I think I have my writing confidence back. Feels like centuries since I could string together sentences.

Hi. I'm a role-player/writer who has spent over twenty-one years in this hobby.

I will pretty much write anything as long as my partner is cool with my inconsistent posting pace and momentum. I'm pretty sociable and I make dumb jokes all the time. My favorite things to write is capeshit, anime, space operas, horror, and slice of life/mundane drama. My writing level leans toward minimalism, but I try to give my partners/groups more than enough to work off of. I like to think I am pretty flexible.

I like cinema, music, and animation just as much as I like writing with people. My biggest hobby after writing is pop media analysis. Ask me questions or for suggestions and I'm sure to have something for you. 😎😎😎

26 - Yellow Ranger - Tech Guru - 5'7" - Hazar Ergüçlü

We are the ones with too fast beating hearts
The ones who won't say that we are lost

People are often shocked by how socially awkward Ashlee can come off as, but after doing some basic math it isn’t that surprising. She comes from a family of introverted intellectuals and she’s always had a thing about crowds and proper interaction that just doesn’t work. As a defense mechanism she has found having a weird or distinct sense of humor can be effective, so as such she can be described a little offbeat with a huge sense for sarcasm despite sometimes not knowing how to read the room. She’s not particularly mean or standoffish, unless it comes to things she knows, but it is never her intent to do so.

But what techie isn’t a bit of a smartass with bad social skills?

While she may not look it, Ashlee Adanir has always been the biggest nerd in the room.

It’s been something of a family trait since her grandfather emigrated from Turkey in 2014 to the northern hills of California. He was a mathmetician, her father was a medical doctor, and well, Ashlee’s way of life is basically “sometimes physicist and tech consultant”. Numbers are important and knowing what they mean can change a lot. After attending the University of Northern California, Ashlee has tried to live as independently as she can. The big corporations haven’t interested her and she isn’t about the big tech startup life either. In fact, living in Angel Grove, only an hour or so from the Oregon border is pretty much the ideal place for her.

So far she generally works from home and outside of a very loose strand of hobbies, nothing too serious has come up. The biggest gig she can probably define is working for a local archaeologist and professor which has seemed to create a domino effect that seems to be getting weirder and weirder by the minute.

Centuries upon Centuries ago the Eltarians were in a brutal struggle against the collective strengths of their enemies, the only thing between them and universal darkness being that of a inherent extradimensional source of energy that would become known as the Morphing Grid.

To keep the forces of darkness from getting their hands on this power source they locked it away and the universe was preserved, if at the price of sacrificing the Eltarians themselves. The key to unlocking the grid, crystalline objects known as energems, would find themselves blasted into deep space. Various alien hordes would search for them with hopes it could empower them as the most powerful beings in the universe for time eternal. Fate has robbed them of that, though it is in the 21st Century on the Planet Earth where they will finally get their chance and nearly succeed.

It would be on Earth that the energems would be unearthed and awakened by several new hosts whomst hold the willpower and goodness to protect them and the grid from the threats that salivate for their power. These would-be heroes would come to be known as the first Power Rangers this reality had seen since the fall of Eltar. Their bravery would push back horde after horde until a devastating event would see themselves meet a terrible fate. However, from some interdimensional accident, one of the rangers who survived the event has tampered with the grid and tricked fate. Finding themselves in the beginning they know what it is soon to come. As they await the energems to be harnessed by their friends in this particular timeline they look to the sky for the aliens that will soon come.

Can the rangers survive what is to come this time?
Premise of the RP

Welcome to a reimagining of the Power Rangers setting, and I say setting very loosely here since as us who grew up with this franchise very clearly know any lore and continuity is held together with duct tape.

As a RP you will be playing one of the original rangers which outside of Red, Blue, and Yellow are not locked in. So if you want to have a green ranger instead of a pink ranger, that’s fine as well. More of a fan of purple? Go for it. The entire focus will be on the relations that will form between our group of characters in their early-to-mid-twenties. One lucky player will also have ties to the mysterious Gold Ranger given they are their sibling from the dark timeline’s future where all of the rangers effectively got killed. Most of that stuff is just story flavoring though, so don’t get too caught up with that. As for the setting more specifically, it will be an alternate Earth in what I’ll say is the 2040s or 2050s. Technology will be advancing along with some robotics and technological wizardry.

It’s a Power Rangers RP so at the core I won’t be taking it absolutely too seriously, though we do have a veneer of taking ourselves more seriously than say... Ninja Steel. So keep that in mind.

Power Rangers. In their twenties. Alternate Earth. Go ham. We will introduce the concept of Zords in the second or third arc. The first arc will largely be about the energems being unearthed and binding themselves to the hosts as guardians of the grid. Our first transformations and fights will be here. The second arc will be fights with typical slice-of-life affair in the middle for taste. There is some modicum of planning but I am also playing a lot by ear so if you have suggestions or questions I’ll hear you out. Unsure where your character fits in? My character will be a pilot for an archaeology team before the yellow energem binds to them as an example.

And that's the basics.
Ranger Conceptualization

Characters will not be “teenagers with attitude”, so it's perfectly fine to be a little confused here. I'll explain.

My character, the yellow ranger, is a pilot commissioned by an archaeological expedition originating in Angel Grove, CA – which, of course, will be our central location. Unlike some depictions of Angel Grove it will be in Northern California as opposed to Southern for flavor.

All characters would be employed in Angel Grove or residents of Angel Grove. This may make the organization of the team lead-up take some time, but I want to be as organic and inviting as possible plot-wise. At least one other character will be involved in the archaeological dig that my character is flying back to Angel Grove from. They could be site security or an archaeologist. Use your imagination! Some kind of physicist would be useful for technobabble about the “science” behind the morphing grid. If you are concerned your character has to be part of the digsite, don’t worry about that. Make the character you want to make. If they are an adrenaline junkie in Angel Grove that’s fine, I’ll make the energem come to you. I’m an experienced enough GM where I can adjust and adapt. Just remember. Yellow is mine.

Additionally, as I mentioned before, at least one player is related to the Gold Ranger from the other timeline, who at this point would be a teenager. If we get a good core of around five (plus me!) people going, I’m completely cool with letting someone play the Gold Ranger as well.

Location: City Sewers, The City-State of Thorinn, Aetheria

Well, that was a close encounter.

The French wayfarer steadied herself as the others did the same. Fortunately, Valena had explored the sewers to a measurable amount so she had some experience about the deeper tunnels and fixtures. Her white brows narrowed as she looked back at the depths she had nearly drowned in. Her staff was in there somewhere and she sighed as Alja began to ask questions. It was good that she had a spell in her disposal so she was not without her weapon.

Recall.

The words murmured in her mind as in a few moments the staff deep in the sewage lake found itself back in Valena's hands.

“It is quite a misérable situation, no?” She uttered as she channeled another purify spell, clearing the staff of any sewage. “I have done some exploring, but it is, erm, not complete. We will be going in half-blind. Though we have little choice.” She turned in the direction to a tunnel heading deeper into the deep sewers, away from the sewage lake. The only way forward was an old tunnel unless suddenly all of them could raise a platform or traverse the way they came. The red-head and blonde were probably the only ones with the skill to jump from point-to-point but the risk of them making a mistake and falling back down was a bit too high for Valena's liking.

“We will have to find the old élévateur.”

Location: Market Blacksmith, The City-State of Thorinn, Aetheria

“Have you thought about investing in new armor?” The blacksmith inquired with a friendly tone, “Because this looks pretty rough. Fixable, but rough.”

The blacksmith inspected the armor on the table. It wasn’t anything too unique and it could be probably tempered by someone with his lack of specific specializations. It’d take a few days to set in the new metal and leather as well as the huge queue of jobs he had gotten from other wayfarers. It could be done.

“A hundred up front and probably two after it’s finished. Give me three days.”

Edit: This post used to have two characters! They've been moved.

Interacting With: Scout, Mitchell | Location: Delbrook School Grounds

Ashlyn Czajkowski, AJ to her friends, did not have the greatest summer.

Everybody on the Delbrook Basketball Team knew it. Every teacher. Hell, probably half of the school knew it. The shadow of the deaths of three girls, all fairly popular, included that of AJ’s best friend. Britney Cooper. Coop. The other two girls were also friends, but not teammates and certainly not fixtures in AJ’s life since she was in the 3rd Grade. AJ’s demeanor had certainly changed for the worse and people were going to notice. Some would even justify it. The blonde's parents were pretty understanding and had given her a wide berth.

She had quit her job. Opted out of summer basketball programs. From June to September, the transition had been noticeable at home. Mostly. Her cousin, Scout, hadn’t really known her. Ever. AJ’s dad had moved from North Dakota ages ago to make it big in Hollywood and while the dream didn’t exactly work out, he kept in touch with his roots. When Scout ended up staying in one of the spare bedrooms AJ didn’t think much of it. Another mouth to feed. Another body to avoid. Which is something she would’ve done if her parents didn’t make her promise to help her cousin out. Get her used to Long Beach. To Delbrook. Be as nice as she could be.

AJ didn’t break promises. But “as nice as you can be” was not particularly welcoming. But it was whatever. Scout wasn’t exactly someone that was all that intrusive. She may as well had been a ghost.

“This shit is still fucking dumb.” She'd remark about the festival when Ms. Goldman was out of earshot. Not that she cared about a warning from language. She didn't care about much at the moment.

AJ's eyes moved over to Scout, their mannerisms oddly similar despite the experience being brand new to one of them. Hands tucked in her pockets, an aura of disinterest. As she moved over she saw another student, a boy, approach. AJ recognized him as one of the transfers from last year, though the two of them had never explicitly interacted. His name was something Wolfe. Woulfe. She moved a strand of hair from her face as she moved toward her cousin and her new acquaintance. Had to help Scout get acclimated, after all.

“Another year of the freak show. Same old Delbrook.” She remarked to Scout and indirectly, Mitchell. “Never makes any sense.”
