Bio

You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another Amalgam Universe themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, Haunt, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

So far Power Rangers has got the most interest... anybody else?

Man, I really want to do some magical girl stuff right now so the Sailor Moon one might be fun... Keep wanting to do a Power Rangers/Super Sentai RP too but those never seem to work out for me but hey, why not give it another go?

So yeah, those two interest me the most right now I guess.

The comic series 'Go Go Power Rangers' is swapping the colors of the classic series characters and this will somehow tie in to the introduction of the Green Ranger power coin and the original evil Tommy Oliver. That inspired my renewed interest in the franchise. Shattered Grid was also ****ing insane!

I'm feeling a bit nostalgic.

Not even gonna lie. I've got tons of ideas for RPs but generally interest checks can be slow depending on holidays, school schedules, etc. Some of these ideas are ripped directly from childhoods of decades past but each offer something different and unique and isn't my usual DC Comics themed roleplay. I just hope to find enough interest to get one of these going LOL. For the better part of the last year or so I've mostly just stuck to my one large cast JLU/DCU rp series and after so much DC I need something different. My current DCU rp is still going, however with the right cast and maybe a Co-GM for the concepts with larger cast I believe I can work in another RP. Below is a short list of stuff I haven't tried in awhile that may have some renewed interest with all the buzz surrounding movies, reboots, toys, comics, and cartoons. I've also listed how many players I'd need for each RP and how much of the iChecks for each idea is developed. Sound off if you're game for one or more of these!

Silverhawks - Set in the not so distant future, this RP would take place fifteen years after the original team of 'Hawks took down the mob in the Limbo Galaxy. The RP would see the 3rd batch of Silverhawks set up shop in a new galaxy that was once home of the Thundercats with the Third Earth playing a key factor in the setting. Familiar faces such as mutants from the planet Plunn-Dar, as well as presumably the last of the Thundercats... Panthro would tie into the first arc. This is equal parts Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek, and Robocop. This would require five players, six max. (iCheck Status: Completed)

G.I. Joe: Alpha Team - Basically players will get to pick a GIJ character of the last however many decades and reimagine them for a story in the modern day. In the same vein as the 80's series, I'm gonna have one celebrity character among the NPC roster I'm sure the majority of you know. Since Sargent Slaughter (a pro wrestler) and the Fridge (a pro football player) both crossed over into G.I. Joe... rather than face claim Dwayne Johnson for a character... Dwayne the Rock Johnson will be himself and part of the team. The story itself would revolve around old 'Adventure Team' era characters and the nuclear menace Doctor Isotope. Six to eight players max. (iCheck Status: In-Development)

X-Men Blue & Gold - Half of the game will focus on the school aspect while the other will be more focused on the lives of some of the older mutants among Xavier's current team that faces off against the evil mutants of the world. Now that's not to say the two won't mingle occasionally. At some point a battle may go down on site at the Xavier School and the students may have to take shelter in an underground X-Bunker. Such a setting could have a student step up and join the codenamed and costumed X-Men. Who knows how things could play out?! Eight to ten players max. (iCheck Status: Beginning Stages)

Sailor Moon - A dashing vigilante in the Chinatown area of Manhattan (NYC) grows worried that a looming threat will arrive 'before the princess is found..'. Five girls in and around NYC develop the ability to transform into champions of justice, but which one is the Moon Princess? A twisted and strange looking tree sprouts up out of nowhere in Central Park and plant creatures keep popping up all around the city also looking for the princess. You can also design your own Sailor HERE!! Six to seven players max, and I already call dibs on the Tuxedo Mask wannabe LOL. (iCheck Status: Beginning Stages)

Power Rangers - To somewhat open the floodgates for creativity, this RP would mostly be a combination of the classic 'Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers' with a dash of Dino Charge added in to open up more dinosaurs, colors, and possibilities. The RP would open with five Rangers, Zordon, Alpha 5, and an original big bad style threat as well as minions to go against the group. An evil Ranger would come into play early on and could eventually go good or stay bad. An additional good Ranger could always be brought in later on. Six to seven players max. (iCheck Status: Beginning Stages)

I've got a couple more iChecks already completed but they don't fit the Saturday Morning theme and some are tied to the same old DC concepts. It should also be noted any volunteers to Co-GM any one of these games would greatly increase the chances of that particular RP coming to fruition. A Co-GM would mostly be needed to help come up with enemies as well as answer any questions players might have about in-game stuff or the game moving forward in the event of drop-outs. Some (if not all) of these concepts could work with the more episodic type format and posting limits I used in the original JLU rp. Players split up into smaller casts for a couple episodes/missions before the larger cast would all come together in an episode with higher stakes and larger threats. Generally 'episodes' would range from 12-30 posts with the higher post counts stemming from the episodes with the entire cast. Collaborations are also encouraged. This worked well for RP's with eight or more players, but it's cool if its not everybody's cup o' tea.

So... anybody see something they like? Maybe you want a few more details for what I've got in mind for some of them?

I can come up with a different name if it's a big deal or you just don't have a lot of time to go back and edit a couple words. Did you not know 'King Kobra' was the actual name of their leader though? I posted visual reference for the minions in both green and orange and just didn't figure somebody would actually wanna go straight for the big bad.

My work schedule prevents me from doing much Tues-Fri most weeks but we've been working a lot of Mondays the last few weeks as well. I'd like to start wrapping up these two quick scenes before this weekend is over so we can move forward and everyone else can introduce their characters and such. May go ahead and let anyone who's been posting begin developing secondaries.

Hey, @Omega Man and @Afro Samurai, might I offer a suggestion.
In order to avoid confusion, maybe we shouldn't refer to the top leader as King Kobra. Knight is already fighting a "King Kobra", and now it's been revealed that King Kobra's leader is called King Kobra. What's gonna happen if our heroes loose sight of both of them? And then suddenly King Kobra shows up again ... but which one?
Might I suggest we refer to the top chief as something else? Maybe all the generals are kings and their leader is "Emperor Kobra", "The God Kobra" or something like that? They have had other leaders through time, I think.

Edit: I hope all this didn't come out wrong ;)

It's all in the adjectives and what I used for visual reference in the post. You mentioned the guy Knight was fighting looking more scaly and larger than the others, and mentioned him having claws. So I found images of the Cult's brutes and used them there. I don't think you mentioned anything about the clothes any of them were wearing so I went ahead and clarified there are currently three types of snake men. The average one's clad in green, the orange guys who're generals, and then a few of those 7 ft tall brutes that look more like dinosaurs.

And the version of King Kobra that leads them is basically the one from the YJ cartoon. Knight could've simply just been calling the big guy she was facing the wrong name. Not the first time that's happened to a hero after all. You could have him actually tell Knight his name before their battle is over and give him some cool sounding tribal style name like Torad or Aliff.

Side Note: I almost went with an image of Serpentor from GI Joe, but rather than that I just had Robotman reference the show by calling King Kobra 'Cobra Commander'.

I'm going to set up this splinter cell and go into what motivates them and introduce their leader based on the version from the YJ cartoon.

I'm working on a post now, just finished reading up on the IC earlier. I 'like' everything after I read it when I remember to so you guys know I'm keeping up. I'll be in the Discord in a sec if anybody on the JLU side of the fence wants to contribute some dialogue to my post...
