It was nice knowing you, 2023. I only hope the year that comes after you is just as nice to know.
Brutrumukk let out a quiet grunt as the needle drew blood. But when he felt the lycanthropy begin to course through his veins, the bugbear gnome began to grin. He felt the strength he had lost return to him and then some. He felt the invincible power that the stories had spoken of. And he felt the spirit of the tiger within him, offering power in exchange for prey. Brutrumukk agreed to those terms without hesitation. Then he doubled over in pain. As he felt his body begin to change, Brutrumukk barely managed to grab on to the cloak that Jub had lent to him, pulling it off his rapidly expanding body and casting it back to the feet of its true owner. Brutrumukk then fell to his knees with a cry of pain that shifted into a bestial roar halfway through as his nails turned to claws and orange fur with black stripes sprouted from and obscured his hot pink skin.
Or that's what Brutrumukk thought happened anyway. In reality, he was still just a gnome and the delusion that the darklings had placed on him had simply made him think that he was changing.
With the 'transformation' complete, Brutrumukk rose to his feet a gnome 'no longer'. The 'weretiger' let out a delighted 'purr' before speaking for the first time in his 'hybrid form'. "Oh it feels good to 'ave fur again." Brutrumukk declared before fixing his gaze on the darklings who had made him this way. "Sorry, you two. But I can't 'ave you makin' anymore weretigers. This place ain't big enough fer more than one."
A moment after those words were spoken, a bolt of light shot out of his chest and struck one of the darklings. It didn't seem to have much of an effect though. Brutrumukk made a note to wonder about that when battle wasn't at hand, then charged the darklings. In his 'new lycanthropic form', he vaulted the counter with ease and brought a 'claw' down on the darkling that the light had flown towards. However, the darkling managed to evade the attack. "HRUGGEK!" Brutrumukk roared as battle commenced in earnest.
Brutrumukk embraces his 'lycanthropy'. His alignment changes to true neutral.
Bonus Action: Brutrumukk enters a rage. He rolls an 8 on the Wild Surge table* and fires a bolt of light at one of the darklings. The darkling makes the save and takes no damage. (The save DC is 12)

At the end of the current turn, the spirit explodes, and each creature within 5 feet of it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 force damage. Until your rage ends, you can use this effect again, summoning another spirit, on each of your turns as a bonus action.

8: A bolt of light shoots from your chest. Another creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 1d6 radiant damage and be blinded until the start of your next turn. Until your rage ends, you can use this effect again on each of your turns as a bonus action.
Brutrumukk will be making use of his Magic Awareness feature. Until the end of his next turn, he knows the location of any spell or magic item within 60 feet of him that isn’t behind total cover. When he senses a spell, he learns which school of magic it belongs to.
Each of Chwegwn's six bodies reacted differently to the sight of Kira's hand unfolding into a set of tools. One body looked on in fascination at the tools and their seemingly impossible precision and elegance. One body winced and looked away from the unsettling sight. One body tried to hum along to the almost music of the tools' clicking as they calibrated the weapon. One body was looking down at its own hands with a thoughtful expression on its face, imagining all sorts of useful gadgets that one could have at quite literally the palm of one's hand. One body was standing at the edge of the box, looking out across the arena. And the last body, the one that Kira had chosen to focus on, watched Kira work with the casual neutrality of someone witnessing something completely mundane.
"I'll give you this fix for free. Can't go selling faulty guns," Kira spoke up after a moment. "and I'll split you cut from the bag when I'm done."
"Thank you kindly." Chwegwn's casual body spoke with a grateful nod of its head.
"What's next for Kontina's only Goblin captain, and my uncharacteristically restrained cousin over there?" Kira asked after some more silence. "Good card for today, if you want to stay and try to double your earnings. Celebrate a fruitful trade with me."
"Oh yeah, we're definitely staying for the fights." The body Chwegwn had looking out over the arena answered eagerly. "It's not everyday you get the chance to enjoy a show from the private box of a Council Captain."
"And I'm sure a few wagers here and there wouldn't hurt." Chwegwn's unsettled body added as it tried desperately to focus on anything other than Kira's unfolded hand.
"After that... I imagine we'll be setting sail soon." Chwegwn's fascinated body continued as he moved to get a better view of the tools. "Now that I've found myself a ship's doctor, I feel confident enough to go out and do some proper piracy."
"Unless, of course, you already have an idea in mind for that last job I owe you." Chwegwn's thoughtful body finished up.
