Thinking of a Tactician from either Busara or Shiva.
Why not, I'll throw in my hat.
“You’re right, Adam. This is crazy.” Kijani muttered, turning to Eskel. She fixed him with one of those uncanny golden gazes, eye to eye.

“Prince Eskel, I won’t claim to understand what you’re feeling right now. But – please understand, an uprising is a messy thing. It will not be unanimous. Some people will balk, some people will turn. It will lead to war on your planet. I hope you took our earlier conversation to heart, because if you do this, you will be the one pulling the trigger on it. You will have to be ready to lead, step up and truly fight. This endeavor could see your father dead, or worse, you.”

She sighed faintly, backing down a little. “If you are well and truly prepared for the consequences, then I’m on your side. If this is an impulse decision, then I will not be there.”
Jinny looked up as she was finally addressed by the older girl named Bumblebee. As soon as she had heard that Mikron had messed with new students before, her mind was set on revenge. She wasn’t even particularly angry – it had been fun until the jetpack had failed. It wasn’t going to be a big ordeal. But it was going to be embarrassing, oh yes.

“Oh, hey. Name’s Jin. I don’t have a callsign yet.” She smiled, trying to focus her attention. “And he didn’t have to do much convincing. I heard jetpack and kinda, ah… really wanted to try it. Didn’t think twice.” She shrugged. “It’s no big deal. Like you said, I’m not hurt or anything.” She offered a placating smile toward Mikron – or Gizmo, as he was being called. “It was a good prank.”

First rule of revenge. The target can’t know about it. For now, she would play nice.

“How long have you both been in this school? I can’t wait to start. I feel like I actually might learn something useful here.” No need to tell them that they could be her very first friends and she was deeply excited about that too. “How’s the food? Is it decent?” It was strange. In recent weeks, she’d wanted to eat everything in sight, and then some. Uncle said she was probably having a growth spurt, but she hadn’t noticed any new inches. Something else was up; she knew it, but she didn’t know what.

“What other secrets does this school have?”
Jin relaxed considerably as Lore adjusted her hairstyle. Her sister’s touch was very warm and soothing. It was so much nicer than when her ladies in waiting did it. They always made the bun too tight. “Much better, Lore. Thank you.” She smiled widely and took a delicate sip of the wine. It was delicious, and quite powerful, and had a different scent entirely than what they usually had with dinner. Sulhana was always good at choosing that kind of thing.

“A drinking contest, hm? I suppose I will join. Consider this my entry.” While she had grown used to the nonalcoholic cider in the silver cups, today was apparently the day she became an adult. She took another careful sip of the wine and watched as Vyarin sputtered over his. What was that about? Was he going to be alright? Lore was already on it, so she turned her attention to Hana as she approached.

“I wouldn’t have run away. Not from this. I’m supposed to be the bravest of all of us, aren’t I? So here I am.” She chuckled as she was engulfed in a hug. There had always been a bit of the dramatic in Hana, spymaster or not. She had always been the one to make up stories as children. Her speaking of governesses and new-dress days with four less than earnest young ladies brought a sparkle to her eyes and a grin to her face. It had been simpler, yes. Much simpler.

Jin actually lost composure and blushed when Sulhana mentioned the armor she had received. But she was surprised at her elder sister’s advice. “You think I should have? Perhaps. Then the men would know what they’re really working with, instead of… this.” Sometimes the fancy gowns felt like lying.

She approached Prince Gil, swept a curtsy and smiled. Before they could really get to talk, however, Hana announced that dinner was on the table. Despite her earlier nerves, the head-clearing workout from earlier had made her rather hungry now. It would be good to sit and eat.
It seemed luck was on their side. No sooner did they break through the wall than they ran into the rest of the group they’d been separated from. It looked like a few others had been upgraded just like Harriette had. Jin did not know what the hell was up with that, but really wanted to know.

Before Jin even had time to open their exhausted mouth and ask, that woman from earlier was speaking somewhere near them all. She quickly explained a plan to jump into the river, and it seemed like an absolutely insane idea. For one, they’d fall what, a hundred feet to the drop? For two, Jin had not swam in years. They knew how, but was likely well out of practice.

However, chaos burst out quickly after. Queen Fairy Bitch and then Pondwater were both on the scene at the same time! “Fuck… no more.” Jin murmured, very wearily. They hadn’t even stopped bleeding yet. Truth be told, their head was getting a little fuzzy. There had been no time to mention it as the three of them were trying to escape.

“Don’t have a choice, do I?” Wheezing faintly, they hauled ass toward the river with their remaining strength. It was a hard bit of running, but Jin knew that if they stopped, they would not be getting up again for a long while.

“Fuckfuckfuck-” They geared themselves up midway and leapt off the cliff with both feet, the fuzz in their head increasing rapidly. A startled scream escaped Jin as they fell and fell.

Then there was nothing, as the blood loss caught up to them. They passed out cold in midair, hitting the water with a graceless splash. The current carried them off as they began to sink.

Location: Under the Sea, Fighting
Interaction: Brightheart, Nymph, Zatara

Mirage spun in place as her carefully thought out plan started to splinter. Nymph couldn’t get the kelp to listen. Maybe if she had more time? Brightheart had to use one of her powerful sun holders to get that going. She had to return her attention to her enemy, so she summoned a second water ball and let it launch.

Suddenly, things started happening all at once.

They all got a hasty comm from Kila: “Team, quickly, my suit has been-” Then a rather terrifying silence.

Rain was next, giving a command before she could open her mouth. Since it was the right call, she didn’t go over his head. But she’d talk to him later.

She peered through the deep water, finally spotting a splash of green that wasn’t kelp. Nymph was near the creature’s mouth, trying to tie it shut. With vines coming from her head. That was brave and stupid in equal measure. “Nymph, move! We can’t have your suit faili – wait where is your suit?! NYMPH!” That was a sharp cry, even though the green girl couldn’t hear it.

She had been planning to get Nymph back to the ship with Metamorph. But without her helmet, Nymph was on her own. That was going to have to be addressed later as well.

Having no choice but to piggyback off of Rain’s command, she started swimming toward the squid’s mouth to back her up. “New plan! Brightheart, get Metamorph back to the sub immediately! Zatara, get on conjuring that squid, as big as you can get it! I have to back up Nymph!” This was turning into a disaster.

No, no - she had to trust in the team, and herself. Acclimate. Adapt. Overcome. She could do this, they all could. All they needed was a little more time. She started reeling back her staff, summoning air as she approached the great creature. “Sorry, old one!” She let out a full strike against the beak, backed by a speedy burst of air. It hit like a baseball bat smacking a home run.
Kijani watched fear, confusion and betrayal flit across Prince Eskel’s face in seconds. She wasn't fully sure what to do in the situation. No amount of royal training had a good line for 'your father has joined the empire and betrayed his blood'. "...I'm sorry, Eskel." Was all she could manage after several moments. It would be best to let him process.

Then, her gaze returned to Adam. He looked good. He’d put on muscle, and there was something different about him that she couldn’t quite quantify. “Adam, I… I never thought we’d reunite this way. It really is good to see you.” Were her hands shaking or was that just imagination. “If only we had a few minutes.” Where to even begin a desperately needed conversation?

“Hi Adam I think I fell for you when you weren’t looking. And I sure as stars wasn’t looking.”
“Hi Adam I apologize for everything I said in the past, what I’m saying now, and probably several in the future.”
“Hi Adam I missed the beard.”

Did the Force guide help with romantic issues?

There was very little outside sign of Kijani’s scrambled mind, besides an increased sweating.

“I… would love to talk to you, Adam.” Is what finally decided to come out of her mouth. She side eyed the distraught Eskel. “Privately. Hopefully.” Softly, she laid a shaking hand on his shoulder. She squeezed, as if making sure he wasn’t going to explode into mist and leave her alone. It probably hurt a little. “But first we need a plan, and I have none.” Grouping up had been her entire plan so far – now that was done and she was at a loss.

Mirage was happy to see the team spring into action under her orders. KJ had been correct; confidence was the way to go. As the team formed up around her, she focused herself on the trouble at hand. She slipped the staff from her back, but did not ready an element.

She responded to KJ first, her eyes never leaving their enemy. “What deters squid is bigger squid, usually. Since we’re not that, we’re going to get creative and become it. I have an idea but I don’t know if it will work. Nymph, there’s kelp below us, nice and strong. I need you to request it's help in tying up the squid.” She pointed out where to tie up the creature.

“Brightheart, once it’s nice and wrapped up, you’re going to strike it from the front. KJ, summon up a shark, I unfortunately may need you to cause it pain it if we can’t startle it with the first go. Zatara, stop singing that asinine song and focus. I’ll need you to magic up me a squid. I’m going to make it much, much bigger with my illusions. Before you ask, yes I could illuse my own squid, but at the size I want it, having two mages on hand is better.” Also, it would keep Zach’s brain in the game.

“Rain, Cybergirl, keep the doctor calm and help Talon watch the windows and radar. These things usually travel solo, but the ocean is not a predictable mistress. You all have your assignments. Let’s do this!”

Mirage took point directly in front of the squid, making sure to catch it’s eye. She summoned up a massive ball of water, nearly half the size of the sub. It wasn’t as straining as it would have been outside the ocean. Then she launched it at the squid’s eye and swam hard, bringing its attention further from the sub.

“Come on ugly, we’ll show you we’re no snack!”
Devika chuckled, knowing Roxy was not really up for socialization. It was interesting how similar she and her mother were in that regard.

"I don't know what we're going, actually." She said across the table to Roxy. "He won't tell me."

Tim hung up his apron and grinned, opening a small drawer in the kitchen. "Today, we are going to - drumroll please - Wacky World!"

He slapped a set of tickets on the kitchen table with all the enthusiasm of an old man with a winning domino hand. "Now, these are all day tickets, so we can arrive whenever you are ready. Roller coasters, twirly rides, Ferris wheels, popcorn, funnel cake, and the very dubious fried oreos. I can't wait! We haven't been since before Devika left!"

Mara poked her head in, still waking but smiling vaguely despite that. "Roxy, if you were wondering, this is where Devika gets her morning cheer from. I will never understand you two." She leaned up to kiss her husband's cheek and retreated back to the living room.

Devika was nearly in shock over the tickets. She knew Wacky World could get busy this time of year, and she wondered how well she would handle the crowds. Still, her father looked so pleased. She would hate to disappoint him. "Can't wait!"
