Bio

Hello curious person, I am Rumiko Goddess of Chaos, Benevolent Dictator; The Bluemoon Dreamer....You know a nut case

Where do I come from? I could be a smartie an say the "Great State of Denial" but lets just agree that I like keeping my RL Life disconnected from my RP Life.

I survived Guildfall and have always loved this place even though I see a lot of good RP time eaten up in Discord drivel

Alone with Myself Again?

Api’s Theme
Wayfaring Stranger

Bored Api got up and went outside onto the Institute grounds and searched for a secluded spot thinking to himself he’d discovered what he’d sought on the stormy seas above the Grand Banks months ago.

He found a spot and sat on the ground and began focusing as he did before an event dispelling doubt and all extraneous thought his mind a laser of concentration. First he slipped off the bonds of earth’s gravity becoming his own localized source as he dropped his weight like some fog made illusion. (Around Api loose leaves and twigs are affected so that they float up and are blown away by a breeze barely able to stir the leaves on the trees)

When he detects the breeze attempting to push him sideways Api creates an attractive force above himself just a bit more powerful than the wind even leaning it towards the winds direction of origin. He feels himself rising slowly but under control so he slowly stands careful of both his balance and the attractive force overhead. In only a minute he is about 200 meters in the sky and experiencing and even more powerful cross wind forcing him to lean the attractive force farther over so that when like all winds it abates he is sailing into its former orientation and flying at about 60 kph (35 mph).

Then like a tidal wave his joy at achieving his goal washes over him and he increases the force angle accelerating faster and faster the wind blowing his hair as he laughs for joy.

He wasn’t a book and he could feel the pull of his own power and how he could adjust centrifugal force be altering his lift profile like he did the attractive force so he increased his speed even more till it got to the point he needed goggles to see then slowed to a nice 120 kph (75 mph).

Knowing he is exposed as he is Api climbs towards the clouds that start about 1,500 meters over head not to dive into but to obscure his presence and to give him the altitude to recover before he slams into the ground as he tries more and more extreme maneuvers.

Then while he’s enjoying his flight he spot a flock of he thinks starlings and dives on them sending the birds into erratic patterns which he stirs over and over again laughing as loud as he can.

Back to earth and reality...it sucks

How long he flew Api didn’t care as he dove towards the spot he had launched from but when his feet touched the ground it was if the earth sucked the joy out of him; he was grounded.

As he stood there he looked up at the sky and felt it pulling at his empty heart like the sea. How alive he felt up there was hard to describe even to himself but he did know it was a place where his solitude was a blessing and not the weight it now felt like. This made him laugh, the thought that he a master of gravity felt chained when he allowed the earth beneath his feet to anchor him to its surface.

So shaking off his blues he chose a selection from his vast playlists to bring his mood up and soon he was smiling to the old school music Thunderstruck as he headed towards the dorms to do a bit more research and make notes on where the physicists got it wrong.

@RumikoOhara Freaking awesome lol. That face claim pulls off the white hair look like no one I've ever seen!

@AsteriaDelos

It's always rough getting interest

Api had been dressed down by the librarian who told him he was in future to do any experiments in approved locations and the library was for reading and that she would see if the institute wanted him to pay for the book and damage.

He had never been responsible for damaging school property and it worried him that he’d allowed himself to be so distracted he could have injured someone. He couldn’t live with himself if he allowed his own desires to fly cause someone undeserved harm.

Chastized and his eyes opened he is Gunnar as he heads back to his room where he finds it is empty; Joey is always out doing whatever.

So kicking off his shoes Gunnar lays on his bed and stares at the ceiling thinking.

He thinks of how he has changed since his mutation awoke, how he has changed since leaving home and lastly how the people here seen to be changing him. Is it a good thing or bad?

Fighting, death threats and general mayhem in his first week; was this where he belonged?

Sighing he closed his eyes.

On a Boat

”Gunnar lend a hand here” called out his uncle as he and the rest of the crew struggled to tie off the nets as the waves of the Grand Banks stirred by building Hurricanes far to the south in the mid Atlantic between Africa and South America pummeled the ship.

Giving his station one quick look to make sure nothing could be swept over the side he then joined his Uncle and Captain Helmund.

”Careful the blow doesn’t take ya” chuckled Arn a big burly man who’d shipped aboard this season his own craft now resting somewhere below with his brother and three friends.

As he hauled in the lines and made them fast along with all hands Gunnar felt alive the Grettir riding the waves up the towering front, over the crest and then plunging like a diver towards the cold gray sea below. This was how the men of the sea had for 1,000s of years seen the world beautiful and wild, a place of life and death, chance and misfortune; it was like a drug or drink and no wonder so many saw it as a lover. No other profession was more about life than that of a fisherman and it was hard for Gunnar to think that in a few months he’d give it all up to go to America.

It was while caught by his thoughts that a rogue decided the Grettir was a blemish on the rolling sea and caught them on the Starboard quarter and grabbed the big man Arn dragging him over the side and knocking everyone but Gunnar to the deck; Arn was surely bound to join his own boat and crew if not for the fact he had an angel.

Gunnar knew he had only seconds to grab the big man so he dove into the sea after him the shock of the cold water hitting him quickly. They had maybe 20 minutes before the water temperature sucked all the energy from them but Gunnar had a trick he’d learned while in the mountains, he could make gravity reverse.

”Boy you’ve killed yourself for nothing” yelled Arn over the winds as Gunnar grabbed him

”You’ll see” was Gunnar’s answer as he struggled to overcome gravity and the life draining cold of the water.

At first nothing happened but as Gunnar focused on the dark skies above they began to slowly rise, first a foot then three till finally they broke the surface and were fully out of the water. Arn struggled confused by what was going on then realized it was Gunnar the boy he’d teased every day for being so small for his age.

”My apologies Gunnar I have misjudged you, I will see my wife and daughters yet” he said actually trying to hug the boy high above the sea.

”Arn if you could would you activate the rescue strobes so the Grettir can find us? I am not sure how long I can do this.” said Api with a laugh of relief and joy.

Spotting a stand of Bamboo near a creek Diana entered then a short time later came out with an eight foot length to which she attached her shingle (Red cross flag she liberated from a failed convoy that she displays when she gets near other breathers)

Once she had it ready she climbed onto Redhawk hooking the bottom in her left stirrup and holding it with her left hand and moving onto a road or drive she’d discovered leading her towards the windmill more or less.

As she rode to both announce her approach and to steady her own nerves she sang an old blues gospel Soul of a Man
She found comfort in the old song as she remembered hearing it the first time back when the world was a place that was becoming harder to believe wasn’t a dream.

Old World Dreams

”Hey Doc you need to stop daydreaming else some mucky ill get cha.” Said Larry one of the irregulars she rode with.
Sergeant Wains told the skinny boy to leave her alone because she’d had it rough the past few days.

It had been hard but that’s not why she allowed her mind to wander, no she was taking tally of all the things she’d never know, that she’d never see, that were faded dreams.

She had been luckier than most her parents having money to pay for her college but making by on mostly scholarships so she’d had enough money herself to buy a lovely little fixer upper that could see the bay and gate on clear days and in quiet little neighborhood.

She had a little Bug convertible she had bought at the police auction lucky no collectors had know it was up for sale or else the bid would have climbed past her willingness to pay but that was how her life had been; “A Lucky One”

Nw she was in a new world and it was filled with horrors that should have given her nightmares but she’d never had one of those before or even here. She wondered if she were broken.

Beneath her was a good horse whose name was Redhawk a name he’d had when he was given to her by a family of Ranchers who had had a woman in trouble and needed a C-section delivery to save child and mother. She loved horses.

Then the thought of love popped in asking why hadn’t she ever found love or even a lover before it all passed away? It wasn’t as if men or women hadn’t ever showed her any interest.

Back to Reality

She’d allowed her mind to wander again, pressed her luck again and she thanked whatever was watching over her that she had luck and a good horse as her sharp eyes scanned the area around her. 20/10 her vision was an asset in this new world as it revealed the blurry distance giving her a better chance to spot danger before it got close enough to harm her though she was no fool to think it allowed her to see the well hidden.

The windmill people had to have watchers and they had to be good to have so easy to spot an asset as those gleaming white blades that turned gracefully in the sunlight. She had seen some sign of recent activity here and there as she traveled toward hope or damnation but no people.

Then she was startled hearing the sounds of gunfire or so she thought till she realized it was fireworks.

Was someone using them to draw or distract infected like Wains had several times or as silly as it seemed celebrating? She registered the direction as best she could and knowing whatever the reason the sound was like chumming the waters as far as the infected were concerned so she wasn’t headed anywhere in that direction and lucky for her the windmill...mills……

Dam there was more than one, she thought but didn’t alter her course headed towards them like the lighthouse beacon to safe harbor

Ami had been helping the injured healing their wounds but was overwhelmed by the horror of disease. This place was under a pestilence that stank in her nostrils and even seemed to try and stain her very soul; none of this could be allowed to stand.

So the shadow girl stood from her position near a wounded child she’d healed of the pestilence and walked outside her wings glowing like intangible illusions made of flames followed by one of the Taxi who it seemed had appointed herself Ami’s guardian protector.

The older Taxi watched as Ami drew on the earth a circle of fire that burned brightly but gave off no heat, consumed nothing it touched only making the ground within glow and flower all around the feet of its creator.

Vasa Coca Vin No, Vasa Coca Vin No Nos
(Hear me Mother, Hear me Mother Please)
Sino Vin Asara Coldare Chee
(Mother your child’s heart is breaking)
Esta Es Artura Keen Ar
(Fill my Heart with your Love)

Ami’s left hand touches the broach hat her breasts touching a hidden clasp that releases her scant clothing to tumble to the ground as she sings an ancient spell to the Mother Earth and assumes the guise of a Hierophant Seraphim. Her wings spread and the earth near her seems to tremble then burst into a riot of colors as every plant within 20 feet of her is filled with life energy.

Vasa Coca Vin No, Vasa Coca Vin No Nos
(Hear me Mother, Hear me Mother Please)
Sino Vin Asara Coldare Chee
(Mother your child’s heart is breaking)
Esta Es Artura Keen Ar
(Fill my Heart with your Love)

A globe of light surrounds Ami her hair taking on the blood aspect, the water of life.

Hisa Vin Aldi Ina Ma Chee
(Take all within my heart)
Jeffe Sos Es Aldi Mas Ze Es
(I offer my life to you, my very soul)
Proma Viate, Proma Viate
(I cry for them, I cry for them)

Suddenly Ami’s intangible wings become gleaming gold as the flames around her grow brighter

Her true aspect revealed

The Taxi woman stands in awe briefly then falls to her knees in supplication and begins praying as the effect of the spell and power in the Seraphim child surrounds everything in a glowing aura of gold.

Ami lifts off the ground on a column of golden flame and the healing effect starts spreading rapidly as she tries to heal the entire town of Pearl and banish all of the rot that afflicted it.

What she does is forbidden by the throne of any of her caste because it involves her using her life force and soul to power it but she doesn’t care. Ami is a healer and she is compelled by her gift to heal any in need her own life forfeit if needed.

The clouds overhead spread out in a rolling wide circle so that the Sun itself adds it’s light to her own making her into a smaller sun and as difficult to gaze on.

Ami unseen cries tears of joy which on striking the soil become tiny motes of light that spread out in every direction and any plant, person, or animal is healed by contact.

During the spectacle those blessed and of good hearts see lost loved ones redeemed rise up and flow into the small sun which is Ami. She stops at around 500 feet above the town her light covering everything exposed some of the locals even drawing out into the open those sick in their homes even their babes in hope that they will be blessed by what they see.

She smelled him before she saw him and so had raised her Head Cracker holding it in a high stance her feet placed in a wide stance so she could pour every ounce of her weight and strength into the swing and the skinny tall infected male didn’t keep her waiting. Leaning back just before the swing and then pushing all of her body into the Bat she connected hearing a half second later the crack of bone breaking as she stepped aside the Infected falling to the ground near her feet. Recovering the bat as Wain’s had taught her she brought it down on the back of the skull of the now still attacker making an insurance deposit that he was now permanently dead.

”If you can hit them twice to make sure they stay down cause you never know”

Diana then remained where she was her ears and eyes sweeping the area for any signs he had friends as she worried if the sounds of her bat strikes might have alerted any of the Windmill people. The birds had stopped singing momentairly laying low till they could decide if the coast was clear as a light breeze stirred the leaves forcing her to rely on her sharp eyes.

After two minutes to clear the area of any chance of other infected Diana headed to Redhawk taking care to go on her belly at least four times so she could listen from a hiding place in the scrub. She had a good laugh inside her own head thinking how silly she would have looked to the pampered and careless old self. She was now what she’d always called a human animal but never really meaning it or understanding it, a clever animal; a breathing animal.

There was good reason most animals moved through the world in a state of paranoia, they didn’t want to be eaten and in the natural world everything was food to something else eventually.

When she found Redhawk he only acknowledged her with a small toss of his head because he too understood that sound was a sure way to let things know he was near. So she inched close to his legs and waited about 45 minutes before slowly standing and once completely erect she stood as still as a statue for another 15 minutes paying close attention to her horses ears and nostrils as she used her eyes to scan the terrain for movement.

Satisfied that she was alone; no more infected or breathing she lead Redhawk out of their temporary hiding place moving back the way she had come so she could keep as much of the ridge between herself and the windmill. As she and her only companion a horse walked a meandering course between the low scrub she thought more about her situation.

Alone verses the Unknown
  • Alone she was an easy target for every manner of predator breathing or infected. Sure she could depend on Redhawk but even he could be slipped up on like they were about 7 days ago; she had been lucky when the three infected stepped on a mirror hidden beneath the leaves around her camp.
  • Unknown she could be walking into a situation where the people there were ruled by a despot who would force her to be their doctor and allow his thugs turns with her a situation she couldn’t allow.
  • Alone she was human and needed the company of her kind or she’d soon be carrying on conversations with Redhawk and expecting or fabricating answers to keep her company.
  • Unknown she could have everything including her horse taken and be herself sold to some Trader who dealt in slaves; she had met two women with hollow eyes who had managed to escape such a situation about a month ago. She had to kill them when they tried to kill her and take her things. What a waste.
  • Alone all her knowledge both before and after the outbreak would die with her and it seemed a crime to allow that to happen. She had no aspirations that she was the keeper of knowledge but she did know that letting the knowledge of medicine slip even further back than it already had against her oath to aid those that needed her and out here by herself she was in violation of that same oath.
  • Unknown…..To hell with the unknown she thought as she wheeled Redhawk toward the Windmill
