Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

"Almost there," agent Morrison replied. "You'll be able to see it soon."

Ethan didn't respond to the mention of Gaia liking him, and he certainly didn't feel like admitting he thought he had heard her a few times. Sure, Harriet would know if that was that link she talked about, but he didn't know Harriet that well. Not well enough to discuss personal shit with. Least of all about whether or not he liked a dragon lady or if the dragon lady liked him.
For him to consider someone a friend, that took time. He appreciated Harriet; she was strong and kind and good colleague. Nothing more.

The car slowed down and agent Barrow pushed on the key to open the gate. It opened as it should.
The building behind it was dark; the lights were out. It was evacuated from the human agents, but who knew what was here.
"Everyone, be on the lookout," agent Morrison instructed as he parked the car. He decided not to drive over the gravel, it would draw too much attention to them.
Benjamin went to the door so he could see Ray. "Why would I laugh at you?" he asked. "I only wanted to see how you are doing."
There was a look of concern on his face as watched her lying on the floor. She didn't sound good, but the slurring was probably due to the sedative. Despite the sedative, she seemed aware and angry, which wasn't good.

A part of him wanted to believe Ray wouldn't hurt him, but he had to admit he'd rather not go inside and be locked in with Ray in her current state. Being locked in somewhere was never a preferable option, but he feared she might still be hostile, even to him.
"I can't speak for her," Michael replied, "nor can I give an informed answer. But from my point of view, this should have been communicated before it had happened, not surprise her with it during a party. From what I gathered, Gavin was not happy about it, and both were surprised by it."
He showed a smile when Niccia seemed instinctively protective of the egg. Well, it was of her kind after all.

"You should rest," Andy said, not accepting or refusing the apology as he felt it wasn't his place to do so. He hadn't been harmed in any way and no-one had died. Although at this point it wasn't certain that wouldn't still happen. Instead he watched what Kyio was doing.

Harcu mirrored the look of his sister and nodded when she requested to speak to him. This human seemed somewhat capable of looking after their father, as much as humans were able to do such a task, and walked away so they could talk in peace. Malamar Ink. He mused about it for a moment before turning to Kyio. "Malamar Ink," he repeated out loud.

Ra frowned as he thought about the words. "I'm sorry to hear that, brother," he said eventually. "If we can help..." he began and then he glanced in the direction of Michael. "Well, there are humans here. Maybe they can be of more assistance than we can be. I don't mingle with humans more than absolutely necessary."
Thank you all for voting, and good job contestants!

Welcome to the Voting and Feedback round for MFP#8!

Voting and Feedback guidelines

  • Please take your time to read through all the entries before voting for your favourite work. The reasons you base your vote on are up to you, as long the vote isn’t based on whether or not you like the author.
It would be nice if you could share why you voted for a specific work.
  • Giving feedback is optional but highly encouraged. When giving feedback you should be respectful and constructive. It’s good to point out any flaws or the things you feel could be improved or why you didn't like something, but don’t be mean.
Make sure to point out what you liked or what appreciated in the entry too.
  • Contestants may (and are encouraged to) vote and/or give feedback for the other entries but shouldn’t vote for their own entry. If contestants wish to withhold a vote and only give feedback, that is good too.
  • The entries are anonymous unless the writer asked for having their name added. That being said, writers may claim their work at any time during or after the voting period.
  • The entry with the most votes will win, but in case of a tie a Contest Mod will cast the tie-breaker vote.
  • You can vote for entries and post your feedback in this thread, but if you rather have your vote and/or feedback be anonymous you can PM it to @Calle.
  • The voting period deadline is December 30th, 9:00 CET, which is 8:00 server time (both times are in a.m.).

The Entries

Deadline is over and there are 3 entries in total.

Benjamin didn't answer the question yet. Yes, he wanted to go back there. Being locked inside all day was terrible. But, he wasn't sure if it was worth the risk. If he wasn't supposed to be there, he and Sara could get in trouble for it. It was a dilemma, but at least it was one he didn't have to solve immediately, as they reached the place where Ray was locked up.

"I was told we could be allowed to see other patients when they are here," he said, gesturing to the door. "It helps us realize what can happen if we don't take our pills, and it may help the other patient to get a grip on reality again. So, because of this, I wanted to know if you would allow me to see how Ray is doing."
Ethan gave Harriet an incredulous look when she said the other two could defend themselves.
"Sure, you can join us. I don't think they'll have something against it." He watched through the window at this side. "You're wrong though, about them being able to defend themselves. They have no skills to do that. What can they do? Ben can see invisible things and Mike can leave a vulnerable body behind as he becomes one of those invisible things Ben can see." He sighed. "It'd be best for them to leave this agency. This isn't the right place for them."

While he didn't like that idea, he hated the idea of them getting hurt even more. And he couldn't be with them all the time to keep them out of harm's way. Not if he wanted to do the things he liked to do.
