Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

Morrison nodded at the idea and brought a radio to his mouth. "Barrow, meet me at this side of the building. We're going in."
As he waited for the other two agents to join him, he watched what Harriet was doing. It wasn't long before he heard two pair of footsteps hurrying in his direction and he glanced to the side to see Barrow and Ethan joining him.
"She wants to go inside her room," he said, gesturing with his head to Harriet. "We might as well check if anything entered the old base. We'll back her up, she'll get the lead for now."

"Gaia, I'm sorry I disturbed you," Lily said. "Do forgive me, darling. But I got some unsettling news and I wanted to share it with you. Some people claim you as their own and they wrote a rather threatening letter. I just want to know if you want to go back to them. I will show you the letter on the screen so you can see it for yourself. If you can read. I don't recall seeing anything about schooling in your file. Can you read, dear? Otherwise, I'll read the letter to you."

As she waited for an answer from Gaia, she glanced at the other screens. The creatures in her department were behaving well. Chiyoko was done feeding - such a precious child - and the siren boy was swimming. It still annoyed her she was tasked with testing him, but that was okay. Would she test water acidity and how his tolerance for high and low ph values were? That could be an interesting test.
Benjamin turned to Dia when she greeted him and instantly smiled. "Great, under circumstances." He turned to face Ari. "Ray is... struggling to be honest. There was a lot of anger and self-loathing in her, but that is probably due to her losing spirits that were a part of her for a long time. She will need to come to terms with that."

He sat down on the bed, unsure how he could help Ray. He wasn't trained to deal with things like that, the people working here were. But... he didn't trust them; it didn't look like they were really trying to help the people get better here. All they really wanted was that people would swallow their pills and be quiet.
Michael agreed, Kim was a great caretaker and he was sure she'd love to help out with any eggs hatching or babies born in their family. He had his attention on Necrozoma, and relaxed a little when Niccia mentioned the mood was good. He was already on bad terms with one legendary Pokémon and he didn't want to add more to that list. He was glad Darkrai wasn't here; he wouldn't have been able to enjoy this party if that was the case.

As he walked towards Nercozoma, Lytse followed him. But without warning, two hands grabbed him and he squeaked in surprise when he was suddenly lifted from the ground and brought to face to face with Netherlu, who peered intensely at him.
"I knew it!" Netherlu suddenly exclaimed. "You carry the gift of the rainbow flames, don't you? I thought I felt something familiar!" He noticed Michael had stopped. "oh surely you'll let me catch up with your Pokémon? I don't meet many who actually have my gift."

"If Lytse is okay with it, so am I," Michael replied and looked at his Pokémon.
"I-it's fine." Lytse stuttered. "You two go can go talk with Nercrozoma." When given the choice, Ho-oh was a less frightening Pokémon to be around than one who had burst through the gate, ready to fight everyone here.
Michael nodded to his Cyndaquil and turned to Niccia. "Let's go for real now," he said with a laugh.

Benny came flying back, sipping through a straw from a bottle of sweet berry juice he held in his small paws. "That was fun," he stated. "But this is tasty, almost as tasty as real nectar. Too bad there isn't any mead."
"You shouldn't be drinking mead," Andy retorted. "Your body is too small to really handle alcohol."
"Oh yes, you can understand me now." Benny giggled and turned to Frossien. "Mead is delicious, but I didn't enjoy the headache afterwards."
"Your own fault for stealing my drink."
"It smelled like honey!"
"That doesn't mean it's okay to steal it!"

"We're worried about what happened," Hacru stated. "Or, more precisely, we are worried this might happen again. So, our proposal is to leave some Pokémon with you to ensure the events of today will not be repeated."
Was there more that needed to be said? Probably, but most depending on what their father would answer. He prepared a few reasons why the idea was good in case their father wouldn't agree with the proposal.

"They say love and hate can be very close to each other, despite being opposites," Tanter said. "Love to hate someone, hate to love someone. But to be the embodiment of both... that might be more chaotic than the distortion world." He paused when the portal crackled to life and a woman stepped through. The sister they were just talking about?

Ever since I wrote a Harry Potter fic I was playing with the idea that the song of mermaids/sirens affects those that have a sexual preference for the gender of the siren who is singing. The reason there are stories about sailors being smitten by mermaids is because they fall in love with women; a male siren wouldn't have the same effect on them. But lesbians and bisexuals would be equally affected by a female siren. And the song of a male siren would affect straight women, gay men and bisexuals, but straight men and lesbians not so much.
Do you have a preference as to how siren songs affect humans in this RP? If you don't have anything ready, I have an idea we could discuss, but since you have a siren character I assume you already have a plan.
Morrison stopped when Harriet asked her question and shrugged. "Go for it," he said. "The building will be demolished soon anyway, one more broken wall won't matter." He glanced around for a moment, everything seemed clear at the moment. "I can stay on the lookout here as long as you're inside, or go inside with you if you expect trouble there."
At this moment he didn't care Harriet wasn't a human; as far as he was aware the relations with her kind were good, and she was currently a team member of his.

Lily pursed her lips as she read through the letter. Of course she'd report this to headquarters to see how they felt about a potential war with this agency, but she'd fight to have Gaia with her. She didn't have that many magnificent creatures in her care right now, and didn't want to lose one like Gaia.

After thinking about it for a moment she went to her office, pushed a button and looked at the black screen. Before contacting her boss, she decided to ask Gaia about this organisation first.
Inside Gaia's room, a panel at the wall lit up to let her know she was being called.

RPGC #35 – there's no camp like...

Like what? Camps can be anything and be the setting for any genre. Maybe it'll remind you about a summer vacation, a base camp when mountain climbing, or the home of soldiers during a war. Maybe something else entirely!
Write a story about something taking place at a camp.

"That's where they last were," Benjamin said, walking in that direction. "I don't think they had plans on leaving. And Dia can pretend to do a room search if a nurse enters; she has a staff badge now. Thanks to whathisname. Josh." He still wasn't sure how he felt about that guy; he seemed to know things about Dia and he didn't like it that someone here knew her better than he did. He sighed when he admitted to himself he might be a tad jealous on their shared history while he was just beginning to be a part of her life. That made him wonder when he had started to feel so strongly about being part of Dia's life.
He thought about this as he walked towards Ray's room.

"I thought you'd like it," Vivian said. "Go on then, find your new host."
She thought back to the last time she had done this; her precious niece had been a good target. But she did need some people with actual illnesses too, ever since Simon had died she didn't have anyone to test medication against auditory hallucinations on anymore, and that was a profitable business to be in. She sat down at her computer to see if she could get her hands on a few more patients.
Agent Morrison acknowledged her warning with a nod of his head. That was his experience as well. But, they were also more reckless which worked in their advantage again. He sneaked further around their previous base, the lights all out. A pity, he had liked this location. But, the boss had ordered it and that was that.
It was silent, except for some nocturnal animals that had come out of hiding and taken over the territory from the daytime critters. So far it didn't sound like there were more vampires, but Morrison knew better than to let down his guard.

Ethan and Barrow were walking on the other side of the mansion, likewise on alert as they scouted the area. Suddenly Ethan fell his body warm up, and a bit of pressure. As if someone was hugging him. He looked around, there was nothing here. Ghost? No, that couldn't be it. Ben had always said ghosts were intangible; a creature that could flow through walls would flow through a human body as well, and that would feel cold instead of warm.
It was a pleasant feeling though, he smiled a bit as he continued to walk.

Lily let out an exasperated sigh when the intern mention the siren boy. "Fine," she said as she flipped through the paperwork. "I'll start doing some tests tomorrow. Do some bloodwork, see how long he can stay on dry land before needing water." She'd enjoy working with a siren much more if it'd be female, but this was all she had.
She put the paperwork to the side to take over the folder. "Leave now, we'll begin tests after all the creatures are fed." She waited a moment before the intern left and then put down the folder and opened the letter.
