Okay but like seriously though, let's not tell Nintendo about this... About what, you ask? Exactly!

Alright fine. I could have images for my projects hosted on-site, but you gotta promise me you won't go snooping in there. There might be spoilers, y'know?

Greetings visitor! I hope you're having a good day! Whether you've seen me around the guild or not, I should admit that it's only been within year-6 of my time on this site that I've bothered to start work on this here "bio". I feel like I should apologize for not making it a higher priority much sooner, but lately I've adopted that "better late than never" mindset when it comes to introductions, and besides, I doubt there was much to tell in my early years anyway. I'm pretty much an amateur writer who got my start as a minor tag-along player in a fandom AU campaign ran by a small, close-nit remnant of a community formerly in association with a notable strategy-gaming youtuber. I'm being vague for brevity's sake. In the end, I value my first exposure to roleplaying as a personal learning experience more than anything, as I'm definitely the kind of person that sequesters themselves in any given community they find themselves in and RPG is certainly no exception.

That pretty much explains what I've been up to for the last several or so years, with only occasional public posts from me, as private 1x1 roleplays are easily where the lion's share of my attention goes to. Details regarding my particular interests and even approach as a prospective partner can be found in the interest check I update very rarely, but if you'd like to have a link to it or want to work with me in a similar capacity, then PMs are the best way to reach me. As for what you can expect in very broad terms, I'll say that I'm a 90s kid who'd grown up on Nintendo and Cartoon Network where, thanks to Toonami, I've developed an appreciation for the Japanese style of animation, a style that commonly influences my own creative endeavors to this day. That is in no way to say that I'm an avid watcher of anime and the like (I have my tastes and while that does sometimes coincide with what's current, it usually doesn't), just that I gravitate toward the ludicrous, extraordinary concepts and settings they commonly facilitate. That style aligns with what excites me creatively. That's the long and short of it. Exceptions do exist of course.

Just a quick clarification to help me along. The main group is already inside the palace and somewhere inside (perhaps before the throne room or something) they're stopped by a guard?

Anyway, I guess I'll see my way to posting sometime during the weekend. I don't know: Viranti could act like himself and while the guard's busy arresting him, the rest of you guys can sneak in and see the Queen (unless someone beats me to it of course). We'll see. XD

I'll get it out later today.

Prior to James' and Neric's intervention, the only real option available to Cecilia would have been to give up and be lowered down, likely after her grip gives out and she lets the safety line catch her again. As it happened, she was rather oblivious to Neric's envelopment of James and their seemingly effortless scale of the wall to her aid. Her hand was just moments away from letting go. She felt lightheaded, which wasn't surprising given her overexertion, but she snapped out of it when she felt someone lift her by the arm and help her up the rest of the way. "Uh... James?" she seemed quite surprised to see him for a split second, then sort of shyly looked away as she wordlessly let him take her away from the edge. It was only natural that she'd be very embarrassed by this point, not even having the coordination to stand on her own for the time being, electing to sit for a time. "Well, that was a disaster..." Cecilia said, smirking a little at the understatement, still in the process of catching her breath. "It isn't too serious. I just got hit in the back," she continued, her right hand reaching around to her left shoulder blade, causing her to flinch at the painful localized surge.
Whew, finally got around to it.

What do you mean too lazy to read the post? I read the post. XDD
Varen

Varen was prematurely rehearsing a conceited and self-serving back-and-forth he imagined he'd have to take up with any member of his team that may have felt inclined to try and save him, his dialogue along the lines of "save yourselves", "well I wouldn't say hero, but..." and many other hackneyed quips. He wasn't serious of course, rather just whimsically wasting time until his death. That said, he was intrigued at how the oncoming footfalls didn't really seem to carry with them the murderous intent of a Warchief who'd been taken down a peg. Perhaps the cliche was coming true after all in a touchingly unexpected display of camaraderie, the likes of which...

"Ach! Okay okay! I'm awake already!" Varen surged with life, although not by choice, his arms hoisting himself up with a bit of a glare in Ethel's direction for disturbing his self indulgent waste of time. "Kick on my wound all 'harmlessly' like that, you little... I'll teach you to- What?! My spear!?" him frantically jerking his head from side to side until he caught sight of his weapon just a few feet away. Retreiving it wouldn't be considered a monumental task, yet he did only have a second or so before the debuff wore off. Using his leg stumps and arms to fling himself closer, Varen just kind of flopped front first, close enough to reach the tail end of the shaft, having to pin said end into the ground to help himself get right side up.

Varen's eyes beamed wide at seeing the the Warchief stagger in his direction, the others having forced him by way of a final push towards the spearwielder. He had thought of at least two one-liners to say at this point. But as he pushed himself forward to add in that little extra force into a final, desperate pierce at Ares' core, he decided against them as they were too cliche, even for him. He simply grit his teeth under a guttural growl as the blade of his spear found purchase, the weight driving the other end to the ground once again.

“Ha ha, very funny,” Cecilia facetiously remarked with a smile to match when she turned her full attention back at James. Her hand opposite him, now free, moved to rest itself over his forearm. She didn’t mean to make him feel left out in any way and was keen to make it up to him when she had the chance, that is, if she could still move after this whole climbing thing was over with. During a somewhat long sigh that sounded more plaintive than she would have liked, she glanced at the next phase they’d have to scale. “I guess we shouldn’t put it off, huh?” she said, referring pensively to their next stage.

Since the two of them seemed to have lowered themselves down after their successful attempts, there may have been a bit of walking they’d have to do to get to the top of stage two before tackling stage three itself. Cecilia would rather take the trip with James and Neric, electing to simply hold hands with the boy so as not to risk either of them tripping on the other’s feet while walking up the perhaps uneven dirt path. She’d be blushing throughout all this of course, somewhere along the line beginning to silently fret over how clammy her hand was getting, between the late summer morning, worrisome anticipation and just being with James.

“This is it… I-I’ll just go first and you can meet me at the top. Sound good?...” Cecilia would ask, getting progressively unnerved just by being in proximity to the wall. She approached the start, intent on going first anyway, attempting to confidently look back at James and Neric with what she felt was a rather convincing facade, though she honestly doubted she was fooling either of them at this point.

Cecilia might as well have been in a dentist waiting room with the wall towering over her as she just sort of went through the motions of being hooked into the safety line. Getting started as soon as the okay was given, she found the first third of the ascent easy enough, the small break serving her well through the initial toeholds. Yet no sooner had she reached the halfway mark when her muscles started to ache under the strain, her arms finding each new hold harder to reach than the last. Cecilia’s pace slowed to a stop, her depleting energy being devoted towards keeping her from falling rather than any kind of progress. After a quick glance the rest of the way up, her head slumped downward under a tired and frustrated sigh. If there was any silver lining to all this, it was that, instead of a skirt, she had actually been sporting some outdoor hiking legwear, which was just a few pockets short of being considered cargo pants in her opinion.

The welcome assurance of not being particularly leered at would only pleasantly distract her for a few moments, the burning in her extremities serving as an ever present reminder that, if she didn’t make it to the top soon, she’d most certainly fail this challenge. She had originally chosen a mostly artificial route primarily featuring placed grips, however she decided upon a shorter but more arduous course. Her fingers felt the burden especially, and although she was glad she wasn’t the kind of girl to insist on long or elaborate nails, she could tell the natural ledges and slits were getting narrower, her finger tips beginning to carry her weight with every move.

It came to the point where Cecilia just couldn’t hold on, her hand losing it’s tentative grip while she was laboriously outstretching her other arm. Very much aghast during the ensuing free fall, her helpless gasp came prior to a yelp in pain when she fell backwards and slammed against a relatively jagged section of wall, her safety line abruptly halting her descent and drawing her into it, her left shoulder blade getting the brunt of the impact. Cecilia winced in pain, her right arm reaching out to grab onto any handhold to continue, having to make up the distance as well as the rest of the final third of the stage under a very stinging handicap.

Progress was grueling, Cecilia’s bruise and her limbs especially feeling as though they were on fire as she was forced to take the longer path, her incessant, heavy breathing and pained grunts at the more challenging portions: a very good sign that she wasn’t having a good time. When she had finally reached the top, her right arm would try and pick up the slack and cling to the edge of the cliff, he left arm just about spent in light of a sharp throbbing from her bruise whenever she moved said appendage. Though success was in her grasp, she was completely exhausted. She rested her head sideways against the ledge, eyes closed as she effectively shut down, her perception fading amidst her own labored breathing. Her turn might not have been over, but it sure felt like it was.
@LiegeLord
Cecilia beamed as she rode out the uniquely pleasant sensation of Neric's affection, feeling his nebulous plumage against her cheek. She delicately held her arm over the Void, about as close to a hug as she'd imagine possible with a bird-like being. She too momentarily looked on at Lin's hard-fought climb to the top, a brutal trial of a display that, besides prompting her to avert her direct line of sight out of a kind of modesty and respect, was something of a bad omen that loomed over her, given how much more capable the girl seemed compared to herself. Her concerns weren't completely selfish however, as she was very cognizant of how painful and embarrassing it must have been for her. However, Cecilia would soon consider how it wouldn't be long till she too would find herself more than a little acquainted with a similar degree of difficulty. She couldn't help it.

James referencing stargazing helped take Cecilia's mind off the whole thing for a time, her response with a tinge of delightful surprise. It appeared as though he was preoccupied with something for a second, Neric shuddering just enough for her to sense something was up. They could have been just as perturbed as she was over the next stages, but somehow she doubted it was that clear cut. "Oh, right. I'm looking forward to it. I've been looking forward to it," she said under a rather excited smile. She was concerned with what could have been bothering them, but decided against bringing it up for now; they'll share what they're comfortable sharing when they're comfortable sharing it. And what with two more walls in the way, she didn't want to cause James to lose focus just to satiate her curiosity.
I imagine I had jumped the gun with that last one. If you'd like me to rework it, just let me know.
@LiegeLord
With a low and quick exhale, Cecilia gave a long blink, her worries alleviated for the most part. "That's a relief. (Light Giggling) And I shouldn't forget about your guardian angel here," she added with a little extra pep when the Void perched himself on her shoulder. "Thanks for helping out, Neric, you were awesome," Cecilia gratefully commended, one of her hands coming over to pet and caress his feathers. She was enjoying herself like this with James and Neric, during a blissful moment between nerve racking bouts of rock climbing, high on the feeling of accomplishment for completing one stage and before having to warily face the next. But James drew her closer, reminding her about stargazing. No surprise she was a tad embarrassed at the gesture, but she was also very surprised that he remembered. Cecilia agreed that it sounded like a fantastic and relaxing activity when compared to climbing, but there was a pretty good reason that now wasn't the best time. "I'd love to, James... But maybe it's best to do so during the evening. Chances are, it'll still be, at most, mid afternoon when we're finished here, silly..." she said, gladly wrapping her arm around his. "I think today will be the day though. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait."
@LiegeLord
Cecilia really didn’t mind Neric not supervising her ascent as he did with James. Practically speaking, she knew that if she messed up or met with a suitably difficult situation, the Void would come to her aid in a matter of seconds. But beyond that, she knew that the two of them were watching over her, and although she constantly fretted over not letting them down, she knew she had their support. She doubted she would have met the challenge as well as she did otherwise.

James seemed to think she did well, a stance that she wouldn’t be in total agreement with, but it was sweet of him to think so. When he asked if it was his turn, Cecilia simply chuckled along with him, though while he squeezed her hand, she couldn’t shake the thought of how, if she had her way, he wouldn’t need to go next or maybe even at all. It was a ridiculous thought, but it would resurface now and again during his turn. Regardless, she cheered after him with a sunny “Good luck, James! I’ll be rooting for you!” sighing while onlooking his approach to the wall.

“Take your time! You can do this!” Cecilia called out as he reached the midsection, him slowing down to handle the increase in difficulty. She didn’t want to cheer him on too often, not keen on getting on people’s nerves nor disrupting James’ concentration. A hush would fall over her time and again, especially as James readied himself for a full on jump in order to progress. Her hands subconsciously locked themselves together over her chest. In that very moment, she felt even more tense than when it was her turn. It all sort of culminated when James missed the handhold and plummeted a short distance, her heart sinking just as quickly. She let out a helpless gasp, a worried countenance about her that she couldn’t shake off for a while until she saw him make it to the top.

The chances of any real harm coming to James was slim to nil, yet Cecilia couldn’t help but feel the way she did, an “overreaction” she told herself, seeing him reach level ground and approach her. Not about to give him a hard time over it, she smiled warmly again, taking his forearm near the wrist and lightly massaging it between her hands. “A-Are you alright? You really had me worried for a minute there.” She meant to play it off rather cooly, but he could probably tell she was indeed genuinely concerned.
Varen

"Not cool! Tell your fan club to buzz off! Unless of course, you really can't take a few upstarts by yourself!" Varen taunted in a snarky timbre, yet there was a clear undertone of frustrated spite at the turn of events. He ferociously swung his spear around, a threatening maneuver to brush the meddling horde away from him. He wasn't stoked about having to watch his flank the entire time, and would therefore be glad to see Azemi, watch his back, nodding to her before facing Ares again. "You call this living?! No one's walking away from this! We're both vegetables in a crappy hospital bed, getting our butts sponged to hell for all we know!... (Sinister Smile) But how about I do ya a favor?... I'll spare you from a fate worse than death!!"

Varen was attacking and counterattacking in a near frantic flurry of embers and sparks, more of a formality to buy time as his skills replenished. Even so, the Warchief wasn't without his fair share of successful attacks, though they were noticeably less often than what would have been the case had he fought someone other than Varen, the head hancho's blows definitely making an impact, stripping away up to a third of his health. Each brush of the sword against the spear wielder's person was a break in his concentration and rhythm, facets of his defense that he struggled to restore, instinct picking up the slack and guiding his shaft as well as his body until his mind took over, resuming the hectic, deadly dance. But within seconds, Varen realized that the player killer was stepping up his offense to a fierce degree, to the point that a clean hit was near impossible. The red head narrowed his emerald colored eyes. He couldn't keep this up for much longer.

Well s**t... (increasingly unhinged laughter)...

Okay... How about one more miracle you two? What do you say?... Pipe down already (playful chuckling)... What's a big bro for?...

Anyone not paying close enough attention would miss what was technically done within fractions of a second. Varen, after securing a relatively good amount of distance with a shove of his weapon, charged at Ares, his Flame Daybreak Spear igniting at the tip and glowing to signify the activation of <Daybreaker>. Keep your eye on the shiny, big boy... Spear trained forward, it looked like a head on assault until he started launching a few throwing knives mid rush, precise projectiles which Ares easily deterred with his blade, the last knife aiming low. In the exact moment that his sword met the low aiming shot, Varen launched himself up in the air, his body slanting leftward, his flaming spear in his right hand and another knife in his left hand. Twisting his whole body towards Ares, his left hand let fly with the knife that hindered the rising sword just enough so that it wouldn't interfere with the maneuver, let alone kill him outright. Yet rise the sword did, the resulting slash taking a whole other third from his health and a little more besides that. But all the same, the Warchief couldn't stop <Day Breaker>, which the very mid air Varen swung down like a hammer upon the leader's shoulders, a dynamic trail of fire streaming from behind the spear tip, a fuse that lead to an even greater explosion at the point where armor and spear met.

Slight of hand, baby! (laughter) I should have been a magician.

...

For what it's worth... there are worse ways to go... I can't think of anything right now, but it'll come to me, when it's too late... Heh...

F*****g hell... Those were my favorite pair too...

Smoke, dust and, if all went according to plan, crystalline shards of armor and such, engulfed where the both of them were. As the shroud lifted around the edges, Varen could be seen lying on the ground, facing upward. His spear was a few feet away, but he couldn't reach it, not seeing much point in doing so. Both his legs were severed clean off from Ares' attack, a fanciful, colored "gash" marking where his left thigh and right calf ended abruptly. "Wrong on both counts, j*****s!" Varen shouted into the sky after a laughing fit. "And for my next miracle!?!..."

"...No regrets..." he tiredly sighed as he slowly closed his weary eyes. His legs would have regenerated back to normal within a few minutes, but that may have been minutes he didn't have. Whether Ares was alive or dead, he was still a sitting duck. There wasn't a guarantee that the others could wipe out the rest of the PKers; retreat may very well be the best option, and there was no way he could make it to the watchtower now.

This is fine... Guess I'll come up with some epic last words... "(deep breath) Six out of ten... Community kinda sucks... Well... on the whole, anyway..." he muttered under his breath, a boyish grin on his face.
