • Contestants may (and are encouraged to) vote and/or give feedback for the other entries but shouldn’t vote for their own entry. If contestants wish to withhold a vote and only give feedback, that is good too.
  • The entries are anonymous unless the writer asked for having their name added. That being said, writers may claim their work at any time during or after the voting period.
  • The entry with the most votes will win, but in case of a tie a Contest Mod will cast the tie-breaker vote.
  • You can vote for entries and post your feedback in this thread, but if you rather have your vote and/or feedback be anonymous you can PM it to @Calle.
  • The voting period deadline is July 29th, 9:00 CET, which is 7:00 server time (both times are in a.m.).

The Entries

This contest is now closed for new entries.

The voting and feedback thread will be created today.
3 days before the deadline and 2 entries so far.
Michael put a hand on Missy's back. "Don't go there," he told her. "They know what they are doing."
With his other hand he stroke Eros's fur; the poor thing seemed frightened by what was going on. He turned his attention on the struggle again - he wasn't paying much attention to Soul and Sparky, he wanted to see how Niccia was doing. At least she was alive, he hoped Arceus wouldn't harm her more than he already had.

The moment Necrozoma grabbed Luna and smalled her to the ground, Bear jumped up to Low Kick the arm with which he held Luna's body. He had been itching to do something and that had been a moment for action, not thinking.

Ra roared in anger and was about to attack Necrozoma when the Primape moved in with his attack. That moment of having to hold back for a split second made him reconsider his first plan and instead gathered all his light energy and releases it at once. He could hurt Luna and the Primeape with his Flash Canon, but it would weaken Necrozoma, who would get the worst of the hit if he aimed it right.

Nethan reached the scene when Ra unleashed his Flash Canon and he covered his eyes from the bright light as the attack left him. He noticed more Legendaries had turned to the gate now and approached. Surely they could handle Necrozoma together; he was just alone and they were with many.
"There's no reason to assume the worst," Chiyoko replied calmly, with an amused sound to her voice. "Study you, yes. I think they will do that. Kill you? No. Only if you are a threat. And even then I think they will feel a little remorse for killing you because they knew you when you were human." She gracefully reached down to pick up the cup. "They won't feel that for killing me, but I can't blame them. I will feel no remorse for killing any of them either. And trust me, I will try to kill them at the first opportunity." Despite her dark words, she smiled a friendly smile as she handed Rose her now empty cup.

"They didn't give us the official reason," Ethan explained. "Just that the base was compromised. They never said by who or how, just that we had to leave. The mansion is still there if you want to go back, but the agency has probably abandoned it by now."
Was Harriet always this light? He wasn't sure, but he hadn't helped her up before either. Either way, she seemed capable to stand on her legs. "Can you walk?" he asked her.

Agent Morison cleared his throat to get their attention. "It's scheduled for demolition to get rid of all the evidence we were ever there." He turned to Harriet. "If you have personal things to pick up, you should do that now. The scheduled demolition will happen soon."
"Gas leak, huh," agent Barrow added as he brought a cigarette to his lips. "The most common explanation. I suppose they will burn anything they want to dispose of at the same time."
