You know this story, told to you as a child before bed like countless thousands of others only to repeat them to your own. The names, places, feats and foes may change but it is a compelling story of how good triumphs over evil; how love prevails; friendship and peace manifesting into some ambiguous 'light' designed to strike down the 'dark'.

You knew this story, it compelled bravery against adversaries and trials of spirit through your growth into something...more. A hero? Perhaps that was how you were remembered, though power is not always so pure. Regardless, kingdoms and their throes of innocents depended on you, trusted in your experience and motivation to do what platoons of the king's finest could not.

Holy purpose? Power? Other personal reasons? Maybe it was as simple as money and fame that drove you to sign your arms away with the intent to strike down the darkening horizons that came to your land. It may have even been so simple as being in the wrong place at the wrong time before the darkness of The Cold King Kazzok appeared.

Your efforts were in vain, however. Your gods failed you, and all of the words in all of the books in your world could not spell away the darkness that devoured your friends. Why you were spared is between you and King Kazzok, and some countless time has passed that you've been suspended in a sort of limbo-y stasis which may have only been minutes or years.

It was the same for every world. Dark clouds rumbled, accumulating in the distance in a swirl of towering nimbus before the spike falls. An arrow being shot from the sky, the ground quakes and day becomes night as The Coffin's Nail strikes into the earth. Dust and debris fog the land and sounds can be heard from the storm of ungodly machinations and abominations alike. By the time the mess settles, all that's left is the smoke on the horizon of besieged settlements and crumbled castles as a black tower remains, silhouetted in the mire of the clouds above.

To your knowledge, this is where the story ends.
You were the heroes sent to defeat the evil. Supposedly
You were what light the kingdoms of the land set their petty squabbles aside to collect. Supposedly.

Through some slip or misinterpretation, all hope was lost, the countryside and perhaps even the world looking on as the coming night sought to blot out the sun forever...another stepping stone for Kazzok and his conquest.

Well, this is where the story would have ended until lucidity returned to you in an instant, vision painting a blurry picture of bars to a cell. With a few blinks you realize you were in fact not dead. You were a prisoner. Why Kazzok had let you live, you had no idea. Or perhaps you did. Being paraded as trophies of conquest was one such idea. Or perhaps he wanted you to be his 'playthings'.

Regardless, you were alive. Your story is not over. Undo your mistake.

Hey everyone! This is a reboot-ish of an RP of @Lumiere. He will be the co-GM of this and me and him will be working together in running this.

Here's some additional stuff that @Lumiere posted in the previous incarnation.

...this is a Post-Apocalyptic Multiverse Fantasy with room for steampunk elements.

Post Apocalypse - Ya goof'd. Or someone goofed that caused your previous crew to not do so hot in the 'stopping the big baddy' department. You're welcome to team up with other peoples to be from the same dimension and write all kinds of flowery prose about the world you came from. It might even be relevant, later down the line.

Multiverse - Yes? Yes! It is! Kinda... Kazzok and his aspirations seek to consume the multiverse, and in this, all manner of heroes are capable of having opposed his will at some point. All races are a go (with explanation if they're non-conventional fantasy variants, though demons and angels get a special place in Kazzok's warm and welcoming heart, and, being entities of energy, serve a purpose that knocks them down a mortal peg. This isn't to even begin to mention the separation from their planar anchors.

Fantasy - Magic, elves, dwarves, entities of the fay, nature spirits, undeath and all of that goodness. Matters are often settled by the sword and magic is a part of every-day life. Individuals from other dimensions may not see this the same way and conflict may arise, but such is the situation when unlikely allies are forced to join.
(I underline 'forced' because there may only be room for 4-8 people with situational room for more to join mid-way)

Steampunk - See that whole Multiverse thing above? Technology can come from other realms, and Kazzok would certainly be interested in the knowledge and magics of other civilizations.

This is just an interest check for now. The Character Sheets and Rules will be posted on the OOC.

@13org

Oh jeez.

Where I live has similar temperatures but we're... adapted to it.
Since we've had a bit of droppage of players recently, this RP is once again open!

The link is right here.

P.S.

Don't be discouraged about the length of the RP. You don't need to know the RP's past to join unless you plan on creating your character based on something the Guild has done in which case, feel free to PM me about your ideas.

Speaking of PMing me, if you want to know the RP's past regardless, you can PM me and I can give the summary.

@The Irish Tree

D':

Well, I wish you luck in your future endeavors and if you are ever interested in this RP again, know that you are welcome here always.

------

Now I definitely need to open the int. checks again.
Hey there! Since I don't seem to be needed much here as well as other matters like other RPs that I have, I must also withdraw from this RP.

Have fun guys~!
@Enkryption

:(

Good luck with your job though! Also, that's not lame!

------

May have to open the int. checks again.
Sorry for the late update and an advanced sorry since I have to delay the next update to the weekend next week.

Also, kind of excited on who gets to fight Varjan on the finals.
Seraph Academy

Tournament Arenas

Varjan moved slightly so your knife slashes just narrowly missed. He did not do much else as you did your next attack.

"They are already free!"
Thessir

Varjan evaded your attack at the very last second by shifting his body to the side. He also extended a hand so that he caught your covered face as you dived. "I see. Thanks for telling." His palm then shone suddenly, engulfing your eyes with light that somehow knocked you unconscious.

------

You wake up with your eyes seeing a ceiling. You realize that you were in a bed of sorts and looking around, white curtains surrounded you. It appeared you were in the Academy Infirmary as one of the patients. Since you were there and the last you saw of Varjan was him with the upper hand, it was safe to assume that you had lost the fight against him.

The curtain in front of you was pulled aside and in came a Light Elf who appeared to be a doctor. "Ah, Mister Thessir, you are awake." She greeted you. "We were worried for a second. Varjan left you as a pile of burning ooze and we had to cast some heavy healing on you to get you back into shape." You feel that that was an exaggeration.

"So, how are you? Are you feeling alright?"

With a plan in mind, Seleth set forth with clones diverging from her in an attempt to get her opponent to attack her. Lisia, meanwhile, decided to keep using her 'Flash Step' to swiftly eliminate the Dark Elf and her clones.

But regardless of who Lisia attacked first, all of the clones were set with the 'Shadow Weight' spell. The trap was sprung and globes of dark magic attached themselves to the Princess before she could do something to counter it. The dark orbs were heavy. Real heavy, furiously pulling Lisia to the ground and requiring all of her strength to keep herself standing.

It would be hard for Lisia to do anything while there are literal burdens on her body. She could take the time to dispel them but that would give her Dark Elf opponent an opportunity to follow up with an attack of some sort. Meanwhile, with her plan successful, Seleth now had the advantage over the Princess once more. What shall be her plan now?

"-what is the situation thus far? Who shall I be working with?"
Kazudain

"
As for that, I shall leave it to a talented individual whom I also recruited for the operation.
darkslateblue
" Athos' gaze then shifted to the door where there was a boy of black hair and eyes and wearing a distinct blue scarf.

"Hey there, I'm Ecthel Rivera." The boy introduced himself.

Southern Gate Town

~~~ @Frozen0Titan (KAZ) ~~~
Ecthel explained to you that the investigation recently discovered hard evidence of a drug operation in a warehouse raid. He also explained that there were already several investigators working on the job consisting of a warrior from the East, a foreign Beastkin and another Beastkin who was once a resident in Zauberheim.
The boy then told you that the investigation would be arresting a man named Juan de la Cruz who was suspected of being involved in the crime ring but he might have guards around him. He said where the investigation would assemble to plan the arrest. But getting there, you noticed that the streets below already have a scene unfolding.
Ecthel himself arrived just as you did. "Ahh, looks like we're late to the party." He remarked. "There!" He pointed to a rather rich and fancy carriage. "That's where Juan de la Cruz. That Eastern-looking guy is one of us." Ecthel continued. Fighting the Eastern-looking guy was the girl you recognized as Hisana.
"And looks like there's other trouble." Ecthel then pointed to another fight between a Beastkin girl, a man in a hooded cloak and an armored warrior you recognized as Keith North. "The Beastkin girl is one of ours too so I'm guessing the armored guy is one of Juan's bodyguards."
"Looks like we gotta help, do you wanna go after Juan himself or the armored guy?"
~~~ @AzureKnight (HIS & ENI) ~~~

The knight unsheathed his blade just in time to block the card hurled at him by Hisana. However, he was disarmed when Hisana used Elastic Love to pull his sword away from him.

That did not mean he was out of the fight though. The knight quickly charged at Hisana and attempted to seize her hands and hopefully allow someone else to render her ineffective or at least knock her out so she would not be a problem.

"Whoa!" Keith cartwheeled to the side to avoid Rimlian's fireball which, fortunately, flew to the air and harmed nothing of import. Keith, meanwhile, opened himself up to Lumina's grapple and was put in a lock.

"And you. What's even your name? If you're gonna be so rude to stop and make fun of me, you might as well give me that much before I kick your ass."
Lumina Lusteria

"The name's Keith North, girl. Not that that's going to matter much since I'm leaving Zauberheim a.s.a.p. 'cause this place's going belly up in a matter of time." Keith revealed his name as well as some ominous remarks about the capital city. "Now then, enough chit-chat!" The mercenary, in surprising flexibility, slithered out of the hold and kicked Lumina away.

He then used a foot to launch his shield to the air before kicking it towards Rimlian. Keith did not relent as he charged Rimlian, intent on doing harm with his sword.
