Everyone seemed a bit stunned after the sudden intervention of the 'crew' backing up jock-boy and there was a moment of pause while they departed, seemingly narrowly avoiding a physical confrontation. KK, of course, only seemed to notice the tail end of this interaction and so was quick to break the silence while not-so-smoothly sliding up to Alistair. "Oh my gosh, your girlfriend is soooooo pretty! You guys make an adorable couple!" Grasping his shirt at his hip, the boy standing over a head taller than her, she stretched out her hand after the departing girl and got a far off look. "Two star-crossed lovers against a land where Grimm haunt the shadows... only the brightness of their love beats back the darkness!" She was nodding now, her face taking on a very serious look while she daydreamed about the scenario. "Yes... yes, that is how it must be!"

"Hey, watch out for that ben-" With a crash, the battered bench gave way beneath Tirren, and KK winced as the splinters she'd so carefully stacked on its seat went scattering across the floor. "I'm sooooooo sorry!" She said, cheeks flushing with embarrassment again as she offered him a dainty hand to help him to his feet. "In my defense you really should watch the benches you sit on. You never know when a flail head or a rocket launcher or a meteor has weakened its stability enough to make it a hazard!" Swinging the intimidating weapon in a low arc for emphasis, she flashed a small, awkward smile. "Oh, and I'm Kalimay Kay! Or KK to my friends! Or Kali... Or Kay. I'm sure if I had friends they'd call me at least ONE of those!"

"This'll be the day, da da DA DAAAAA! This'll be the day somethin' and there's a dooooooor!" The light, soprano voice echoed through the tight airship hallway filled with a few small groups of students milling about in excitement. They gave her a few quizzical looks as she passed, her long brown ponytail bouncing about her shoulder while she skip-danced along with the music blaring through her purple over-the-ear headphones. It was hard to say whether they were more interested in her awkward movements and off-key singing or in the thin delicate hand that was casually spinning the large and vicious looking flail in a graceful figure-8 motion that caused a light whistle as it passed through the air. She failed to notice any of these strange stares being so engrossed in the music that was fueling her near-limitless pool of excitement and energy.

Kalimay Kay still couldn't believe that she would be attending the Beacon Academy.

"Welcome to a world of blooooooody evolution!" Flying into another rousing chorus, Kalimay Kay closed her eyes and brought the handle of BRIK-Breaker up to pretend it was a microphone, complete with a lot of aggressive head-banging. Unfortunately, this made her unable to notice her accidentally pressing a certain button on her weapon and before she knew it, the chain was extending mid-spin and the large flail head was breaking straight through the center of an elegant wooden bench placed beside a trio of students who had just rushed into the hallway only a few moments before.

Luckily, the bench itself had been unoccupied.

"Oooops..." KK muttered, dropping her headphones around her neck as her cheeks flared a bright pink. "I-I'm so sorry!" Her voice was an embarrassed squeak as she rushed forward to Morella, Tirren, and Allistair with her hands clamped over her mouth. A soft 'whirring' from the weapon drew in the chain and brought the flail head back through the broken hole, which only helped to make it larger and send several large splinters scattering about the floor.

With a light cough and a quick look around to make sure none of the airship staff were in view, KK quickly stacked the larger pieces on the bench's seat while muttering several obscenities to herself, not even noticing the altercation between the katana-wielder and the 'jocky' boy.

Its chain is extendable from the grip allowing for greatly varying attacks and, in the hands of a skilled wielder, can be used to rappel or swing from certain objects. Inside the flail head are eight dust-canisters that can be triggered to explode on contact, giving the weapon a significant ‘punch’ if the situation requires it. The canisters are all contained in a round ‘clip’ that fits just over the flail head’s end spike and that can be easily swapped to ‘reload’. In missile launcher form, the weapon actually fires out the explosive flail head still attached to the chain, allowing the wielder to slightly manipulate the direction of the rocket. All eight dust-canisters explode on contact at once, creating a much larger blast radius than when in flail form, and the flail head and chain are then drawn back into the launcher for a reload.

Semblance: Burst – With intense focus KK can charge her aura, drawing its energy into a concentrated force centered on her person, and then release it all in a sort of concussive explosion around her. This explosion is often enough to send enemies and allies alike flying away, leaving them stunned and disoriented and ripe for a meeting with BRIK-Breaker.

Anyone who meets her father, Karimack Kay, will immediately see that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree for he is a strange and eccentric man intently devoted to developing new hunting inventions, typically of an explosive nature. It is has been said that he was not always so off-the-wall but that the death of his wife left him a bit too unstable for his own good and it was very difficult growing up as he had little time to give to KK, though he loved her as best he could and often let her watch, or even participate, in his work. So it was that these aspirations were passed to his daughter and even at a young age KK was noted to frequently blow up Grimm dolls using cherry-bombs and other improvised explosives. Though relatively unknown in wider circles, he was rather infamous as a hunter for his crazy schemes and destructive fighting style which typically left a lot of collateral property damage. He taught his daughter everything she knows, from Grimm hunting to flail fighting to bomb making, and while it helped her to hone her fighting abilities it left her as a social pariah and bullying target all through her schooling.

She attended Signal Academy and did moderately well in her classes, even crafting BRIK-Breaker as her weapon making requirement, but was always a loner on the fringes of school life. When she finally graduated she was invited to apply to Beacon Academy which took an interest because of her impressive fighting demonstrations and her lineage and she quickly took up the opportunity for the hope of finding a new start and a way to finally make some friends.

Personality: KK is extremely bubbly and ridiculous, often being the first to crack a joke or laugh at an enemy. She seems to be permanently optimistic and cheerful, regardless of the current circumstances, and will always attempt to defuse a tense situation with humor. She loves to cause mischief with her friends and it is not unheard of to find her not-so-subtly trying to get people together on surprise ‘dates’. Though generally likable, she can quickly get on the nerves of those with less tolerance for silly things because she rarely appears serious.

Despite this outward image, those who actually manage to get KK to open up might find her a scarred and frightened little girl desperate for true friendship. Even at an early age she was constantly being ostracized and bullied for her strange personality and for the reputation of her father and as a defense mechanism her outlandish traits became more and more defined. She wishes more than anything to have friends who understand and care about her despite her peculiarities but seems to have no clue of where to find them.

[Fighting style-]

With the use of BRIK-Breaker, KK’s way of fighting typically involves a lot of hitting things and explosions and sometimes even hitting things WITH explosions. In flail form, she tends to use the extendable chain to keep enemies off balance by striking both high and low in a series of rotations. These blows are augmented with the use of the explosive dust canisters that not only allow the weapon to pack a greater punch but that can also be used to both direct the flail head as it swings or even reverse its spin. If the field of battle allows, KK will deploy the flail’s hooks and use the weapon to grapple enemies and objects in order to move quickly between them. KK will also frequently switch the weapon into missile launcher form and use it as God intended: launching rocket-propelled death at large clusters of enemies and even sometimes at a single bothersome one. Because the ‘rocket’ isn’t actually destroyed in the explosion, which is caused by the simultaneous detonation of the dust canisters contained within, even in launcher form the weapon can be used as a sort of long distance grappling hook or even as a larger bodied flail.

• Singing: Though it often grates on the nerves of those around her to hear the same song, or even the same PART of a song, one hundred and fifty times in an hour, she actually has a pretty good voice.
