Current God I hate victim mentality and self-pity. It's so fucking pathetic.

"Brothers and Sisters, I ask you to pause... and listen.

What is it that you hear? Silence. Have you ever thought the space between sound, the absence, gives meaning to presence. This is the foundation upon that all things rest on. Silence, nothingness... this is the voice of the Void. It is older than time, before how creation itself stirred, and even before light sought to shine. All that is, comes from nothing.

Everything you see before you, are all but brief flickers of form emerging from the Void. We are often taught to fear the Void, but this belief is a misunderstanding. The endless expanse of the Void is not a force of chaos, or a place of death. The Void is the mother of all beginnings, the first element, primordial and pure. In it lies the infinite potential of creation and destruction.

The true path of Ascension is not found in chasing power, wealth, or glory. It is recognising that we too, are of this nothingness. In embracing the Void, we come to recognise our place within its grand tapestry, to recognise we are fleeting, transient, and yet, in our insignificance, we can become the infinite."

Alright, in that case I'm locking in on Ramuh, got some fun ideas. I hope to have a basic CS up in the next day or two, but I will need help with a banner, like in the example, at some point. I am very bad at using generative ai art tools lol.

No no, I will take care of all that, no worries :) Never meant for players to do anything with AI.

@Sylvan
What do you think about this? Pretty much same everything :)

In Regalia 3 mos ago Forum: Casual Roleplay
I’m thinking of a Bahamut Regalia that either works for Law Enforcement as a SWAT/Special Tactics unit, or for a corporation as a hit squad.

I believe @Silly is deep into that Bahamut life as well. That being said, there are no dibs, so if there are multiple using the same Dominant, I'll have to choose one. Other options are to choose another Dominant, or I can make a similar new one.

By the way, are there any canon crime syndicates that already exist? Or do you prefer that we make our own?

What I had in mind was a syndicate of sorts that provides protection, blackmail or espionage services for corporations. Which part of the world would be most notorious for such things?

There's a lot of room for player lore, so just write what you want, and then I'll look at it and adjust if needed. As for any specific place in the world -- pick one :) That sort of thing seems like a global endeavor, as it has to do with the corporations.

What I love about this world and Mirandae's wonderfully detailed worldbuilding is that it allows for a great deal of creative flexibility while still being grounded in the world she built. It's so fun hearing all the different characters being worked on! Very excited to see how these dynamics unfold. :)

COME HERE YOU

Love that! Yeah islander vibes are definitely what I was hoping for, and Southern Accadia being some mix of Polynesian/Bahaman/Hawaiian sounds awesome!

Also. As I'm writing his story, he is now also an Accadian Firefighter- as his day job anyway. I figure he's too chilled out to be a soldier, so if the Accadian government wants to put him to use, a public servant might fare better. Also, imagine the recruitment posters. And the calenders. Sold out, all of them.

lol! Indeed, that would probably inspire other Titan "bros" to join as a firefighter. Also imagine the tourism commercials around the world with our two characters! Basically free money, endlessly. I'll try to make this poster with the AI at some point!

Anyway, so, the southern part can probably be the tourist attraction, and maybe some luxury resorts. The northern part has all the party resorts, tons of clubs, and all that. I'm thinking my character will be from the northern part. We should coordinate a bit with the "social" section of the character sheet later, as our characters likely know each other, especially after becoming Regalia. I have the Nature element in my Dominant, so it's a match made in heaven with Titan's earth element.

@Mirandae I was actually considering that the character starts out in prison (caught doing crime or doing time for a boss) and gets blessed during a nasty fight, which then allows them to break out and escape. Would this escape "pardon" them in society's eyes, in a similar way that surviving a witch trial or winning a trial by combat makes one innocent?

People would probably see it as a sort of redemption through duty. Like, if Leviathan blessed a criminal, then there's some higher purpose, something this guy is meant to do -- that will be the "pardon" if you will. And that could be this very story that we're doing, that's the purpose.

All right, shifting my focus onto Leviathan. My character concept would be someone working in "sanitation" read: some kind of mob undertaker who leaves people to sleep with the fishes.

Is that still in line with the RP vibe? Just want to make sure before I proceed.

What the characters do for a living is up to you, but it also depends a bit on who their Dominant is. Leviathan is one of the bigger one with a massive following, so with that comes a certain amount of fame whether the Regalia wants it or not. HOWEVER, I do love some contrast and struggles that arise from "imposed fame". I have something like that going on for my own character. So, working man in "sanitation", dumping bodies -- sure, but keep the size of Leviathan's cult in mind for the details.

I've started working on a CS as well!

I've settled on a name for now, Akamu, and I'm going to have him hail from one of the smaller islands in Accadia. If it's relevant for other folk, I'm aiming to portray the islands of Accadia(or at least the smaller ones) similar to Hawaii, with a lot of relaxed ocean life vibes- and a dash of overbearing corporate tourism

Awesome! I was thinking of having Accadia for my character as well, and I had the same idea as you! I'm thinking the southern parts could be like you said - Hawaii, or maybe something like French Polynesia, Bahamas. And then, maybe the norther parts are a bit cooler in temperature, but still warm. And yes, a big source of income for the country would be tourism, party islands stuff.

Oops, just saw now that @Theyra called dibs. May I know who how many Dominants are left / what you would like to know if a player wants to propose a Dominant?

An aside - I realized why the vibe was somewhat familiar. I applied to Bleak Centauri years ago (made a character for Quetzlcoatl), which turns out to be yours as well.

Yess, this is evolved Bleak, indeed.

All Regalia can use 'regular' magic associated with the Dominant's element, even in their human form. The 'ability' listed on the Dominant banners is really only for narrative purposes, cool scenes, and such.

The character concept is fine. There's really no "dibs", but if you really feel strongly about Valefor, I can make a new one that is similar. As for what's left: I don't think anyone has specifically called mentioned Shiva, Leviathan, Garuda, and some others. But, then again, I don't know what everyone is going for. I made a separate one for myself so I wouldn't hog any of the choices.

I only ask because a Bahamut Regalia might not want to turn into a 85 foot dragon. In scenarios like fighting in an office building it might get cramped to get so big, for example.

Indeed what Aeolian said: your character can use magic native to their Dominant without Crystals. But, yes, the size of the Dominants do offer some interesting narrative situations.

@Mirandae Hi, I still exist! I'd like to reserve Ramuh for my Dominant of choice, but I do have a question: In his description its stated his Regalia appears as a man when transformed, could they appear female instead while keeping the rest of the aesthetics the same?

I should've mentioned this I think: the apparent gender of the Dominant doesn't have to match the character. Ramuh is depicted as male in teh Final Fantasy games, but if it's an aesthetic request, I could see to doing a female version, no problem :)

Thinking either Bahamut's "nothingness" domain or Odin's "desolation." I wanna take a superpower culturally perceived as belonging to "good guys" (in my case, healing magic) and have it operate in a mechanically brutal way with a great capacity for cruelty. (I'm basically envisioning a form of time magic, where the subject's physiological and temporal processes can be accelerated or otherwise fucked with so that they are reverted to an unharmed state..... either before they ever got injured at all or long after they've already healed, all in the blink of an eye. Kind of a darker, grittier Crazy Diamond.) Of course, this being basically some kind of "entropy power," she could also rust locked doors off their hinges, hide bodies by withering them to dust (ie. supernaturally advancing their decomposition), etc.

Dunno how "fair" or balanced the powers are gonna have to be in this game so I'm just throwing the concept out there for your quick approval before sinking real time into this ✌️

Either way, very, very cool thread, to which I wish only the best!

Sounds cool! As for fair: I'll post the combat details later, after we've started the in-character. Combat will be split into a "narrative" part and the "fair" part. What you describe can certainly fit both parts if it's a type of healing that reverses the state of something. It does fall into the category of being "cruel" if it also hurts for the person, which is natural, right? Healing is kind of painful.

Regalia are not immune to Dominant effects from others unless there is some magic that makes them immune to a specific thing. There will be some of that in the "fair" game.

I think I will go with Valefor, though I cannot view his pic/info on the OOC for some reason.

I updated the graphic yesterday (for me yesterday), but I reuploaded it now. Refresh and see if you can see it.

Can Regalia use Crystals for magic?

Hm, interesting question. I suppose they technically could, even if they don't need to. Perhaps there would be some kind of conflict with their Dominant if the Crystal is based on a rival Dominant. I'll have to ponder this.
