Arthur puckered his lips for a moment. He hadn't considered for the possibility that the prophecy could call for one of them and not the other. He really didn't like the feel of that. If the prophecy called for him, then he practically had to go, lest the world burn at his feet, but if it called for her, he'd be worrying constantly. This sort of codependency wasn't healthy, they needed to be able to exist as individual people, but he really didn't have the capacity and life experience to fully understand that. All he knew, was that he was scared to be seperated from her.

Arthur started to roll out the middle and said, "I get that, I just... It doesn't feel right to be able to do something, and not do anything, and I don't want people here to get hurt, and I don't..." Arthur didn't have all the words he needed, but he was trying, "So, where you go, I go, if I can. I'm not going to hold you back from helping, and I'm going to do what I can to make sure I don't hold myself back either." He said, committing to the idea of helping people. Selflessness was a difficult thing,or at least there was when stakes are involved, but he had to try.

Oli watched with a kind of morbid curiosity at the intellectual assault the kids were staging at the clerk. Now, he saw how utterly terrible he himself was as a child, and he could only imagine what it would be like to have to deal with dozens if not hundreds of little Oliver's every day. That being said, of course, Oli wasn't going to stop the kids. Curiosity was good, and incredibly fun to watch. Plus, it made for a good distraction, in case something hinky happened in Goose's search for his fellow Flerken. If he had to guess, they'd probably be problem children, and The clerks would be fine with letting them go, but still.

Following after Kwassi, Oli was absolutely amazed by the cornucopia of cats and kittens, or as he knew they were properly called, a clowder. He gave a look at one of the adorable ones in a cage, and a very big part of him wanted to adopt a cat that could not grow tentacles and eat them, but he also knew that today of all days, they had to stick to the mission. He might come back one day, or at least, go to a less terribly named pet shelter, and get himself a cat, but he honestly didn't know SHIELD's policy on having pets on premises, or how Goose would feel about other fluff balls getting attention.

Arthur still got blushy when Andy held his hands, but it was the giddy, happy kind, and not as much embarrassment. She and Arthur had gotten even closer over the past few months, and he was so happy he had her. As they ventured out into the snow, Arthur shivered, but kept up with her. The wind was brisk and cold against his skin, and his nose felt like it was going to freeze off, but he was just happy to be here with her. As they settled on a spot, Arthur started building the first mound of snow for the base of their snowman.

As they worked, Arthur started to talk, "So, What do you think comes next?" He asked, before realizing he should probably clarify, "I mean, with the weather, something is probably going on, and I guess... do you think there's gonna be another mission? Or another prophecy? And I guess..." Arthur trailed off, before wringing some snow off of his hands and looking down, "Do you wanna go, if there is? I will if you do, and I don't wanna stop you, but... I just don't want anybody to get hurt, and I don't know how to stop that from happening."

A part of the awkward nerd in Oli that remained deep in his core beamed at the fact that it seemed he had made a new friend in Kwassi. He called Oliver his friend! Of course, he had to play it cool now, and not devolve into hyperfixation on the minutia of different design choices and the like, but a part of him wanted to. His time with Niah was great, and he thought he found a friend in her, but she never struck him as a techie. In any case, Oli turned his attention slightly towards Peter Parker, and briefly remembered the trouble his existence had caused Oliver, when Deadpool had ruined their Christmas for him. He choose to keep his mouth shut, but a part of him felt odd around him.

And, as they reached the name of the shelter, Oliver realized that they were, in fact, in Missouri, and in Missouri everything was apparently terrible. Only in America, Oliver thought, would they name a pet shelter after the general of a rebel army that wanted to continue to enslave other human beings. Not that the British were particularly better about the whole, "Subjugating human masses" thing, but at least they stopped before America did. In any case, he agreed with Kwassi, they needed to get in and get out as soon as possible, even though it wasn't his own head at risk here.

As Lauryn appeared, Arthur was about to suggest that she join them as well, but it seemed instead that she was there to take Dem away from them. Arthur shrugged, if he had his own stuff to do, that was fine; especially if there was the chance that he would join them later. A thought briefly crossed his mind that, if anybody would be absolutely amazing at the creation of snowmen, it would be the Hephaestus kids, but then again, he didn't know if their crafty skills necessarily transferred to the building snowmen. It occurred to him that he didn't immediately know who the Greek God of winter is, and a part of him wanted to see if they could find any of those kids to make snowmen with them.

Arthur stuck his tongue out at Demi, "I'm not gonna get in trouble." He promised. In truth, he'd been sticking to rules and behavior pretty well, if only because he'd been too emotionally wrapped up in turmoil. Eventually, when he felt back to a hundred percent, he'd probably start wrecking some havoc, but he wasn't quite there yet. He turned a side glance towards Andy, and saying, ", what's the worst I could do playing in the snow?" He chuckled, before finishing off his food, ready to head out and brave the weather for the sake of fun.

It seems like nobody decided to directly answer any of his question, but it was fine, people were busy, and it didn't surprise him if his comments got lost in the flurry of decisions that had to be made right now. If Goose was coming with them, that told him everything he needed, to know, hopefully their fuzzy friend would be amenable to giving them an assist here. It was a side quest, but an important one for sure, and he'd be joining in on it, as Sparky seemed to have named the people she wanted to help, and he wasn't on that list. Who knows, maybe a speedy tech nerd could be of assistance in the world of Flerken hunting.

"I'll help on the search as well." Oliver piped up, following not far from Kwassi. He hadn't gotten much of a chance to know the man yet, everything was a little hectic at the start of the mission, between the splintering the team went to, and the emotional hellfire he had been facing. The man seemed smart though, and since Tempest had gone, he was a little short on close friends. "Hey uh," He said awkwardly as he clamored into the truck bed, "I don't think we ever actually introduced ourselves, I'm Oliver, nice idea with the watch, sorry if I seemed critical of it." He said, placing a hand behind his head as Oli sat across from him.

Arthur stuck his tongue out at Andy when she said she couldn't control the weather. Of course, given the choice of shooting lightning from his fingertips and being able to make the weather more pleasant, he'd probably select the former, especially given that they had to fight to survive. Arthur, as established, wasn't in love with the snow, but he was always down to hang out with Andy, and if she wanted to make a snowman, a snowman would be made. "Yeah, for sure, let's do it!" He said with a smile.

As Demi returned, Arthur smiled as his hair was ruffled. Demi was, in a lot of ways, like an older brother he never had. He liked his friendliness in a way he might not have with a lot of other people; it was comforting and refreshing. In the times since his first mission, he really felt like he had carved out a found family for himself here. Arthur tacked on, "Demi, do you wanna make snowmen with us?" Looking up at him, not wanting to leave him out.

Oliver shook his head for a moment. Whatever brainfog was in his head needed to get out before he fucked up in a way that actually counted. Maybe i twas the worry of breaking into the most secure building on the planet, maybe it was the realization that the skrull situation was finally coming to an end one way or another. Either way, they needed smart Oliver right now, not "Opens a door unleashing with Terrigen Mist and almost kill his teammates" Oliver, and he was far too close to the latter right now. In any case, Oli could see that something was making Sparky upset, he figured he should stay away from that.

Following up on the Flerkens, Oli asked, "Is there any good way to tell a Flerken from a regular cat that won't cause a public panic?" He looked Goose up and down, not really seeing anything that made him seem different on the surface from a regular housecat, "Are they all orange at least? Oh! Could Goose tell them apart?" That seemed liked the most obvious solution, Flerkens had to be able to identify one another, if they couldn't how would they make more Flerkens? This hinged, of course, on Goose being cool with being their Flerken detector, and Oliver had no idea how Goose would feel about helping.

Seven months was a lot of time, and Arthur was something vaguely resembling normal by now, his trauma at least processed, even if its scars still raked him. He didn't even try to talk to his "father" though, while they were visiting for the solstice. That still wasn't something he was ready to attempt, regardless of if it would have been good for him or not. The most pressing thing to him right now was the weather. He absolutely hated winter storms and the cold, snow was wet and cold and got everywhere. His cabin, being a practical mausoleum, didn't help matters, as it wasn't even a thematic departure from the outside.

Trudging through the snow, he lost no time getting to the dining pavilion. Getting food in him would at least help deal with the cold, and seeing Andy always made things better. Stepping in, he rubbed his hands together, trying to warm them back up. He instinctively looked towards Zeus' table, and right after grabbing an orange, he headed straight for it, sitting across from Demi and next to Andy, already peeling the fruit he grabbed. "Morning Andy, Demi." He started to say, as Demi bolted off. Popping an orange slice in his mouth, and shot a grin at Andy, before saying, "Zeus is technically god of the sky right? Does that mean I can blame you for the weather?" He ribbed lightly, before resting his head on his hands and his eyes on her.

As the team opted to go with the EMP design, Oli shrugged. He thought it was dangerous, but if it worked, that would be enough. Deployment of a virus carried risks too, of course, they were just of a different kind. He trusted himself to be able to write it in such a way that it left no trace, but that was how he was. He would rather have something fail due to a mistake on his part than run the risk of unknowns or on site malfunction cause issue. He'd help how it could with the watch design; he was no stranger to engineering, even if he preferred to operate in the software space. "EMP it is then." He agreed

As for the idea of Niah and Sparky running tech, Oli hesitated. He supposed he was fine for field ops, and he had his share of experience there, but most of that was combat, not the type of deception that would be required here. That being said, between Sparky's pregnancy, and Niah's newfound monoplegia, he couldn't disagree that they should sit out. Besides, he wasn't the same agent he was when he joined Shield. Between the newfound powers and changes he had to make to his personality to survive, he was confident he could at least function in the field well enough.
