The Summer heat makes it difficult for me to think straight. Anyone I'm writing with should expect regular delays on my end until the temperature goes down.

I happened upon this AI song creator called Suno a day or so back. I used it to turn the drinking song Brutrumukk sang at the Witchlight Carnival into an actual song. It is a lot of fun.
@mattmanganon

Quick question, are there other people nearby or is it just Vinca, Klara, and Vanovar?
Bartholomew would deem those terms acceptable. But before giving his word to do anything, he would insist on reading the contract that D'Arcy signs to ensure that the Lieutenant hasn't snuck any changes to the deal into the fine print. He will be very thorough in his reading. Very thorough. It will be quite the time consuming process.

Of course, if Lieutenant D'Arcy was to offer a little something extra up front as a show of good faith, that would assuage enough of Bartholomew's doubts to move things along.
Brutrumukk

The silence stretched between them, thick and tense, as Brutrumukk stared Jub down, waiting for a response. Jub however, remained silent. The goblin's mouth opening briefly before closing again, as if words had escaped him entirely. After a few more moments of awkward stillness, Brutrumukk gave a small, triumphant nod, taking Jub’s silence as a clear sign of concession. With a satisfied grin, the bugbear gnome turned on his heel, leaving the goblin behind without a second thought. His focus shifted to Aaliyah and without hesitation he set off after her, prepared to follow her lead to wherever she intended to go.
I just made a miniature for Bartholomew in Hero Forge.
@Birdboy

Understandable. Thanks for playing, Birdboy. Should you ever rediscover your creative energies, know that you are more than welcome to rejoin the game.
I rolled two basic successes. I then attempted to re-roll for a critical, but lost one of the basic successes instead.
This is of course merely a suggestion for polite conversing or haggling.

What would you suggest for impolite haggling? Currently, Bartholomew is trying to leverage the fact that there is an angry mob at D'Arcy's door and that Bartholomew is the only one willing to supply the Lieutenant's demand for help to drive up the payout he'll get from this job.
An amused smile played across Grandfather Trafalgar's lips when Miloh thought that the merchant's use of 'Sonny Jim' was an attempt at guessing Miloh's name. The old man opened his mouth to set the record straight, but paused when he saw Miloh turn to look at something behind them. When the sight caused Miloh's hackles to raise, Grandfather Trafalgar looked to see what had sparked such a reaction and saw a white haired woman, bedecked in runic plate and holding a formidable war axe, approaching them. "Steady now, Miloh." The storyteller spoke to the boy in a soft, calming tone. "I don't believe she means to look so threatening." The Ćororo elder straightened himself up then and turned his gaze to Caria. "Lasho dyes tuke, friend!" Grandfather Trafalgar called out to the new arrival in friendly greeting. "What brings you so armed to this place of festivity?"
Bartholomew saw no reason to correct D'Arcy's misconception over him not being local. Though that last sentence was definitely a record that needed to be set straight. "Take?" The Boggart asked. "No no no... You will not be taking my help. You will be paying for it. And don't think for a second that the standard rate for outside help is going to cut it. I know you Imps only consider that option when you've exhausted all others. So... let's talk crystal."
