Just a lurker here. There are a lot of similar scales in the NS. The government scales are varied enough, but all the values in the Economy and Society scales seem to be very similar. Care to elaborate?Also, how is combat going to work? I know this is just the interest check, but there are very few details provided here. Nothing on recruitment, how much you can have, what it will cost, etc. Just curious, is all.

I don't agree with you. Just because a nation embraces communism doesn't mean that the people living there are economically equal (just look at the various communist states of today). As another example, you could have a conservative, closed nation which is tolerant of other nations and cultures (as long as they stay away).

A simple system for warfare will show up with the OOC.

Welcome to Tales from the Riverrealm



In this game we will each of us create and play as one of the many factions of the land called the Riverrealm. There will be a sheet and a set of rules which you will use in the creation of your faction, and while there will be guidelines and recommendations as to what I’d like the feel of the game to be like, I will be as lenient as I can. This is a collective process, after all, and if I wanted to decide everything for myself I’d go write a book or something.

Quick Facts

The Riverrealm is a large piece of land which largely consists of high mountains and deep valleys, through which a myriad of rivers run in all directions. In the center lies the great mountain Ur, from which all rivers stem and on the Gods are reputed to live. The entire region is surrounded by a great, impassable mountain range and is riddled with big forests.

The technological development is largely equal to the European 1200s, with a few exceptions. The most widespread religious worship is the temple of the Gods on Ur, a church which is very varied in its pantheon, practice and intensity of worship depending on which valley you’re in. There are largely no inequalities in terms of gender in the Riverrealm. Men and women are treated equally and have equal opportunity within their social status.

Humans are the predominant species of the Riverrealm. There may be other sentient humanoids, but humans are in vast majority.
