Bio

Hi! I'm Shade, a girl out of central California. Roleplaying has become a hobby of sorts for me, so here I am on this lovely website. Creative writing is a favorite pastime of mine, so exercising it with the help of other people brings me a lot of joy.

I have school during the day, so I'm usually active from 4-10 P.M. PST.

@Sho Minazuki Quick question. So, we can create our own events, like running into a specific Pokemon. But our GM is the one that would control the event and whether or not we'd catch that Pokemon, right?
@Deos Morran I know I'm super late on this, but I'm glad you're okay! Take care of yourself. You've been through a lot, jeez o_o

As the trio walked down Route 13, Roxy found herself growing increasingly curious about the Zamak Ruins. She'd only ever read about it in the books her school had on the Chromis Region, which was admittedly not all that much. "I wonder what we'll find at the Zamak Ruins! Maybe we'll get to find some rare Pokemon there? Or what if we stumble across fossil Pokemon?" That would be almost painful for her, if they did find fossil Pokemon. And a bit ironic, seeing as she was so far from her parents, but at the same time finding them in almost everything she saw. Her parents would probably kill to see the Zamak Ruins in person. She pushed the thought out of her head, though, endeavoring to focus on the prospect of seeing new Pokemon. She recalled that the ruins held a great deal of ghost, ground, and rock type Pokemon. Catching a rock type would probably be a good idea, seeing as Lucina had trouble dealing with flying type Pokemon.

Roxy noticed the ground becoming rockier as she and her friends came across a small dig site, just on the outskirts of the ruins. Tourists brushed past them on their way to the Zamak Ruins, leaving the excavators to their work. Roxy couldn't help but take a few steps toward the edge of the site, noticing a somewhat sheer drop downward. Lucina anxiously tugged on Roxy's leg, pulling her back away from the edge of the excavation site. "What do you guys think is down there?" she asked, turning to look at her two friends. Aiden seemed excited about going down there to help them, which made Roxy just a bit uneasy. There were scientists down there who probably knew her parents; in fact, Roxy might have met a couple of them. "I, well...okay, sure," Roxy replied, uncharacteristically shy all of the sudden.

Novis was, once again, already rushing off ahead of them and jogging toward someone who seemed to be studying sedimentary rock along the wall of the excavation site. That actually made sense, seeing as they were in a desert, and fossils were usually found in sedimentary rock anyway. She only knew this because of her parents' extensive research into the subject of fossils, of course, but maybe that would be useful if they were going to help out these scientists. "We should, um, probably go follow him," Roxy said to Aiden before hurriedly jogging down the same path Novis had with Lucina in tow. She paused several feet behind him, though, when she heard him describe their little trio as "strong, mysterious strangers." What was he doing? Turning wide-eyed at Aiden, then back at Novis, Roxy found herself not knowing how to react.

As the trio headed out of the lab, Roxy couldn't help but excitedly drum her fingers against the straps of her backpack. She was eager to get started, and evidently Aiden was as well, seeing as he was already putting together their travel plan. Roxy stood on the tips of her toes and leaned over his shoulder to look at the map on his Pokedex, studying the distance from Beryllium City to the Zamak Ruins. It'd be kind of a long trip, that's for sure; and the longer, the better. Novis-who, Roxy suddenly realized, still didn't know their names-piped in, talking about Devarda and Ormolu; they seemed as good of places as any, assuming they headed out from the Zamak Ruins. "If the Zamak Ruins really do have strange Pokemon, then that's a great place to fill out our Pokedexes. We can restock in Devarda, too, if we need to."

At that moment, Novis suddenly bolted forward, dragging Aiden along with him. Roxy, being totally left in the dust, just laughed and pulled Lucina onto her back as she ran to catch up with them. Evidently, he'd let go of Aiden at some point, so now they were both far behind while he ran on ahead. Pausing next to Aiden-and, admittedly, trying to catch her breath-she couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Did he do track in school or something?" She almost thought he'd run all the way to Devarda by himself, but he eventually turned around and ran straight back toward them. "I just realized, I never actually got your guys' names! Got a bit too excited, I guess." Roxy laughed again, practically skipping as the trio headed down Route 13. "I'm Roxy! This here is Lucina," she replied, gesturing toward the Riolu she was currently giving a piggyback ride to.

Kitala felt a wave of relief as the crowd seemed to disperse a bit, meaning her ordeal was thankfully over. Xerath took one look at her pouty expression and immediately had to restrain laughter, which made Kitala take a mental note to not go easy on him if they ever got to spar together. Hell, she was a bit tempted to sucker punch him right then and there. "For someone so tough you can act like a baby sometimes, but overall good job handling the situation, I was sure you were gonna start something." At that, Kitala just rolled her eyes. "If I'm a baby, then I can't imagine what that would make you. And for the record, I was going to start something until...well...you know." It was at that moment that she remembered her donut was on the table next to her. She gingerly took it in her hands and started to slowly nibble on it.

Then Xerath turned to Sihu and asked her why she was bullying a Harpy's Wing member. Kitala couldn't help but grin at the remark; any mention of a Harpy's Wing member getting their *ss handed to them put a smile on her face. "I think a better question would be, why not bully a member of another guild?" Then she turned to face her other guildmate. "Sihu, if you plan on getting into a fight, please let me join in." She was still a bit disappointed that she hadn't gotten to sock that Harpy's Wing girl in the face, to be honest. But she had a feeling that there would be other chances for a fight. And besides...there were people around here. Imagine if they'd caused someone's festival stand to get destroyed, or if they somehow managed to cause a building to cave in? She felt a pang of regret just at the thought of it. Maybe it was for the best. But enough of that, she thought. "Also, Xerath, the next time Golem's Hand has a sparring session, you're my partner. And I'm going to knock your teeth out."

@Lichthart Thanks! I'm fairly confident I'll be okay, at least. Just a hectic week is all.

EDIT: @Sen I realized that I completely missed your post in the IC. Fixed mine, sorry about that.
It's finals week for me, so I haven't been super active. Should start back up again come Saturday, though.
Waiting on @pkken before I post~

EDIT: @Sho Minazuki Hey, fancy seeing you here.

Roxy was animatedly talking to Aiden, until she noticed someone new come up to them both. She didn't mind, as he seemed friendly enough and she was always willing to make friends with strangers. Her first impression was that he seemed...almost afraid of Zorex? Seeing as he asked if the little Gible bites, she wondered if he'd had some bad run-in with one before. He then went on to apologize for asking, causing Roxy to smile just a bit. At that point his gaze shifted to her, causing her to grin wider. After all, she wanted to come off as friendly as possible. She remembered someone once telling her that she smiled too much, which just seemed crazy to her. How can anyone smile too much?

"New trainers too, yeah? You guys doing Contest or League?" Roxy nodded, having only been a trainer for a couple weeks. She also figured that she'd end up doing both the contests and the League; why not experience all Chromis had to offer? "Yeah, I'm pretty new to all this...I've only been at it for a couple weeks. I'm planning on doing both the contests and the League. What about you?" She glanced at Aiden as he answered the same questions, her eyes widened a bit in surprise. Eight years? No wonder he'd beaten her. Roxy suddenly felt a good amount of respect for her fellow trainer-as well as a degree of competitiveness. She had quite the competition, then, huh?

"Come on guys let's walk and talk. I'm not sure about you guys, but I still need to register and it looks like this will be our last chance." Roxy suddenly remembered that she also had to register for the contests as well as the League...she'd been totally distracted by the prospect of a battle that she totally forgot. She followed behind Aiden, registering for the League just after he did. The trio walked and talked, and as they did Roxy managed to catch a name: Novis. Afterward came the contests, which she was definitely excited for; it was pretty obvious, given that she was giggling as she filled out all the registration forms. Finally registered for the contests and the League, Roxy turned to look at Lucina with an excited grin. "You excited for this, Lucina? We've got quite the journey ahead of us here."

"Which way you two heading after this? I'm heading West, but it'd be way smoother a trip with some buddies on the way, y'know?" Roxy looked back up at him, noticing the grin on his face. Guess he lightened up a bit, then? "Ummm, probably toward the Zamak Ruins. If you joined up with us, that would be, like, the best thing ever."
