Bio

Hello curious person, I am Rumiko Goddess of Chaos, Benevolent Dictator; The Bluemoon Dreamer....You know a nut case

Where do I come from? I could be a smartie an say the "Great State of Denial" but lets just agree that I like keeping my RL Life disconnected from my RP Life.

I survived Guildfall and have always loved this place even though I see a lot of good RP time eaten up in Discord drivel

Climbing out of the pool after watching two of his classmates slosh out and teleport Api took another shower and then dressed into a set of his favorite work out togs and headed to the gym. He knew he should have a spotter but after what he’d seen this day he was unsure of how far he could trust the others. As a result of his distraction his ring and parallel work was sloppy almost injuring himself several times so he gave up and decided to head to the library.

Extracurricular

Slipping on his headphones Api opened the computer to information on Einstein’s Field Equations focusing on gravity which lead to the Equivalence principle, Gauss’s law, then Poisson’s Equations and down the rabbit hole he dove. He flipped through article and papers on the subject of Newtonian forces, Spacetime curvature, and the esoteric works of Alcubierre finding truth within based on his intimate knowledge of the field of gravitics.

As he read he began to form a picture of things from the standpoint of someone who could see and sense the field in question like no device built. Then the computer made a suggestion he read the Stark papers both by father and son and he began to see what was missing; all of them either used observation theory or had artificially generated gravity waves.

Api unlike these great men and women didn’t generate gravity he was actually bending spacetime to his will as easily as people blow out candles. He needed to quit thinking about what he was doing so much, he needed to simply do what he wanted the same as breathing or walking; well maybe not that simplistic but close in any case.

So leaning back Api looked at a book on one of the nearby tables and thought of it existing in a state of zero gravity which was something he already knew how to do but this time he added a secondary effect creating a small gravity source in the air above it.

How long it took was hard to say because for Api time became a field effect he wasn’t actively observing but the book began to climb attracted by the stronger force. Next he moved the attractive force about 3 degrees to the side of 90 right and the book rotated as it followed the attractive like a goat followed a carrot.

It was working wonderfully so he closed his eyes and used his field senses alone to see the book and all the other forces in the library so he could see what he was doing with both fields but then his day intruded and the úlfur rose and threw off his focus.

Unbalanced the attractive force increased as Api felt his head swim with energy caused by the wolf within. Increased to 3 gravities the attractive force fired the book across the library at an exponentially increasing speed that was so fast by the time it reached the window it passed through it making a roughly book shaped hole surrounded by spiderweb cracks.

Api was mere inches from entering the water feet first when he came to what at first seemed a stop but then he spun like a top across the surface of the flat water like an Ice Skater performing at the olympics as he altered the forces of gravity using both his power and his experience with rotational forces. He was having fun with the pool using it as a safety mat for an extreme Api floor exercise.

He kept his body over the water in Zero-G using his rotations to alter his vectors in a manner he’d only dreamed of as a normal gymnast; The Space Agency had never allowed gymnasts to see what they could do in the absence of the force that limited them on their planet of birth. While he performed his radical maneuvers the song he’d picked to use in the olympics played at ear shattering volume in his head. (Asian Dub Foundation - Target Practice)

He had been described as an elemental force in motion by his old instructor for his powerful yet smooth rotations of his small frame aided by his compact mass and love of action and just because he’d never perform his routine didn’t mean the fun had been drained out of it.

He tapped the water with his toes drug them across the surface making patterns seen on fresh ice by figure skaters and he felt alive. This was his therapy, his coping method for all the trouble his power might cause him in a world that seemed to forget that he and others like him were their children.

Here in motion Api was free, he had no need for the crowd’s approval only the rapid instinctive alteration of his body and power and even when he screwed up he didn’t pause to punish himself.

”If you tank a move plow through or die on the mats by your own hand” he heard Mina from his memory as her student.

Then because this was a freeform his choreographer cranked up the volume and tossed in La Haine as he drilled down into the water his surrounding gravity causing the water to act unnaturally for earth within the field of his influence. When his feet touched the bottom 20 feet below he looked up at the vortex that filled the sky above. Then kicking off he shoot straight up part of the water previously under his influence chasing him out of the pool.

He looked as if he were flying to the outside observer but he was actually jumping in a column of null gravity. At the apex of his jump his feet touched the bottom of the 10 meter platform where he thrust off under natural gravity entering the water with but a tiny splash.

I too was curious

Diana sat in the saddle keeping a watchful eye out as Redhawk drank from a stream before crossing and allowed herself to admire the beautiful mountain scenery around her. The birds sang in the trees a good sign that there were no infected nearby as butterflies with powder yellow green wings sprinkled with tiny brown spots. The looked like Cloudless Sulphurs, Phoebis sennae Linnaeus a fact that struck her as odd considering their range was normally found in the south east but with the altered climate among other things who could say?

She had gone up into the mountains after the farm she’d made refuge was raided while she and Redhawk had been out gathering things to make poultices. She had lost a lot in the raid but the past five years had taught her to never leave home unless she was prepared for a long trip and never leave her medical equipment or those things she might need if she were forced to run.

She had lost her box of blank leather bound journals which she’d scavenged from the remains of a bookstore leaving her the four filled journals and two blanks; to her a tragedy. (Some dam bandit is using my paper a but wipe or fire starter) she thought as she nudged Redhawk forward to continue to follow the game trail she was on.

Calaveras Coroner’s Office a little over 5 years past

”Alright everyone settle down we don’t have long DHS has drafted all of us under the National Security provisions and your complaints are useless.” Said Doctor Besner in his deep and rich voice

”What do these tyrants think they can just come in here and start giving orders and drag us away; don’t they know that we’re working on a solution to the Pandemic with UC?” demanded Doctor Kestler

The two black clad DHS officers acted as if they wanted to interject but held back allow the County Coroner to try and restore order which Doctor Besner did with one of his shut your mouth looks.

Diana as usual sat in the back of the 5 other doctors who worked here relaxed and waiting till she might be called on not enjoying any unnecessary attention. As the youngest Doctor there and barely out of school she knew she’d be seen as little more than a junior who should have remained quiet which she did better than anyone.

Doctor Besner told the group how UC was now a hell hole of infected and how all their work now meant nothing without the labs there to do the experiments suggested by their research. He explained why they’d been hearing gunfire all day and how the troops sent to guard the Hospital and Coroner’s offices and labs were now needed to help with the evacuation. He told them that incidents of infected patients attacking their Doctors had depleted the supply of trained medical staff and that they were now more concerned with the living so they were now going to be split into pairs with the coroner’s assistants and techs pressed as nurses.

On the run with the Irregulars

It had been a rough 2 years since Diana had enjoyed her old quiet and gently paced life and from what she’d been able to find out she was the last of her old life all her friends and colleagues now gone; she’d watch Kestler die along with the nurses about 6 months ago.

It was now all such a blur of faces gone but not forgotten and she was using her memory to look into that peaceful past when Sergent Wains stepped into the former 7/11 now turned triage medcenter.

”Doc the Captain says we’re bugging out in two hours any can’t move on their own and awake offer them a hotshot and those that ain’t do yourself; no need they suffer when the stampede gets here.
If you want I can get one of the Greenies to help or do it for you.”
offered the formally fat and formerly retired Chief Petty officer.

Last Woman Standing
3 months Past

Diana used to think of Sacramento as a pretty town but now she would forever remember as where she’d lost Sergent Wains, Todd Three fingers, Maggie Simpson and Christophe Papalos the last of the Irregulars.

She didn’t look back as she urged Redhawk a beautiful Gelding given to her as reward for saving the baby of a group of people traveling higher into the Cascades; why hadn’t Tom just allowed their group to join them? He had wanted to continue scavenging for supplies in the outskirts of Sacramento a bad decision because the towns were fief to infected and Warlords the later two legged beasts the death of her party and all she could do was bugout after watching two of her friends murdered.

She was the Last of the Irregulars, a lone wolf in a world of hunters out for her blood or worse; she’d seen the results for young women captured by bandits and planned on ending herself rather than face such a terrible death.

What a Strange Sight My Eyes Beheld

The game trail followed the backside of a ridge and before she moved over it like an Idiot Diana made sure her backtrail was clear then found a temporary hiding spot for Redhawk then squat walked up to the top of the ridge finishing her last 15 feet on her belly.

She never knew what she might see when she peeked over ridges but she knew it was better to do it on your belly than walk or ride over it and silhouette herself to any dangers the other side. What she saw filled her with excitement and worry in one neat and itchy ball of yarn; a windmill.

It was a dam Windmill she was sure of it even though she only caught a glimpse of the blade tips as they lifted higher the the top of a smaller ridge about a mile away where judging by the fact it was moving meat it was attended by people that had the skills and knowhow to keep it turning.

Ducking back over her side of the ridge Diana sat scratching her head as she tried to think of her next move.

She thought about it making an internal list
  • Windmills took skill to keep operating meaning who ever owned it had enough supplies to feed people to do the work.
  • Electricity, windmills meant electricity and that meant water pumps, lights, electric motors, and maybe even hot water; dam she could use a hot shower.
  • People, wind turbines could put out as much as 2.5 to 3 Megawatts making for around 6 million Kilowatt hours a year supplying enough power for around 1,000 to 1;500 homes
  • Electricity meant power of a different sort as well, political power, military power

It wasn’t that she minded military types just tyrannical ones so she sat and struggled with what her next move was.

Óðinn’s Úlfhéðnar rose briefly in Api’s heart as he was ignored by the Frekja woman when all the excitement happened causing him to pause in thought and press the úlfur spirit back into its cave.

It proved an easier task than he would normally have guessed it to be because of the Fight that was drawing everyone like moths to a flame; even he felt the draw but was able to resist by thinking how insane the people here were starting to appear.

He could have interjected himself into the struggle or run to the teachers here but seeing as this was a school for people like himself he would be surprised to find out they didn’t already know about the scuffle. So remembering Sally’s call to go swimming he turned and headed to his dorm to fetch his suit and other things.

He bounced eating up ground faster than he could run and spotting an open window on his floor through it and to his room.

In the locker room

Empty when he entered Api stripped and headed to the shower to cleanse himself just as he would have back home even though he’d been told American pools were heavily chlorinated; the later a cause of worry.

Once clean Api slipped into his old school suit pool shoes and then tossed his towel over his shoulder and headed for the pool.

The 10 Meter platform

Api had the place to himself so he climbed the ladder the stepped out to the platform edge turned facing away from the pool and took a breath as he raised his arms out at 90 degrees to his shoulders and allowed his body to fall backwards in what appeared in slow motion.
I'm still trying to find a way to deal with the fact Api got no response; feels like a glitch in the Matrix and I was written out

PERSONALITY: Diana is a cautious person but not paranoid.
She was once a shy person which is why she chose to be a Coroner rather than Doctor but once the outbreak occurred her skills were needed for the living and she was pressed into service by law enforcement. This changed her on the surface, she became a bit harder as she witnessed horrors she’d never dreamed of but at her core clung to her bashful background self.
The result is a very private personality making her seem more like a hermit.

HISTORY: Diana was reading at the age of three so it was no surprise to her parents that when tested she proved to be a gifted girl. Lucky enough to be born to wealth she wasn’t allowed to grow in the poor soil of the public schools but was enrolled in the Da Vinci school in Alameda.

Diana was nurtured in an environment that strained itself to see that she grew as quickly as she was able to without pushing her but they needn’t worry because she pushed her teachers.

Diana was a silent celebrity in the scholastic world graduating school and accepted to Berkeley at 13 where she shown like a rising star and accepted to UC Berkeley’s Medical school at 15.

The school was ready for her to advance quickly and her talent of probable eidetic memory gave her an edge in testing but when visiting the hospital with her class she discovered she had a terrible bedside manner or so she thought; later she discovered it was her youth and inability to connect with her patients because of it.

Not wanting to waste her talents and schooling Diana decided that there was another direction she could take; “Pathology”. She devoted her further studies into understanding the dead and deciphering the secrets their bodies held.

When the first outbreaks began Diana was at first asked to lend her talents into understanding it but as it rapidly progressed her research took a back set to just trying to keep people breathing.

When the collapse came Diana became the Doc of a ragtag military unit made up of types across the spectrum; how long the group lasted isn’t something she talks about.

Api’s Theme

Api was surprised by the floating woman’s anger and disregard for the Institute rules, He thought there must be some rule of them mingling with the Baselines in town before they had control of their abilities. Then again he had been remiss in his reading of the handbook having had to catch up on the uniquely American curriculum and it caused him to blush.

Then he pondered her anger a bit more; she had insomuch as said she would take life if confronted by a Baseline or group of them and that truly was cause for worry.

Then he heard Sally mention a swim which was so popular among his people that even his small town had a heated olympic pool and he felt the draw of water; but then there was Temperance. How could he run off to have fun with Sally and the others after hearing her declaration?

She was obviously an adult woman and he only a 17 year old boy but he was also the son of a Lögreglustjóri of the Lögregla and hoped to in the future join Viking Force; it was a disturbing puzzle.

What should he do? Contact the staff, try and talk her out of it, or worst case prevent her from chaotically leaving and getting in trouble and possibly causing harm to his new friends by association?

”It pains me to say Floating woman but I think you should stay here and not enter the local town in such a mood. You are an Adult but Frekja, a bully by your disregard for the life of others.

Let us be friends, go swimming or if you like something else but please don’t go into town.
said Api to Temperance.

He hoped she’d not go but she might was more certain and it was also possible that she might in anger try to attack him so he focused his energies within his body to his max ready to enhance his strength to make a leap out of her attack or put her in 9 Gs of acceleration while hoping it didn’t come to that
