CLASSLysander is a Cleric of the Frost God. She has been blessed with ice magic. As a cleric of the frost god she is well-versed in the various prayers, services, and final rites of her faith. In times of need, she can call on her god in a time of need to cover an area in a persistent blizzard.
AppearanceLysander Shadowthorn, the war leader of the frozen nation, commands attention with her imposing and statuesque presence on the icy battlefield. Towering above her comrades at a height of six-feet two-inches, she is never lost in a crowd nor is she ever mistaken for someone else. Lysander has a curvy figure that was sculpted through years of combat training, enduring the harsh elements of her homeland, and through the genetics of her parents.
Her eyes, a piercing shade of icy blue, mirror the frozen waters of her homeland. The gaze that emanates from these frigid orbs holds the depth of someone who has weathered the storms of both leadership and death. Lysander has long white hair that flows down her back. She is clad in battle-worn armor forged from frost-resistant materials, and it is adorned with intricate engravings and symbols, and the symbol of her people the arctic fox. As such, she stands as a visual representation of her frozen nation's tenacity.
Suspended at her side is a magical war horn, intricately decorated with runes and carvings. This horn is her fated gift, and she carries it like she would any other horn. It is often hidden under the thick cloak of fur she is always spotted wearing.
HISTORYLysander life has always known hardship. Her lands are in a near-perpetual state of winter. The lands are covered in snow for eight months out of the year, and the people face a near-constant freeze during that time. As such, the people who have learned to call this place home have had to be adaptive and strong. Even from a young age, the lessons of her people were drilled into her. By age five she was expected to handle her fair share of the chores, by age seven she was expected to learn how to track and help the hunters, and by age twelve she was expected to be able to hunt on her own. As she grew, more and more was put on her shoulders and they grew strong as a result. It was at this time she began to spend more and more time at the Temple of Frost. She had shown signs of having frost magic in her blood, and her family knew that she would need to learn to utilize it to advance in their society.
When she came of age, she began to fight. Whether in the pub, street, or on the battlefield Lysander quickly proved her abilities. With her life dedicated to the Frost God, and her skills in a fight, she rose through the ranks and was given her first command at age 19.
In the two years since, she has suffered through harsher winters, hard-fought victories, and several defeats. She was out on a hunt when the fates visited her. At first, she thought she had gone crazy in the cold. There were three stags, but each one looked off. And no matter how many arrows she fired, or spells used, she could never catch a single one. Eventually, they led her to a clearing where her fated gear was resting on a rock in front of her. When she grabbed hold, she was brought to The Fates themselves and told of the impending doom.
Lysander took much convincing. Eventually, The Fates were able to get her on board and she left for her fated quest
FEARSDespite her commanding presence and unwavering leadership, Lysander Shadowthorn harbors a hidden fear that lies deep within her heart. It is the fear of failure, and it is the fear that her failure will lead to her people's destruction.
Lysander's fear is rooted in the concern that her decisions, strategies, or actions might lead to irreversible consequences for those who look to her for guidance. The idea of being unable to safeguard the well-being of those under her care haunts her, driving her to constantly strive for perfection on the battlefield, and in personal matters.
While she outwardly projects strength and determination, this fear serves as a silent motivator, urging Lysander to continuously hone her skills, make strategic decisions with utmost care, and ensure the survival and prosperity of those in her care. It is a fear that she faces with resilience, but one that occasionally creeps into her thoughts, a constant reminder of the high stakes of leadership and the vulnerability that comes with shouldering the burden of an entire nation.
GOALSLysander’s goal are the safety of her people first and foremost. Every action she takes, every decision she makes, is done with that goal in mind. It is what drove her onto the fated quest. While her homeland is far from where she must travel, it is a journey that has to be made now to ensure her people do not feel the corrupting influence of The Maestros magic.
As well, as the maiden of the frost, she wants to bring a never-ending winter to both her lands and the entirety of the world. She, and her people, believe that to truly worship her god is in the cold, and she has a goal to bring that winter to all.
SECRETSLysander is secretly performing spells to bring about a never-ending winter wherever she travels. While these alone will not bring about her goals, it is a step towards that eventual truth. She plans to try and locate powerful magical artifacts along the way and use them to fuel her magic when the time comes.
Lysander occasionally experiences cryptic visions of an alternative future, diverging from the threads of fate woven by the Fates themselves. These visions hint at unforeseen challenges, unexpected allies, and the possibility of diverging destinies. She keeps these glimpses of an uncertain future to herself, grappling with the ambiguity they bring to her already complex role in Fate's plan.
FLAWLysander has always had issues delegating tasks when in command, even if someone could do something better than she could. This has led to a few of her defeats in battle
She is also a diplomatic disaster waiting to happen. If a situation requires a polite, and gentle touch, she would come in with a fist. As such, she will ruin the chances the party may have at finding a peaceful trip, a successful heist, or even winning over allies. Even when she tries to pay someone a compliment, it can come across as an insult.
SkillsLysander excels in strategic planning and battlefield tactics. Her keen understanding of terrain, weather conditions, and the strengths and weaknesses of her forces and adversaries allows her to make sound tactical decisions in the heat of battle.
As a skilled warrior, Lysander is proficient in various forms of combat, including swordplay and hand-to-hand combat. Her strength, agility, and mastery of weaponry make her a formidable force on the front lines, leading by example in the thick of the fight.

This connection enhances her strategic capabilities and provides unique advantages against supernatural threats.

ABILITIESAs a cleric of the Frost God, Lysander is able can wield powerful cold spells.
Wind Chill - Lysander can call upon the winds of her homeland to buffer, and slow her enemies in a fight. The howl of the wind can also drown out much noise as well, preventing her enemies from engaging back with any sense of coordination. To use this, she has to recite a chant for her god and ask for his blessing. Once given, she can cast his spell
FATED WEAPONLysander’s fated weapon is the Blizzard Embrace and it takes the form of a warhorn. The warhorn is forged from a combination of enchanted materials native to the frozen realm of the frost god. The main body is carved from the tusk of a mighty frost wyrm, known for its strength and icy nature. It is adorned with runic symbols, which wrap around the horn, and is kept on her body by the fated strands that make up its strap..
FATED POWERThe Blizzards Embrace bestows the power of The Howl of the Storm. The ability provides protection from The Maestros musical influence and a resistance to the cold of her own spells. In order to use these powers she has to blow through the warhorn, which produces a loud sound, and she has to do this three times in quick succession The protection lasts anywhere from three to five minutes, and it depends on how precisely she can time the horns call.
