Bio

You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another Amalgam Universe themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, Haunt, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

The Justice League had been active for several years. Their membership included Superman, Batman, Vixen, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), and Robot Man. Most of them were already in their 40's, Batman was rumored to be in his 50's. The team took down threats such as Brainiac, the rogue General Eiling, Solomon Grundy and an army of the undead, a Thanagarian Cult, and dozens of others. Weeks ago, in a battle with the alien tyrant Despero, both Vixen and Robotman were killed in action. Robotman COULD have survived, but the three eyed behemoth crushed his head and destroyed the original brain of Cliff Steele.

One year ago...

The Justice League extended its reach and took in several new heroes to form the Justice League Unlimited. Over the course of the first several weeks the League learned about the existance of a similar group, composed of super criminals, calling themselves the Society and brought together by the devious Lex Luthor Jr. Shortly after the Society made themselves known, the Question deduced that the super criminals were after artifacts composed of a mysterious Nth metal. During a mission that saw a group going to the destroyed remains of Atlantis, Ravager was seemingly killed by an unseen attacker and left for dead. Her father, Deathstroke, would later abduct her from JLU headquarters to help her recover on his own terms. Bulleteer would also be attacked in Metropolis and taken out of action after taking trauma to his head after the enemies of the League were informed by Lobo that his helmet was composed of Nth metal. Ambush Bug was killed during an attack on the League's HQ, and the heroic Clayface was torn apart as well.

Over the course of the last year the League would continue to evolve. Superman would be defeated and killed by the monster called Doomsday. Green Lantern has retired after finding out his reformed enemy turned fiancee Thorn was pregnant with twins. And Batman has seemingly stepped down from the League as well but not before sponsoring Clutch as the new wheelman for the Justice League Unlimited.

Present day...

The League still moves forward after everything they've been through. Supergirl and Blue Beetle have stepped up to lead this new era of the team, however a crashed spaceship would change everything. Discovering the hero called Starman in the wreckage, the League was warned that white Martians have began invading the planet and one of their own has already been replaced by a Martian! Who will be revealed as the traitor? Where did Starman come from?

Starting with eight players, teams of four would each get paired with one of the big guns [Superman, GL, or Batman] for two different missions. RECRUITING WILL STILL CONTINUE. The next four players accepted would take the remaining big gun for another mission. And guess what? RECRUITING WILL STILL CONTINUE. If we go beyond 16 players that'd be awesome. If not? After the first two or three missions the smaller groups would get switched around and any new recruits waiting for their group of four would just get cycled into the larger cast. Like if we had fourteen players and the last two weren't on mission and were waiting for more players, they'd get cycled in after the missions start ending. Another big gun might come into play like Martian Manhunter depending on what sort of characters you guys bring in or create.

About the mentors...

Superman - He's the first superhero. The reason it's even called a super-hero. His career seemingly began in the 1970's, however reports indicate he may have been active as far back as WWII. Same basic powers of Superman. He makes everybody in the room wanna stand a little bit taller. A big blue boyscout to this day, he has a line he'll never cross and ALWAYS finds another way. He's pretty much the big gun of the metahuman/alien archetypes. He's only been Clark Kent the last twenty years or so of his life on Earth. He obviously ages slower in the universe than past incarnations.

Batman (mask off) - Same billionaire playboy philanthropist, his career just began in the late 90's and has lasted nearly two decades. He is to the gadgeteers and standard human heroes what Superman is to metas and aliens. The big gun. Basically picture Ben Afleck's Batman here just with more gray hair.

Green Lantern - Alan Scott is the resident GL, and the ONLY GL in this universe. I'm staying away from the GLC and all the rainbow brigade Corps. His career stretches over the last decade or so and a few years back he absorbed the energies of his magic ring internalizing his power. He's the big gun of the supernatural/magic archetypes. He's also based in Gotham and mostly patrols during the day when Batman isn't being Batman.

Accepted players can go ahead and repost your CS's in the Character Tab. Keep checking this opening post for GM Notes concerning the upcoming teams and missions.

GM Notes - 7/13/17 - OOC is UP! Still working out some kinks in the over arching plots and still working with a few people on Character Sheets. The IC will be posted sometime this weekend.

They were also featured in stories during Batman Beyond 2.0 that had Terry in college. There's no rule that says they have to quit being criminals at a certain age. Why would ANY criminal still be tearing it up with a hero or two after the first few times they're arrested? I'm not trying to over analyze every aspect. Some things might not make sense. The kid with the skull face and jack o lantern shirt came back as well as a rival leader of the local Jokerz gang [there were something like 200 gangs of them across the globe under the leadership of the Joker King, Dana's crazy brother].

This is also our first actual taste of being a team in action, so a smaller threat was needed. If you want I'll bring the Red T's into this and then they can all just be random losers.

A good pair of goons is a good pair of goons. Supposedly they were still at it when Terry was older in Epilogue the JLU eps with Chronos where they mentioned being the ones to kill GL Kai-Ro.

@Prince Of Seraphs It's clearly a ten of spades LOL. You put clubs in your opening post!

@Demon Shinobi My favorite line out of the last few RP's I've been in:

"It was probably why he'd chosen red. Green was too painful."

Z had yelled at his brother because he didn't appear to be at the elevator with the others. However, he didn't notice his uniform wasn't under glass and looked down to see his brother had shifted into a squirrel. Heading out everyone had their own ideas about how to get to the docs. G-Man might be able to get them there in one piece, but Phantom Girl's way was a little more reckless. J had a thing for that. Sure, he could've shifted into a dinosaur, or an elephant, or another large land animal to get them all there. In squirrel mode still his nose picked up the scent of Phantom Girl's bandage.

"Is she hurt?" he thought.

The team arrived at the harbor and drove right through the 5th Precinct's barricades, taking out several of the Jokerz. They sprung into action in their own ways... Red Arrow with his bow, G-Man with his gravity manipulation, and Zack jumped out of the car shifting into his plant form. Jeremy shifted into a T-rex and began scaring the piss out of every clown faced goon within twenty feet of him.

Zack, in his plant form, grew a thick layer of bark over his body, giving himself a bulkier looking build and increased strength. With this Zack leaped into action as he stretched a tree trunk sized fist out and knocked two gang members into a nearby wall with enough force to incapacitate them. Suddenly Zack hatched a plan.

"Hey Animal!" Zack yelled as he quickly made his way away from his brother and grew one of his arms into a long tree like club "Play ball!"

The longer haired twin picked up one of the Jokerz with his enormous T-rex mouth and tossed the goon over to his brother for a direct hit. The main Joker, who called himself J-Man, was dancing on a yacht with Judge Conroy's wife while the chaos erupted. The judge was forced to watch as he was tied up and being watched over by the Dee Dee Twins. These particular twins weren't much of a problem when something made one of them lose their weaponized marbles. That something being Batman in stealth mode.

Surely the team didn't think Batman wouldn't check this out.

@Weird Tales Clutch isn't on the same level as Batman and Ironman... yet. And I mentioned before how Lex Jr. will be an enemy at some point... he's not gonna let the corporate hero have the best stuff! Which is why I had Batman taking an interest in your boy. Here's what I'm thinking... by 'episode 8' or so Wayne Industries sponsors your boy after LexCorp stock goes down and he becomes the chief pilot for the JLU and get's a couple new vehicles including a sky-cruiser and an air-cycle both with refurbished New Gods tech.

That way the team gets transportation across long distances, you get the sponsor you wanted, etc. Win/win.

Everyone will have their moments with the episodic adventures with rotating smaller teams. And with a potential cast of 13+ players this is looking to be on the same scale as the show at the very least!

I'm still hammering out some details in the opening post of the OOC but you guys keep this thread going.

@Weird Tales Just know that I'm gonna have that car get wrecked more than Red Tornado's android bodies LOL

I moved the story along quite a bit between Damocles sending the info, Batwoman's group interrogating Trogg, and Bolt and Batwing getting broken by Bane. Please don't bite my head off and elaborate wherever you feel it's needed. It's coming up on the final act so the reveal with Skeleton Jack was needed and if anybody's been paying attention to clues in my posts you may have guessed who he was already.

I'm interested in seeing Kaze' reaction. If the group tries to take on Jack would Kaze fight against him or take his side since they've been fighting side by side for awhile now?

Batman was too late. The speedster who agreed to help track Bane was dead. The body was used like a baseball bat to strike Batwing out of the air and the young hero's armor was severely damaged but Luke was still alive. Then Batman got the same message that Batwoman and her team had received: possible location of kidnapped victims was a rundown old gym on the outskirts of town. Batman didn't know Batwoman's group was sticking together for the most part so when he responded for everyone to meet him a couple blocks away from the location it wasn't that big a deal. First, he had to get Luke medical attention...

Across town...

Skeleton Jack and Kaze managed to get info in the form of an address. It wasn't something the drug dealer went mouthing off about, however Jack just looked in the guy's phone records and saw something about an old gym on the far side of town on the corner of Johns Ave. How on Earth could the two of them get across town without Jack's cycle or some kinda car...

"How far do you think you can carry me on your back, Reptar?" Jack joked noticing the look in the giant creature's face.

Later, across from Johns Avenue...

Batman, Batwoman, and the rest of the allies were on the rooftop waiting for the others. Jack and Kaze didn't have communicators, so Batman wasn't even sure they would see the pair. Until he did...

"We may have to make our move without.... what the..?" Batman noticed the two coming towards the gym fast and before they could blow the team's cover Batman shot a grappling hook and put himself between them and the gym that was still a few hundred yards away. The current time was 1:37 am.

"What's your game, Jack? Why would you run in there like a man possessed?" Batman questioned as some of the group met him down in the street.

That was when Skeleton Jack did something nobody expected and removed his helmet.

"Because my daughter's in there, Bats." he replied after revealing himself to be Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. "Now get the hell out of my way..."
