I have a tentative interest in this. May or may not make a CS.

Also, I see a few familiar faces in here. You may or may not remember me.

Michael watched as Vera stormed off in a rage. Whatever had happened between Alexandria and Vera, it wasn't pleasant. Jeez, what a c- Michael thought to himself before the sudden increase in cheers and jeers from the audience caught his attention. Making his way through the crowd, he was just in time to see one of the contestants, that guy that tried to get Andras kicked out of the tournament, german suplex a literal cow girl into the ground. He was mildly impressed by the feat, but not as much as the girl shrugging off the blow and retaliating by swinging poor Parker around like a ragdoll. Parker evidently knew his way around a fight, but Mina's raw power was more than he could handle. It was a shame too. Michael wanted to have a bout with him, but it seemed it wasn't meant to happen today.

Michael's mind was getting a little jumbled, deliberating his options for what to do with both his curiosity of Alex's past and how to handle the rest of his opponents in the Midnight Tournament. He decided to go find Alex first. Andras did take a bit of a beating in her match against Vera, and he wanted to make sure she was ok. Even if she wasn't, one of his first aid Symbolisms was sure to help fix her up.

Michael was a bit unnerved at Vera's gaze, but he tried not to let that show in his face. Besides, he was too determined in his quest for answers to be discouraged by that alone. "I've known Alex for some time now, not too long after she woke up from her coma," Michael replied. "I was there when she began physical therapy, and when she began to explore the depths of her powers." As he began to slowly pace back and forth, he continued, "What I never got to learn was what happened to her. Why she was in a coma to begin with. Why no one visited her during her stay in the hospital. At first, I just chalked it up to her simply having no friends. But when I questioned her about it, she tended to go sullen and silent, sometimes even have a panic attack, and I decided not to bring up the subject around her again."

He stopped pacing and turned back to Vera. "And now, you have arrived. Someone who knows of Alex's past, and can hopefully give me the answers I'm looking for. What happened to Alex? What happened between the two of you? And why did you never visit her?" Michael asked.

Michael watched Andras' and Vera's fight with interest, which eventually turned into concern. At first, Michael was curious to see just what other abilities Andras could pull out with those cards, as well as what Vera was capable of. As the fight progressed, however, Michael gleaned more than a few details, and not just about the fight. Vera certainly knew how to throw a punch, while Andras seemed to struggle. Soon, Vera had dominated Andras, and without even using any powers. At the last second, however, it seemed Andras would make a comeback, only to miss her attack on purpose due to her feelings interfering. Vera then conceded and began to leave.

Michael was torn between two options. For one, he could go comfort Andras, his friend whose emotions he couldn't read but could guess didn't stray too far from anything beyond stunned surprise. On the other hand, he could go after her psycho childhood friend who seemed to have a complicated relationship with her. After a short contemplation, he decided that he would try to question Vera a bit. After all, it seemed Andras would be fine for the time being, and it wouldn't hurt to go after the pink-haired crazy bitch... right?

Michael decided to draw a large shield icon across his chest, which enchanted his body, making it feel like his body was covered in leather armor. He didn't want to take chances when talking to Vera. While he did so, he ran after her, shouting, "Hey, wait! Just-just a minute!" Assuming her caught up to her, Michael would then proceed to ask, "You seem to have a bit of history with our mutual friend, Alexandria. Mind sharing a few details?"

Michael was curious to see how Andras' next match would go. It would be interesting to see what others cards Andras would use, hoping to gain some inspiration for other applications of his Symbolism. Unfortunately, it seemed there would be unforeseen developments as a pink-haired girl came onto the stage and knocked out Andras' opponent with little effort. What's more, the girl seemed to know Andras, and was shocked to see her for some reason. This puzzled Michael. Back when Andras was still recovering from her coma, she had briefly mentioned something about past friends, but could never get any more details than that. Now it feels Andras' history was catching up to her.

Michael raised a hand in opposition to Parker's protest. "I say let her stay," Michael argued. "Anyone with eyes can see that nothing about this was planned. And besides, anyone who could get knocked out that easily wasn't going to be much of an opponent anyway. We all saw how easily Andras took out her first opponent, why would she need to cheat now?"

Michael then tried to peer through the ice dome, still curious about Andras' history. She was never willing to share, and it had caused her great distress anytime Michael tried to probe into it, so he kept a respectable distance from the topic. Now it seems there was an opportunity to get some answers.

Michael was originally going to put in a little effort and make a hole in the dome. Others, however, were not so patient and broke down the ice first. Michael was also going to ask a few questions of his own, but Vera's fiery temper caused him to stay his tongue. He wisely decided that he would wait until tensions died down before he would ask anything, especially as it now seemed that Vera would be Andras' new opponent.

Michael had a curious expression on his face as he stared at Alexandria, curious about the "Andras" name. He hadn't heard this name before. It certainly never came up before in the times they hung out. Clearly, it was a persona to use in situations like this tournament. Whatever the case, Michael didn't really care about it.

In the end, he decided to play along with her. Shrugging, he replied, "Alright then, Andras. Just wanted to say that I wanna see more of these amazing feats you can do with this 'Root of All Magic'." At the very least, Michael knew her ability was the real deal, and it was what fascinated him the most about her. "I have high expectations of you," he added, smiling back at Andras. Leaning closer, Michael whispered to her, "If you want to use a persona, though, might I suggest bringing a mask or something, so a situation like this doesn't happen again?"

Michael looked down at his wrists and forearms, trying to determine more efficient shapes for his Symbolism. Michael was trying to use the Midnight Tournament for training rather than actually winning it. For now, he was determined to use only his Symbolism, and only to give his body a physical boost. He wanted to know how far he could go by relying on hand-to-hand combat.

Michael got lucky with his first opponent, who had the ability to enlarge his muscles and increase his strength. Michael painted symbols all over his body, increasing the resistance of his upper body while also increasing the speed of his lower body. He also painted symbols around his eyes to aid their ability to observe his opponent's movements. He believed these enhancements would be enough to serve his purposes. After all, Michael's opponent was strong and tough, but slow. Michael spent the majority of the fight dodging and deflecting blows. Michael did face some attacks he could not evade a couple times when his opponent stomped on the ground and released a shockwave that knocked him down and disoriented him. However, Michael managed to roll away to recover before any real damage could be done.

Eventually, his opponent began to show signs of exhaustion, prompting Michael to begin his counterattack. The muscleman tried to defend himself, but Michael was just a bit faster, slipping past his defenses and hammering away at him. Michael did not give him a chance to use big moves, and the small ones were easily countered. Any of his opponent's attempts to strike back were met with a deflection using one arm and a solid strike using the other.

Finally, Michael's moves took its toll on his opponent, and the muscleman fell to the ground, battered and defeated. The spectators cheered as he went down, and Michael placed his hands on his knees, taking deep breaths to recharge his body's energy. It was only the first round, after all. He still had a few more to take on, and he wanted to be ready for them.

The next fight ended much quicker. Sometimes, people just wanted to watch a quick beatdown, and that was what Andras provided. There was an exchange of grandeur and posturing, and then the match was over with a simple beam attack. Michael never did understand the desire to display so much bravado and, quite frankly, found it ridiculous. Still, at this point it was basically a ceremony to perform in each battle, so Michael did not dwell on it too long. As the match ended, Michael provided a simple clapping as a gesture of congratulations to Andras.

"That was a powerful blow, Alexandria, but was the one-liner really necessary?" Michael asked, his arms crossed and an eyebrow raised.

Taking a headcount. How many of us are still here?

Name: Michael Angie
AKA Michelangelo

Age: 16

Grade: St. Laurel's School of Divine Excellence, 2nd year

Biography: Michael grew up in a poor family with a single mother, who barely made ends meet to put food on the table. It wasn't much, but it was enough for the two to be happy enough. At least, it was enough, until one day a bully began to make his life miserable. The bully in question had influential parents as well, making it difficult to punish him. As a result, Michael couldn't do much to lessen the abuse he was receiving. He tried asking for help from friends and teachers, but both chose to look the other way. Coincidentally, the bully's father was also Michael's mother's boss, who was also undergoing some troubles of her own at work. Michael was left alone, with nothing but his family and the occasional stray animal for support. He liked animals, even if he couldn't afford to keep a pet.

As time passed and everyone discovered their powers, the bullying only became worse. The bully had obtained a typical steel-skin super strength ability while Michael had ink coming out of his fingers. At first, it was torture. However, Michael was not completely helpless. While all this was happening, Michael did what he could to figure out how his power worked and how best to apply it. He worked and experimented tirelessly, and it eventually paid off. With his newfound knowledge, Michael was able to stand on equal ground against the bully, and even overpower him. The bully's father attempted to get payback, but the company found evidence against the father's various harassment and embezzlement cases, and he was promptly fired. Michael's mother was also promoted to a higher position, and the two were able to live more comfortably. With the bully out of sight and out of mind, things were looking up.

Powers:
CORE: The World is Your Canvas
Michael can generate ink from his own body as will, and manipulate it as he sees fit. The ink travels quickly, allowing him to draw complex pieces that normal artists would take days in a matter of seconds. This allows him to create works of art that projects his will onto the world, limited by his imagination. Should he infuse his creations with power, the energy needed will come from his own body, and will be drained proportionally to the amount of power he wishes to infuse. The more complex and detailed pieces of art will allow him to infuse more energy than those he spends less effort on. However, if he does not have the energy reserves needed, he will drain himself dry and pass out.

SUB 1: Symbolism
By drawing patterns and/or symbols, Michael can apply a series of buffs and/or debuffs, involving things such as increasing physical stats and regeneration, as well as robbing people of their senses or freedom of movement. Inanimate objects are not immune from this effect, either, and can be weakened or strengthened accordingly. Given the right symbols and/or intentions, he can even duplicate certain powers, such as generating explosions or stretching one's body like a rubber band. Many details are needed for these powers to function exactly as Michael wishes them to, such as an AoE healing ability affecting only those he considers allies. His Symbols will last for as long as Michael wants it to (or at least for as long as he's conscious), and can be dispelled by him at any time.

SUB 2: Creation
Michael draws a picture of an object, and is able to construct said object into reality. These constructs will last as long as Michael wants it to (or at least for as long as he's conscious), and can be deconstructed by him at any time. Creations typically need to be drawn to a 1:1 scale to reach a desired size.

SUB 3: Animation
With additional effort, Michael can bring his creations to life, granting them basic sentience and absolute loyalty to him. Inanimate objects will float around, machines will function as Michael realistically imagines them to, and creatures will even be able to speak.
