Welcome to The Dark Ages
ALWAYS OPEN!


The year is 1350, and Europe is currently experiencing the infamous dark ages. The Black Death is ravaging the land, decimating people across the continent. War is raging both in and between nations. People everywhere are losing faith and hope, wondering where the love of God has gone. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the forces of darkness are more real than ever.

This game is set in an alternate reality, where much (if not all) of the superstitions people had back then are true. Europe is riddled with vampires, witches, werewolves and all the other servants of Satan. It’s a time and place where the night belongs to other beings than man, where the uncharted wilderness has masters of its own.

You will take on the roles of villains, heroes and the people in between. It’s an open-world kind of game where you make your own fate, make your own adventure. There will be no red line, no glorious quest for the salvation of mankind – just the stories of the people living in these wretched times.

So take your place in the annals of history. Go forth and live out your goals, good or evil. Just remember that the night is dark… and full of terrors.

When creating your character, feel free to use your imagination, but don’t overdo it. Save the all-powerful harbingers of doom to another game. You are allowed to play as more than one character at a time, just keep it focused. We don’t need the confusion that too many characters can bring. Be nice to each other when playing, and discuss things in the OOC before doing something drastic. This isn’t a competition; it’s a collective creative process. Finally, fill out the Character Sheet for each of your characters and wait until it’s been accepted before posting in the IC.

Very interested! Would like to know how you would handle magic in this RP. Will it be a low magic setting with magic only through like magic weapons and artifacts (closer to the realistic side of things) or will players be able to make spellcasting characters (closer to straight up fantasy)?I'm not interested in a magic based character myself, but I'm still curious. Looks very promising, I hope this gets more popular!

A combination of both, I think. More powerful magic is bound in items, but "simple" spellcasting is also possible.

Not really, no. This'll be a sandbox kind of game. My character will have a quest of sorts, but you don't have to follow it.
