You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another Amalgam Universe themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, Haunt, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

Hawk/Dove would be a duo I wouldn't make you split up, but I'm still not gonna do multiple characters for the time being as far as the rest of the universe. If you want to do the Guardian that's cool, but he'd be taking the place of Hawk/Dove.

Yeah man just PM me the sheet and I'll take another look. I'm sure it works, you've always written CS's around whatever I give you guys pretty well without much need for any alterations.

@bluetommy2 I think you changed him up enough to work. I might need to double check and make sure his stuff fits with Superman's timeline. Krypton would've exploded in 1938. IDK how that could change your guy up, but you did mention Phantom Zone stuff. Maybe he escaped into the Phantom Zone?

Secret ID: Scott 'Jimmy' Hendricks

Age: 27

Powers: regular human under a lightly armored flight suit. Scott also pilots an experimental plane called the Redwing.

Weaknesses: standard human weaknesses, his armor makes him about twice as durable. Anything other than small arms fire can mess him up.

Personality: bold, honorable, witty

Appearance:

BRIEF Bio:

Scott was your average guy growing up, played baseball a few years, pretty standard middle America stuff. However he was just in a small town in California. When he got out of high school, the young man immediately wanted to get his pilot's license and went to school for drafting and engineering as well at a community college on the outskirts of Coast City. Over the course of the next four years, Scott earned his engineering degree and met his best friend and mechanic Judah Marlow. After graduating Scott was rocked when his parents died in a house fire. He was given a check for $750,000 for the insurance claims. After putting the cash in several acounts, Scott went on the road and traveled up the coast for the next year or so. He saw Seattle, Star City, Denver, Dakota, before finally coming back to Coast City.

When he returned he bought some farm land that had recently been auctioned off and moved into the barn Roadhouse style save for the wifi he needed to run all his tech and such. Scott paved an air strip on his own, and within another seven months had a successful private plane operation with two different sized planes and a secretairy named Kaley.

After romance started to bloom between Scott and Kaley, his friend from college showed up talking about how they could change the world. Upon showing Scott what he'd been working on at STAR Labs, Judah mentioned some alien metals he'd aquired from the Lab. He wanted to fund the building of an experimental plane using the metals but didn't want STAR Labs to own it. Scott aggreed and the Redwing has been in the air now a half dozen times and out maneuvered some of the best at Edwards Air Force Base.

Now however, the community college where the two friends met is being overtaken by Starros. The authorities only got close enough to become infected themselves and the inside of the larger buildings seem to have some organic tech growing in them.

Notes:

* Like I said, a little bit Tony Stark, a little bit Hal Jordan.

* If I didn't mention before he'll also carry a couple pistols with different types of rounds.
Explosive rounds, hollow points, and non lethals.

* Might put the Hawkman symbol on his eventual flying suit somewhere.

The OOC is up. Finished character sheets need to be sent to me through PM's for final approval. Only gonna take 6 or 7 of the best sheets for now to get the game going, and I'll likely accept a couple more the first couple weeks of the IC in case of any dropouts.

A new alien menace has began infecting several citizens in Central City [Kansas] and it's sister city across the bridge Keystone City. The Superman hasn't been seen in weeks and is thought to be off world. Batman stays in Gotham and is only ever seen at night. And Wonder Woman was last seen in Europe after the new King and Queen were announced. Central City and Keystone City aren't the only towns infected either. After just three weeks, other large cities in America began seeing strange zombie like trances in several dozen people. Midway City [Michigan], Coast City [California], Star City [Washington], and St. Roch [Louisiana] have all been infected with what appears to be 'alien starfish'.

Batman has already come into contact with what the media is calling 'Starros'. He's tracked most of them to a temp service agency down near the Gotham Harbor.

In this RP, players will get the chance to recreate some of the bigger DC properties in a similar fashion to what happened when the Golden Age was replaced by the Silver Age. The Atom went from being a little person with an atomic punch to what we have today in Ray Palmer using tech to shrink to atomic size. Green Lantern changed from a man in a cape with a supernatural ring of power into a space cop armed with the same type of ring only in an entire Corps. I know what you guys are thinking. "How is this unlike any game that came before?" And the answer is simple. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman will remain mostly unchanged though I may make some tweaks to their histories [they're Gods and Monsters inspired]. EVERYTHING ELSE IS DETERMINED BY YOU. While I'm sure some folks will take more high profile characters, that's not to say you can't reimagine a lesser known character. While we'll more than likely form a team of some kind, though it will probably be Justice League themed, it doesn't have to be made up of reimagined Justice Leaguers. You wanna make Clayface a superspy who works for ARGUS? Perhaps Blue Beetle is something of a size manipulator and shrinks and does stuff ilike the Atom? What if the Flash was reimagined as somebody who manipulates light to a much more basic degree than standard Green Lanterns, like what almost happened in the 80's and after the Crisis? You wanna recreate the Joker and make him a hero and/or a female? Go for it! Maybe you've had an idea to make Martian Manhunter a little more like a bounty hunter ala Boba Fett? That's cool too.

Here's what I've got for the Big Three so far...

Superman - Crash landed in Kansas in 1938, he took the name Clark Kent for a little more than twenty years until he became adjusted to how things worked on Earth. He began operating as Superman and was dubbed the first metahuman in 1960. In 2017, it looks like he might be twenty years older. The only signs of age are his facial hair and attitude. Built a fortress in Antarctica and saves the world when he has nothing else to do. Lately he's defended larger cities such as Tokyo, Metropolis, Coast City, Paris, and Cairo.

Batman - Doctor Thomas Wayne was a brilliant scientist and chemical researcher in Gotham who was looking into making a pill to grant longer lifespans [inspired by the ageless Superman]. After some experiments go horribly wrong, Wayne is left in a vampire like state and must feed on the blood of his enemies every so often to survive. At first he hunted criminals at night to survive, but since 2012 he's turned his nightlife into a war on crime.

Wonder Woman - The most like her original, Princess Diana was chosen to go out into man's world in 2014 after living on the hidden Paradise Island with her Amazon sisters for nearly seven centuries. The Amazons are more technologically advanced in this universe, WW's sole weapon now being a sword fashioned with Mother Box tech and capabilities.

REMEMBER!

You can take ANY DC Comics character or concept and completely change it up to suit your taste. Any enemies I introduce in this after the Starros will be tied to Justice League-centric baddies as well as several of Superman's enemies and factions within the DCU. ARGUS is still our answer to SHIELD, STAR Labs is still a thing, and Lex Luthor is president in Trump like fashion. He demands to see 'Superman's legal papers' for instance because the world doesn't know Superman was actually the first alien to call Earth home.

I thought about universes like Stan Lee's DCU [Earth 6]:

As well as Earth 9, the Tangent universe:

... whenever I was toying with the concept of things being similar mostly in name only. In the Tangent universe for example, Green Lantern is a woman with a Lantern on a staff that raises the dead. And the Flash is a girl with light based powers. The Atom of that universe is an atomic powered juggernaut.

With Stan Lee's DCU, Superman was a stranded space cop, Green Lantern was connected to the energies of the Tree of Life, and Shazam was like a demon or something.

You guys can take these concepts and go nuts. My Hawkman is meant to be something of a combo of Hal Jordan and Tony Stark in terms of being a pilot/inventor along with his bff who will likely be something like Tom Kalmaku. I also took a little inspiration from the Rocketeer as well.

So... anybody out there wanna take the DCU and reimagine some characters? Interested players can check out the Interest Check. WIP character sheets can be posted there as well as general discussion, final draft character sheets should be sent to me through PM's for approval before being posted here in the character tab.

Working on a Guardian character. Haven't quite figured out what organization gives him the Guardian armor and shield yet. I got part of the idea for the background of my version of him from M.A.N.T.I.S. Loved that show on Fox.

Still tweeking his personality as well. Not quite sure if I want him to be bitter and resentful or not.

I love the Guardian. Probably one of my more favorite underused DC characters. I hate how 'James' Olsen on Supergirl's tv series is the Guardian. It basically ruined the whole show for me. Heaven forbid if a side character in one of the CW shows isn't their own superhero or working for a government agency or some crap.

And holy shit you mentioned MANTIS. That was an awesome show as a kid, can't believe somebody else here has even seen it LOL.

EDIT: I checked into the Phantom by DC, holy shit. Reading up more on the Phantom's history, apparently he was almost called the GRAY GHOST. I wonder if that's where Batman TAS got the idea for GG...? DC published the character for 13 issues, then in '95 Marvel produced a 3 issue mini as well as a tie in comic to the Phantom 2040 cartoon series. If you still wanna use the Phantom that's cool, especially if it's the female version you pictured. I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a male or female in the CS, but I didn't know he was a DC character until you mentioned it.

Alright, I've got a concept to throw at you:

The Red Hood... as a Hero for Hire/Bounty Hunter roaming North America in a shitty old truck, living paycheck to paycheck subsisting off of diner-food, cigarettes and an estimated gallon of coffee every day between jobs helping the police round up criminals ranging from the ordinary to the superhuman with (mostly) non-lethal munitions and MacGuyvered gadgets.

Hell, might even throw in a backstory involving being a washout from some universally-beloved (and highly marketable) teenage superhero team that was tossed out for not being good enough, leading to him growing up to be a magnificent wreck of a human being who disdains most people who run about in tights and capes on national television, even though he still shares (most of) their morals and has become something of a folk-hero in his own right.

Red Hood as a washed up teen hero vigilante sounds good. Just don't make his alias Jason Todd.

~KL~
@Holy Soldier Yeah that's more or less what I intended. Some of us can still have ties to one or two characters, but the idea was to take a DC concept and basically make your own OC inspired by them. Only the trinity [Superman, Batman, and WW] had any similarity to their comic counterparts. However in this universe Superman's been around since the early 40's and was an adult already when he landed, Batman is Thomas Wayne and a man-made vampire, and the Amazons WW hails from are more tech oriented.

~KL~
@GiskGotta make posts to level up. It's no biggie. I'm doing Multiplus stat card right now, I did one for him before for a GLC rp with stats a few years back but can't find the damn thing...

He'll basically have two different stat cards. His level 1 duplicates, and then he'll be like a level 3 himself with a signature attack.
