You JUST scrolled down!

Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another Amalgam Universe themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!

My top RP's on the Guild:

Young Justice 2020
Justice League Unlimited
Titans of Gotham
Champions of Engine City
Marvel Reborn
Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]

Top Characters:

Ditto - Young Justice series
Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited
Leviathan - Titans of Gotham
Fastlane - Champions of Engine City
the Thing II - Marvel Reborn
Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return

I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!

Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.

Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.

OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, Haunt, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.

First thing to take care of is the confusion with the secondary characters. This is just a character for background use, not necessarily a supporting character for your heroes. It’s as much a character for my use as it is yours. For instance when setting up a villain, rather than have them attack your characters a few secondary characters will take one for the team, or be possessed by a villain, or whatever the scenes call for.

I tried giving notes on everything posted in the thread. Even the approved sheets had some things that needed to be altered. Nothing major, but I’m just looking for certain types of characters for this.

@Birdboy – Shining Knight – APPROVED! The only thing I would need altered is the Secondary character. I like the idea you already have a backup guy if your primary hero falls in battle, but for the reasons I mentioned above I need another established hero. Since you’re using Shining Knight I’d recommend another 7S character like Vigilante, Crimson Avenger, or even a still alive non-traitor Boy Blue.

@Divine Darkness – Artemis – CS Incomplete – Still looking forward to what you come up with though. It’s been awhile since the Society had an archer in its ranks.

@Archmage MC – the Runekeeper – As is its not what I’m looking for. The character would need reworked into the DCU and it doesn’t seem ‘superhero’ enough. I dig that look though.

@Blizz – Nocturne – APPROVED! Only notes I have are for the Secondary Character again. Change it up to somebody we can beat on.

@Martian – Jade – APPROVED! I love Jade, but this reads like an old wiki focusing on that 90’s era of GL, right down to the plant powers. Drop the stuff with Kyle Rayner and getting a ring and just keep her as her own hero and she’s good. Maybe make Amazing Man your Secondary Character?

@rocketrobie2 – Mercy – Not what I’m looking for. I like that you thought outside of the box but there are no ties really to the legacy of the JSA with this one, and I’ve always just seen her as Lex Luthor’s bodyguard. That whole ‘Everyman Project’ era was weird af. If you just want somebody with a bionic arm there’s that version of Magog that was in the JSA, basically DC’s spin on Marvel’s Cable and the extreme anti-heroes of the 90’s. You’ve written Capt. Marvel/Shazam and Silver Scarab in past RP’s, I’d love to see you rework one of them again for this.
@Divine Darkness We're only gonna be a few weeks into this new Society. Looks like some folks might have to change CS's a bit. I'm making dinner then I'll give everything posted a proper read...
Everybody doing okay? I know there was some bad bad weather down in Florida, not sure if anybody was effected. Haven't heard from a couple folks in the Discord lately though! Hope everyone is safe!
I should ask before I make my sheet. Will characters gain new abilities during the RP, or should they start with everything they'd have? Also notice this character is far more marvel than DC, as a lot of attacks are kind of similar to ghost rider, although shes ranged instead of melee.

There's the bit in the CS requirements about Sample Storylines. The Potential Episode or the Potential Sub-Plot could either one be used to level up your hero's powers.
@Omega Man See I couldn't even tell you that much! LOL imma go work on my character sheet, I'm wondering since Fury is descended from an amazon could I take their abilities and make them her own but add something special like Wonder Woman has? It's just a thought and it might make a character arc easier to work with

I just remembered they remade Fury in the Earth 2 series a few years back. Biggest difference visually is she isn't blonde and wearing as much gold, but for an Amazon tied to the same island as WW she looks pretty dope.

DC has a ton of great heroes and concepts just sitting on the shelf. Its a damn shame they don't publish books with more of these characters.
@Omega Man
Do you have a minimum age requirement for characters?

I have a few ideas, yet some involve canon characters that have either traditionally started their careers as teenagers or their best-known intepretation is that of a teen. (One character I'm considering is technically so young in the comics I'll have to age her up so much that she'll be an OC.)

You could age a character up, make an older character young again, there's a few different ways to rework a canon. Jakeem Thunder is usually one of the younger members along with Stargirl and Shazam's alter ego Billy Batson. Then you've got characters who debuted in the 40's who're still around.
@Omega Man OOO that sounds perfect for me to use! I love it I'm going to start spitballing ideas now and put them in as soon as I get the character sheet. The only thing I'm scared off is every time I take a cannon and try to make it my own it becomes a whole new character. I also haven't read the comics in a long time and I could never get my hands on the ones we'd be using to base some of our chareters.

I'm only vaguely familiar with many of the characters. With Infinity Inc I just know the ones tied to Green Lantern really. I couldn't tell you much about Hawkman's son as the Silver Scarab, or Al's change from Nuklon to Atom-Smasher, and the characters like Fury and Northwind I'm completely in the dark LOL. I was a fan of the Hector Hall version of Dr. Fate though during that run of JSA, and I very much enjoyed the Return of Hawkman era and spin-off series. Mostly the Geoff Johns written stuff. He managed to make a lot of characters/concepts relevant again like Hourman II and III, the Thunderbolt pen, Power Girl, Sandy, Liberty Belle, etc. The Freedom Fighters started to make a scene in the early 2000's too by a few familiar creators with a mini series or two as well as a monthly just before the New52 killed it. I'm into a few of the 7 Soldiers characters, and I dig how the Young All-Stars were meant to be analogs to the classic characters like Superman and Batman that were no longer part of the Society. Flying Fox actually showed up in a Heroes for Hire type of DC title with Red Tornado and some other C and D listers....

Name – Farris Knight
Alias – Starman
Age – 34
Powers – futuristic biology w/heightened physical attributes; possesses the Quarvat that’s similar in function to a Cosmic Rod able to manipulate cosmic energy and enhance his strength further; flight; space travel; cosmic awareness
Weaknesses – Separated from his Quarvat, Starman is essentially just a futuristic human
Personality – mysterious, stoic, calculating, stressed, ignorant
Experience – 10 years (in the future)
Appearance/Face Claim –
BRIEF Bio –

A member of the 853rd century team of heroes called the Justice Legion Alpha, Starman was a traitor among his teammates after making a deal with the sentient artificial sun Solaris. After meeting the original Starman in the past, Farris went on to sacrifice himself to take down Solaris in the future at the end of the DC One Million crossover. However at the end of that story, things weren’t quite what they seemed. Rather than dying a hero’s death he was thrown back into the past and landed in the present day. Knowing that the original Starman could vouch for him and get him the help he needed to return to his future, Farris was shocked to discover Ted Knight had died just weeks earlier by mysterious circumstances.

After discovering that some part of Solaris may have been sent into the past as well, Farris went to the members of the most recent Justice Society for guidance and help. He brought a picture from the 1950’s of a superhero clad in yellow calling himself Solaris that isn’t anything he remembers from the superhero history books of the future.

Golden Age Legacy – Starman
Sample Story Arcs –

Solaris Reborn: After the team discovers who the superhero in the picture was, they find his grandchildren and confirm he wasn’t a machine tied to an artificial sun from the future. However, the source of his powers WAS tied to the artificial sun. What happens when the hero’s ‘Sun Belt’ comes alive and tries to fuse with the Quarvat? (Potential Episode)

New Star New Man: After his Quarvat gets damaged, Starman uses unfinished cosmic rod tech of Ted Knight’s to refashion his weapon. (Potential Sub-Plot)

Additional Notes – Most of the recent eras of JSA have revolved around a Star-person, so I went with the most futuristic Starman ever and changed his swan song into a trip to the altered past.

Secondary Character - Tom Turbine
I'm interested in creating an original character but I'm not very familiar with the comics.

Would I still be able to join?

I just added some wikis in the opening post for anyone needing some inspiration! Originals have to be tied to a golden age legacy to be considered for this, complete originals will be much harder to get in with unless I'm blown away by the Character Sheet.
<Snipped quote by Omega Man>

I haven't figured that out yet once I get a character sheet I can figure it out I might do something like Wonder Woman but make it more original if that makes any sense.

There was a member of Infinity Inc that was the daughter of an amazon and called Fury. Definitely excited to see what you come up with!

Sure.
Might be interested in trying out a severely gimped Doctor Fate.

Dr. Fate is a low key favorite of mine but I like the weirder eras. I liked that super 90's Zero Hour guy and Hawkman's son as Dr. Fate a lot. And it's always cool when Constantine borrows the helmet...

I've got a character I'd like to use that might be fun, mostly because I wanna try using someone of her type. I will say though, she would technically be original.

library-of-ruina.fandom.com/wiki/Binah

This might be fun or not, I don't know. Its why I'm going to try a character of her archtype.

Originals are gonna be much harder to get in with, especially if it's not based on Golden Age superhero legacies and concepts. But I welcome the CS!

Itching for a superhero roleplay...
