Adam smiled and said “that’s smart thinking. Yugi seems to jump the gun a little fast…” Dartz was looking around the room and said “dear…you had a rough night I take it…”

Serena nodded and said “we need to talk to Marik. I am wondering about something Tristen was telling me about…but I don’t think it will be a comfortable question…” Adam looked over and asked “what is that?”

Serena sighed “how did he hold control over a persons mind with the rod like he did with Tea?”

Bane growled and seemed to be getting ready to do just that when Ash said “Bane? Who else was attacked?”

Bane sighed and sat back, rubbing his face. “A retired chemist and a welding instructor. Not sure why…both didn’t make it. Both were from the Academy though…around the same time your father was. That’s all we have found so far. It’s why I was looking for you when I went by the shop and saw Trigger repairing the back wall and the other bots working. I feared the worst for you…”

The car pulled up and the doors opened, Bane getting out and helping Ash out. They were in front of an old school looking building, the pub sign swinging in the soft breeze. Bane said softly “we can talk more once I get you both some food…I need to cook something”

Adam took her hand to stand up and said “I believe so…thanks for fixing me up. I hope it wasn’t draining for you?”

Serena looked at him and said “it’s making me wonder…if someone is beaten…that’s when the link to Apep is made? With those wands?”

Lucifer held up a finger and said “maze my dear? Would you mind bringing the files Chloe left here? Let’s see if there is a link between all of this…I might text her as well…see if she can come home for lunch and chat”

Serena was looking at the book on the phone and muttered “wait a sec…why does it look kinda familiar…but the colors are opposite?”

Drake looked at her and asked “like what you are seeing is another version?” Serena nodded. “Ya…”

Bane looked up a little surprised “oh it’s fine dear. I mean I don’t blame you for being upset…” John gave her a look and nodded, waiting till they were in the kitchen. Then said “wait what the heck just happened?”

Bane frowned more and said “and how did you get by her magic seals she has placed on her home?” Ash glared at Bane and said “alright that’s enough. Drop it won’t you? He helped me. That’s all that should be taken into consideration right now. Why did you want to see me anyway?”

Bane looked at her and said “you weren’t the only one attacked last night. Just the only one who got out breathing”

Ana said as she worked her spell “there are two who Vincent said aren’t like the others…find them fast. I don’t think they left…” she was working the spell now as one of the mind locked ones was hidden, aiming a gun at Ana.

Dartz frowned and walked in, kneeling down by them and said “I see it…we should get him some food first. May I come along? I was planning on going anyway…”

Serena was thinking and muttered to herself “is this why…the ones taken can’t break free?”

Drake nodded and said “we think it’s the key to save Kay…but we aren’t sure. We were goin by the seat of our pants at this point”

Serena sat by Chas and looked at the book. “Is that at the house? I don’t recognize it…”

Lucifer was deep in thought and said “maybe we need to get more involved Maze…might need to bring Chloe in on this. Didn’t you say something about people being kidnapped?”

The shadow sighed and said “his not to blame for how he is telling you…I sent orders to the past and I think he might be taking my words too seriously…I forgot how by the book he was back then…but you should know he couldn’t speak of your mother until now. He didn’t know until the future link hit. That was when he was taken and your Serena saw her father in the flames…”

Bane was rubbing his eyes as John was pacing out of stress now. He was worried Kay was about to lose it.

Adam looked panicked and said “no I can’t do that to him!” Serena groaned and whistled loudly to get them all to look at her. “Guys…I meant the link Drake has with the brotherhood. There must be something still linking him to Apep. I would never want to break a bond or relationship like that between you and Drake Adam. Never. But to Apep…that I would take a hammer to.”

Adam sighed and relaxed a bit, nodding. “Of course that’s what you meant…I’m sorry, I didn’t listen closely enough to your wording…I guess I’m still out of it from the attack…” Serena nodded and said “did you sleep?” He shook his head and said “not till I finally cast him out thanks to whichever god sensed my problem and sent some kind of wave out. It broke thru and I think I passed out after that…but it was around dawn.”

There was a knock and Darts was standing there. “Heavens…is everything alright in here? Adam what happened?”

Ash sighed as Bane looked at him closely. “And what do you mean by that? You seem to be more in the know how then you have let on…what exactly is your story? And I’m more curious about why you stuck around last night…”

Ash looked up and said “Bane come on. Not everyone is a threat. He was just at the right place at the right time…”
