Current Ah, I see the bots are back again with their nonsense posting.

Got my new sci-fi mecha RP up. Put a lot of work into the background of this one, and wrote out a whole setting

Cambozola is definitely A-Tier. It combines all the best parts of Brie with Blue Cheese, what's not to like.

Guess the mecha RP idea wasn't as popular or as interesting as I hoped it might be. Not much in the way of bites on that one so far, sadly

Bio

I've been roleplaying in one form or another since the late '90's. I've played as many tabletop games as I have online ones, and the quality of both has varied wildly.
I have an active imagination, and I love immersive, descriptive roleplaying. My genres of choice are sci-fi, and modern-day (with a sci-fi twist). I like RP's that mix reality with fiction, and throw an unusual and exciting twist into an otherwise normal setting - something like Stargate SG-1 would be an example, or Battle: Los Angeles. An almost recognizable world, but with some sci-fi twists.
I'm a fan of military and action-based RP's that do this especially, and they are easily my favourite - though I rarely see any that appeal to me enough - all the military RP's are too 'plain', and anything else modern day is usually fantasy or fandom.
I have a lot of fandoms, but I don't really like fandom RP's - or at least, the ones that come up. I often find them a bit lacking in ideas, or too far away from what actually makes the thing I'm a fan of enjoyable.

I don't play in free, as I find the short posts and bad spelling and grammar infuriating.

I'm 43 years old, and live in the UK, so I may not be on all the time.
I also like playing non-human characters, especially anthro ones. I dig giant robots, and I love military aircraft. I'm also a very dedicated and proud Brony and furry.

Oof. Don't know if I can follow this RP if its going in advanced.

Sadly, I don't like posting in Advanced much, so I might not be able to join; sorry.

I mean... it's only going in there because of the amount of background detail?

I'm not sure what the sudden problem is. I'm not expecting novel-length posts from people.
Maybe I won't put it in there then, if it's going to put people off that much
I'm still trying to write my character an plane up should be done tonight

No problem at all; there's no rush at all. I'm not going to be starting until we have a couple more characters; in the least until everyone who's said they're going to post one or join in has done so, or said that they are/aren't interested still.

I'll also be on holiday next week from Saturday - Friday, but I should still be checking in while I'm away (I'm actually not going that far from home, funnily enough, but it does feel like somewhere much further away). If things do get posted and caught up, I'll get the IC up as soon as I can after.
I ended up making quite an expansive background for this, which I've nearly finished putting together. It will definitely be going in the Advanced section considering how much detail will be put into it - but I suppose that's what happens when you come up with the idea of creating a game world that's a patchwork of different worlds and realities mingled together, and having to work out how they all fit together.

Hopefully enough of you are still interested at this point to join in, and even if not; I'll still get the OOC up, as that seems to attract new players on its' own, regardless of an interest check. In fact, OOC's almost seem to attract more than an Int-Check does.
@Silverwind Blade Hello? Did you read my previous message?

Oh, I'm so sorry - I didn't actually see it! I don't think the site notified me of it, or it came up just as I was posting a reply or something, so I actually missed it completely.
I am very happy for you to participate, we're certainly still open for people at the moment, so please feel free to put a character together and post them up for approval.

I can certainly go down this route and bring this plane in, I can imagine a plethora of upgrade and maybe increased hard points mixed in with compatibility with western tech and/or alien tech, improved engines to be able to carry more weight and of course be able to use air to air, anti ship, air to surface and bombs to help bring her more in line withthe other craft. other than the 141 the SU33 was my other go to, what you think for the 141 idea? not to much i hope or over the top?

Sure, that sounds absolutely fine to me.
@Silverwind Blade They still fly here in the States sometimes during airshows, specially in the South. They are beautiful, I wish I could have seen them in action. But, I guess airshows are a lot more prevalent here in the states than in the Old World.

I'm surprised to hear that; everything I've read has said that all the F-111's had been retired a long time ago. I've been lucky to see B-1's at airshows which are the next nearest thing, and one of my other favourite aircraft. A bit out of scope for this RP though xD

And yeah, not surprising really. The USA is much, much bigger geographically than the UK, and with a much better year-round climate that allows for more airshows year round. Not to mention a much higher budget for putting on airshows, with or without military participation. There's a good amount here in the UK, especially from the spring to the summer, but a lot of them are small 'air festivals' locally. Still, I usually go to the biggest one in the country every year.

This is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind and was imagining with the mention of prototype and 'never flew' aircraft, so I'd be absolutely thrilled to see a Yak-141 in the game.

F16XL
Super Viper

Would likely be a better fit with the other plane types

The F-16XL was one of the other aircraft I was considering myself, actually! It's a good choice, and a personal favourite plane, too. I know that Slypheed was originally considering it too, so it's a good choice. And I'd love to have you onboard too, you're certainly more than welcome to join us.
@Silverwind Blade I suggest trying to find one in an airshow, that and the A-4, beautiful planes and majestic in all accounts. I saw a few when an Aussie group and some diggers came here to the states for training when I was doing a FoI on a local base, and she sounded beautiful.

Unfortunately, there aren't any flying anymore since the Australians retired theirs, so I'll never get to see one flying now. But I've seen a couple of them in museums over here in the UK, and admired them since.
Snow

Garrett swung into action not far behind his comrades-in-arms. The targets were clear and obvious - just the way he liked it; a simple mission with a simple objectives, and simple targets. With a howl of engines, the Sentinel sped forward, thrusters giving enough power to move in ground-effect; faster than a run and not quite flying. As Valika and R-18 went after the enemy MA's, Garrett followed in Sara's wake, engaging the heavy gun batteries.
"Good hits, Rabbit! Following your lead. Solid locks confirmed-"
Another of the heavy gun emplacements slid into view as Garrett skidded the Sentinel like a power-skater on its' cloud of flaring blue thrust. Crosshairs projected into his vision turned green as multiple missiles locked on.
"Snow, targets locked. Missiles away!"
Shoulder covers popped open and winding smoke trails blasted away from both bulky shoulder pads as armour-piercing plasma-warhead missiles screamed and corkscrewed through the air and blasted into globular, eye-searing, explosions against one of the heavy turrets, blasting it to pieces as it turned to bear.
Still skidding at high-speed, crosshairs projected into Garrett's single-eyed vision locked over targets. The lighter armoured vehicles might not have been much threat, but they were still a threat; his head-mounted vulcan cannon burst into a burbling roar, shells streaming into the vehicles hulls in clouds of dirty smoke and flame as the twin-linked guns opened fire, empty casings streaming out along with clouds of gunsmoke.
"Enemy vehicles neutralised; shifting to next targets!"
<snip>

Approved! I really like him, and look forward to having him in the game :)
I'm a big fan of the F-111 too. I always regret I never got to see one flying, especially with its 'dump-and-burn' show-stopping maneuvre at airshows.

Ah it has been a long time since I have been involved in one of your fun Ace combat inspired RP's. Count me interested in this!

Would love to have you! Make your way over to the OOC and see what it's all about <3
