Max quickly delivered the remaining packages on his cart, storing the raw meat in the designated coolers of each room with an order. No other residents or attacks or disasters distracted him from his task and when it was done he returned to the loading dock and was relieved to find the packages for building’s 2 and 3 had already been picked up by the other monster staff and were likely on their way to be delivered.
He pulled the Nutri-Grain out of his pocket and ate it thoughtfully as he walked. It was funny to be thankful he only fielded one veiled threat this morning, and that was from Miyuki which was pretty much par for the course. Less than the URC average and FAR less than the average at the Waldorf Astonia in Chicago.
All in all, not a bad morning.Stepping back into Building 1, Max’s thoughts were interrupted by light reflecting into his eyes and he squinted against the glare. It took him a moment to realize the reflection off the floor was coming from the radiant rays cascading off the bright halo hovering above the head of the girl who just stepped into the hallway. She was a newer resident, Max knew, though he can’t recall if they’d ever spoken in person.
Does that thing have a dimmer switch…? He wondered as she turned towards the lobby and he flashed an awkward smile.
“Good morning, Miss-” The thoughts spun quickly and he almost kicked himself for needing the time to remember.
“-Miss Glorinthy.” Angel Glorinthy. Should be easy enough to remember… “Are you settling in alright? I sent out the ad for your maid services in the last Umbra Rose newsletter, per your request.”
