Elizabeth rolled her eyes, but grinned all the while. It was great to be back with her friend again, already loaded and ready to cause mischief. The idea of watching some smart brats try not to blow their fingers off sounded like a hell of a fun time, and she was standing back up before Fae had a chance to open the door.

"'Aye, the muggles have games they play on screens now." She said, remembering seeing shops that had demos for some truly marvelous things. Tetris, particularly, had intrigued her, seeing how easily Muggles seemed to be amused. "What about on your end? Anything new in the Wizard omg World?" Elizabeth asked, following close behind her friend.

Oliver met Tempest's eyes. "That thing," He started, "is a skrull, apparently. Some kind of Alien that can perfectly mimic anybody, and according to the great Tony Stark, DNA testing might identify them, but there's no surefire way." He explained, looking back down at the alien, "Shield has some information on them, but accessing it sets off alarm bells, one of them alerting the aforementioned Iron Man. I'd very much like all of us to be tested, if we can. If Roman was a skrull, any of us could be."

In the mean time, Oliver went to grab his gift, opening it up, and paying attention to those around him as he did. He didn't need to know who got him a gift, strictly speaking, but he was innately curious about the matter. In any case, he grinned when he saw what it was, and held it out in front of them for all to see. Puzzles were something he particularly enjoyed, and the fact that people had figured that out about him already genuinely made him happy. He was about to say something in thanks, but around then it seemed Maria had stolen the show, so to speak, and he wasn't about to intrude on that.

Trying desperately to ignore the Hulk behind her, Elizabeth hummed to herself as she finished sealing up the door. Soon, there was a nice, almost smooth wall there, rather than the door that stood there before. At this point, she was at least confident that the Phalanx would no longer be able to follow them. At this point, she was forced to deal with Lance. She bit her lip, unsure of how she could help here, not knowing what she could possibly say that might calm Lance down. Subduing him wasn't an option, given the strength he must possess.

Nervously, she quietly said, "Lance... That's your name right?" Truthfully, she didn't know him well at all, and at this point, she was just trying to say whatever might work, "I don't know what's triggered this in you, but please. If you can't calm yourself down now, not only will you put us at risk of dying." She took a careful step towards him, "Or yourself at risk of dying, but you'll put literally everyone on Earth in harm's way." There was an almost pleading tone in her voice, figuring that if she couldn't make a deeply personal appeal to him, the least she could do would be to try to resonate with whatever human part was left inside him, "We have a job to do, and a lot of people counting on us, let's get it done. Please."

It was that time of year once again, where school was starting and life was about to get considerably better and more interesting. Summers were always the worst for Elizabeth, being relegated back to the Muggle world, unable to share a peep of what she'd spent the last year of her life doing. Her orphanage wasn't as bad as it could be, but it always felt odd going back there. She wasn't about to be adopted by a muggle couple, especially at her age, and she never had the chance to keep any kind of bonds with her housemates, since she was only around for two months, and people came and went between her long absences. So, after a very boring summer, Elizabeth was ecstatic to be arriving at Kings Cross for the sixth time now.

"Of course I'm running late, hell of a way to start of the year." Elizabeth muttered to herself, hurrying through the station, looking for the station between stations that would take her where she needed to go. She had a trolley in tow, and she barely managed to dodge between muggles in her way. Her cat, , was not happy about the arrangement, loudly meowing from the carrying case he was trapped in. Hurriedly, she smashed her way through the dividing wall between Platforms 9 and 10, coming through to the blaring of the trains horn. Before long, she'd managed to slip herself onto the train, taking a haggard breath and a cough as she calmed herself down. She had a priority now, and it was to find her friend. Thankfully, the universe decided to be kind to her, and she saw Fae settled on her own. Shoving her way into the room, she unceremoniously started unloading her stuff. "Bloody train thinks it can leave without me." She started, without saying hello. "Fuckin' showed it I did, nobody abandons Elizabeth Flame." She shot a grin over to Fae, and, as she rested down on seat across from her, she laughed, "That'd make this year too easy for ya', wouldn't it?"
Arthur Stanford

Location:Zeus' Cabin

The funeral was not an easy thing for Arthur, but having friends and people to support him there let him make it through. Happy to have been granted a stay in the Zeus cabin along with Andy, he didn't speak much before passing out. He didn't have the mental or emotional energy for anything like that. He wish he were granted a restful sleep, but he wasn't. Thoughts of Ash kept him from sleeping for too long, between images of her body, and overwhelming sadness, he couldn't calm himself down. Tears stained the pillow he exhaustively clinged to, not so much waking up, as giving up on the notion of falling asleep.

Arthur looked over blankly at Andy as she asked if was hungry. He wanted to say no, to lay in bed. He wanted to have the strength to say yes, an get up ready to face the next day. Neither of those things, would be his course of action though, he just inhaled, and said, "I guess." This would be the hardest part, he told himself, continuing business as usual after what had happened. This is was the part nobody thought about, when considering the tragedy that is death. There's the shock of the loss of a loved one, and then the eternity after, so if he thought about it that way, he was halfway through all of this.

Mab got in the SUV, happy they'd all be riding together. They made themselves comfortable behind the drivers side seat, and closed the door, resting her side on in, once it was in place. Taking a moment to breath, they took stock of the situation. They were about to go and find out what the hell was going on, and, if Mab didn't like their story, beat the ever living shit out of them. They didn't like somebody having any kind of information on them, especially not a stranger, so this was setting off every alarm bell possible in their head.

As for Willow's question, Mab ran their hand through their hair as they thought. "I mean, parents lie to children all the time, if you think about it." They started, "Santa Claus, for example, or they don't tell you when things are going bad." They reasoned. "Children, they believe, are incapable of dealing with hardship, so they tell a comforting lie." That was the sort of thing Mab never wanted to do. They hated the idea of needing to resort to falsehoods to make somebody feel better. They could do that without having to resort to such linguistic brutality.

Watching Lance hulk out in front of her, Elizabeth took several steps away from him. She'd heard stories of what The Hulk had done before, and she didn't wanna lose another arm. That all being said, she had other things to deal with still. These Phalanx wouldn't be distracted for long, so she had to strike while the iron was hot, so to speak. Taking a few moments, she formulated a plan forward.

First things first, she had to get her arm back to normal, which she had no idea how to do. Holding it infront of her, she waved it about, hoping it'd just shift back. No luck. Giving an annoyed groan, she smacked the gun arm with her hand, giving percussive maintenance a shot. Apparently, that worked on Stark Tech, and sure enough, her arm vibrated a bit before giving her her hand back. Now, she could actually do something. Taking a moment to look around the room, she started gathering up scrap metal, about as much as she could carry. When she had enough, she ran over to the door, and shut it tight. Now, she just had to hope she could actually do what she was planning. Placing a piece of metal where the door met the wall, she traced two fingers around the edge of the scrap, flattening it out, and melting it over the seam between the door and wall. Breathing a sigh of relief, she continued this work on the door, trying to seal up as much as she could before they had to go.

Oliver blinked at Novikova, as she seemed to finally break down from the stress of the situation, or at least from the amount of alcohol she'd poured into her body. Playing along with it, he raised his hands in the air, and said "Guilty," sarcastically. He was pretty sure he wasn't a Skrull, but he didn't know that of anybody else, and he thought that reasonable made him uneasy. he gave a smile at Maria, and mouthed, "Thank you," glad somebody was acting reasonably.

He gave an exasperated smile in Novikita's direction. She was right, they hadn't done Secret Santa yet, and that was something he was looking forward to. He had a look of pity in his eyes at her last comment though, he was worried about her. Losing your job couldn't be easy, especially here. They all seemed to be friends, so losing your job meant losing your circle, in a lot of ways. That couldn't be easy. He held a cautionary hand towards her as she drank more, hoping Maria would get that bottle out of her grip.
