Lord and lady Coswain

The Moon Temple & Attack site

Persephone sighed, crunched up her eyes as she held her head and vision blurred, it was a full blown migraine and she looked out into the distance. Each time she opened her eyes she saw a pain into her eyes and closed then again. It felt like something that was forcing its way into her mind, something that was forcing her to see it.

Much as she tried to resist it the pressure Built up like water against a wall, each moment it built up in the flood till it washed the walls she erected away 1 by 1 till the full weight of the vision hit her.

Painfully and slowly she cracked her eyes open, slowly she saw a light fuzzily form into her vision, it was a blurry form, the shape was phasing in and out of existence. She rarely had such things waking, but her abilities were somewhat unrefined to say the least. She had been boosted beyond her sklill to use her abilities.

Slowly she forced her mind to concentrate on it despite the blinding pain she was feeling, Persephone was used to pain and a harder life, duty was not a easy path. A shape came to slowly form, golden lines Slowly resolved, silver and gold, the form of an animal, it was a … A wolf, slowly silver shifted into the form of an dark wolf letting tears of gold fall to the surface of the lake, but it moved across it like it was solid ground.

The entire scene started to slowly…glitch and it's movements where choppy, out of sync, the wolfs head looked at her directly before turning away with a choppy motion like a slowly spinning shadow play item, too slow to be smooth. Persephone watched unsure as to its meaning or who sent her this vision, her own mental stress or had selene showed her somthing?

It's passage across the lake was jerky, phased and leaving a trail of that gold that flickered and moved in her vision, it made her brain hurt to just look, Her eyes burned as she watched it, and it's passage. It phased one last time into an mountain area past the lake, the gold faded, the wolf was not longer seen and it's only sign was ice left on the lake to prove it was real and even that faded away completely to nothing at all.

Persephone mind gave up fighting.

Lord Coswain was about to quietly sit and make arrangements before a scream broke through, a scream of panic and pain not a scream and shout of joy. “Mi lady, duty calls, il leave my wife in your care. Selene bless you, il stop whatever that is before it gets here. That or die trying.” He did not run, but strode out drawing his long sword, the long steel blade had the worn acid etched design of a Paladins Oath Still just about visable in the light.

“Seph.. Seph…” He called striding over following her foot steps and finding her holding her head with a whimper, and keeping her eyes closed. “Seph, I know your hurting.” He did not need to finish, that as she forced herself to stand and moved shakily to the Temple. She knew him too well, he knew her too well.

“Be safe.” She simply said and kissed him before she made her way to the Temple and forced herself to make way to the door, each step was a effort, each one harder than the last but she made it to the door and slammed the draw bar down before she fell to the floor, her last thought was reaching out the icon of Selene in thanks and hope of protection. “Selne,... pro.tec.t….Adon….” She managed before she lost all concious thought.

But she had barred the door, her duty was done. She was sprawled out where she fell, one hand reached out though thankfully her cloak had got caught about her padding some of the fall..

Adonis Coswain watched the door close with a heavy heart, but duty was this way. He walked forward looking carefully, heavy sword raised in a guard position ready to strike. Each step took him a step away from his love, but duty was his to walk into the dangers not away from them.

His powers where on the very edge of his mind as he moved, fluidly and quickly ready to be unleashed at a heart beats momment, a mere slither of time to decide life or death. He moved with purpose and the pace and form of a seasoned warrior, not rushed but smooth, efficient as he scanned each area ahead and above.

“Freindly to me, Royal Guard.” He called Out with a tone of command, either he drew his foe away from the vulnerable, or the civilians to him. Both worked, he would damned, dead if it be do his duty to them and face what lurked In the darkness.

He had slain monsters, men, and more though this was hardly ideal he was not going to show cowardice, he faced whatever it was, speed would be be his weapon though not as fast as his Squire, she was lithe and fast like none he had ever trained with, he had speed, skill…and experience on his side.

“To me if it's safe. What's going on?” He asked as he advanced, he did ot know what was going on, but something was wrong, the chance was that others were too far here, he would have to work with what he had, or had not in case that may be.

He saw a Favain soldier, one of the… he could not tell the unit, it did not matter but his medic markings did matter, as well as a useful man to have about.

To this man he was probably someone he had only seen at a distance, he had Met officers from the cooperation efforts, joint training, soldiers sharing skills and building up good will with the local forces. But he was a Favian. Bereft of a job he started helping people off the ladder and getting them clear so they could get more people on board without delay. The sounds of battle grew and the time was getting shorter. The one eyed man in Favaian post Captain's uniform of the Navy encouraged them to keep moving and to make room for the next refugee.

“Medic, not sure, but I'm glad we have your services, get on up, we need you. Post Captain Hamerlin, Embassy.“ He called out louder and then his voice took on more concern hoping it was not what it seemed.

“Any other Favians you have seen, Navy, Army, Embassy, anyone made it?” The city had erupted Into chaos before anyone could organise, they had evacuated some Weeks ago due to the tensions but many believed it was safe and stayed in equal numbers. It should have taken them weeks or months to get this far, enough to mount a sailing to evacuate everyone non essential.

“Time to make a move on, get up that ladder. The Reds are too damn close. Hands to the ropes, feet to the rungs. Hands to the side. Feet on the flats people.” He was an older man, He had one bad hand and he had been wounded hard in service but he pushed through all of that, reaching down to help the people up and instructed the way he was trained to climb ladders in such chaos so you did not crush someone's hands and cause a delay on the ladders.

“Captain” he gave a very quick salute to the air ship's Captain spotting him as he decided to try and make some good in the shitshow. Before turning to the next person In need of help.

Well things took a rapid turn for the worst, it seemed the protocol of asking for permission was not going to be a problem, he had asked as captains where jumpy and he did not want to get killed by a panicked soldier or someone who was too jumpy to tell a uniform apart. No gangplank it seemed, they were already preparing for a rapid takeoff.

Nothing for it, chaos was the order of the day as he stowed his gun and grabbed for a rope ladder. He was not used to this but old skills never truly faded and chambered his way onto the boards of the airship checking he had not dropped anything, tossing the old paper map he took from a soldier that was now entirely useless. “A Small chance is better than no chance” He said to himself as he came aboard number 27, maybe they would be caught, shot down or worse. But this was his only chance he saw.

He looked about for the door that would be most like a bridge, somewhere He could get some direction. This ship had to have a captain, an officer met, air or sea. They Had to have someone in charge to be able to take off. Following a captain, any captain was the least thing he could understand and make sense of.

“Who Is in charge, and what can I do to help?” He asked as he walked in looking for someone to reveal themselves as taking Leadership. “I served aboard a dreadnought as a gunnery officer. Hamerlin, Favis Navy or was before I took a desk job.” He said, introductions could wait for formality and time to do them properly.

“I just Lost a few bits in the career change.” He joked darkly as he had an eye patch and Several fingers replaced on his right hand.

Just had to wait for orders.

Lord and lady Coswain

The Moon Temple

Lord and Lady Coswain had a better view of this representation of the church than others, sure she was on the younger side but she had not seemed to have been dragged into political and other battles that some pushed instead of their duty to the moon goddess. Least that was their first impression. “It's less cute when her feet are as cold as a winter peak, but… I still love her regardless.” Lord Coswain said as he dragged it out teasing Persephone and giving the priestess a nod. Truth be told he didn't always feel blessed, he had outlived many people he would rather not have but then again.. He had his family.

“You're lucky I said yes to you” Persephone said with confidence but they clearly were not hurt feelings. “We have not been in ideal times, if you need some time, please take what you need. We are stuck here till spring most likely so not going anywhere.” Attempting a long journey into Lunaris in the winter over the mountains would be foolhardy at best. Persephone shoved a pain in her temple aside, and carried on. “I do mean that,” She said, trying to not command but state the facts, if they had to wait for her to get her things together to do it right, well what was a few more days.

The two looked at each other and their was no need to have a verbal extended conversation. After over 20 years you just knew and they nodded. “We would like you to do it. However we are happy to wait if you need to consult for advice and check what you need to send letters.” Adonis placed a gold coin down to pay for the postal service fees.

They both knew, they had talked and the question was not really a question, the couple gave a nod and carried on. “Subtle as a battering ram Adon…” Though she did not mind and he had tried to help, soldiers were soldiers. Some things never changed. Persephone Massaged her temple and waved it off, just a headache, she had them regularly since the whole eternal moonrise became reality.

“Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome, I'll ask Hector to ensure certain trouble makers stay out, we can always set Daphne on them. I'm sure the Lady Selene would agree, we need a little life in these times. its less custom but times are not normal.” Persephone said, though she could not hide the pain she was in or the fact however many times she had them her partner was making soothing circles on the back of her hand. Correction, he was her soldier, however elevated his rank. They used a different term but it meant the same goddess, the respect was the same though the name was different.

“As.. Ask Sya, her new bakery might be willing to help too. She is… a determined lady. She will make sure as long as you. Pay her.” Even a relatively forward thinking Lunarian It was hard to get over the idea blightborn were openly about, running business, and operating alongside many of the main roles in town. People could take change but slowly, however she did trust Sya to respect gold, and gold was a universal language.

The Pain and pressure grew and she needed some fresh air, she needed to get out… Something for a reason… She had to…”Excuse me, Adon, I need some fresh Air, please finish up for me, i'll be fine…I just need air… Sorry, the… i need air ” She got up and left, giving the priestess an apologetic look and walked out a little less steady as she headed for the door and the lake where the Temple lay on the shore.

“Sure Seph, stay close, il be over soon.” He spoke with concern, she got them and it still scares him however much he knew they would pass.

“My wife, she has had dreams ever since the night it got worse, she means no disrespect. It just gets too much sometimes for her to manage. I just hope this blessing helps in some way.” He could not hide his concern for Persephone and he trusted her to keep their secrets, she was a priestess in a Temple, his gut feeling was telling him she was trustworthy and honourable. “I have never done this before, so please let me know what Information you need, as I will do my best to help. Or you can ask us, my squire or my freinds aid any time.” He said smoothly, who knew if they missed anything or some small detail, Persephone deserved it to be right.

“Also, can you work in Sapphire Blue or purple, they are her favourite colours. I'm not just good with a sword. That and inwould like to add Aurlailans to any honour guard, as a gesture to the Princes unity.” He chose to add, "she would appreciate the touch, flowers are out, but whatever you can make do.” Flowers or greenery would not really be an option in times such as this but there Might be some way to bring her colours she enjoyed into the event. The touch about unity was political but the Prince was their main benefactor now, so they would support it in a small way.

He cast a look back, Persephone would not go far and he could easily track her path in the snow.

Persephone had made her way to the lakeshore and sat on a fallen tree looking towards the mountains, the feeling did not lessen, something was coming…
