Slimmer in physique than most in his unit, but nevertheless absolutely combat-worthy. His entire body is littered with scars of varying severity, from both active combat and his rough upbringing. Numerous tattoos, including the mythical Terran creature referred to as a 'dragon' on his lower right arm, a 'grim reaper' on his lower left arm, a feathered wing on his upper left torso and another, 3d 'dragon' on his left shoulder styled in a way to appear as though it is perched there.

Prior to signing up with the Republic Military, James spent his early life in and out of trouble with law enforcement and local gang culture on Paladia, a 'slum world' for lower class citizens. His father was a law enforcement officer killed when he was 9, his mother was a housewife pregnant with his 9-years younger sister at the time. The event caused her to transition into a violent drunk, tempered only by the birth of her daughter. Faced with violent abuse at home and rampant gang crime outside of it, he was inevitably absorbed into the latter. Multiple criminal convictions: possession of a Class-A controlled substance, possession of a bladed weapon and possession of a firearm. Suspected to be responsible for at least three homicides, but cases were dropped after a lack of evidence. Enlisted at the local recruitment branch no less than 4 days after his 16th birthday, the minimum age threshold for basic training. He used military service as an escape from a broken home.

Having Enlisted right at the cusp of the Federal Secession war, James wasn't afforded any additional training as he was pushed through basic training and into active service as soon as he was able. Intially deployed as part of the 24th Strike Battalion, known colloquially as the Republic's Meat grinder for its startlingly high mortality rate, He spent multiple tours in some of the most gruesome conflicts of the early years of the war, including the failed Siege of Nosck, the Fall of New Volo and the Federal Invasion of Thane.

Most Notable of these was the Fall of New Volo, during which a surviving officer noted his effectiveness with a stolen MORITA SR20-D while covering retreating allies. This was again noted on Thane, and a formal request was made by his CO for specialist Marksman Training. Upon completion of this training, he was formally reassigned to the 201st Special Operations Division, where he further proved his skill with a sniper rifle. He was typically attached to a partner or small fireteam, tasked with infiltration of enemy lines and the elimination of HVTs. Notable Kills include Rodrick Steinman, Fleet Commander of the Federal 2nd Fleet and Lieutenant Colonel Haytham Waters, the Federation commander responsible for the extensive campaign against Republic forces along the Polaris Front. He has also been linked to multiple Black-ops missions pertaining to the assassinations of high-profile non-combatants and defectors, but all information is restricted beyond anything but High Command. The effectiveness of his unit and his own outstanding kill record lead to an officer of Republic High Command to once refer to him as 'their own personal Grim Reaper'.

With the loss of ODIN Technology to the enemy and subsequent shift of focus into ODIN Combat, the 201st was one of many existing outfits that was re-organised into ODIN Classification. Other than the alterations to deployment method and subsequent equipment changes, their operational objectives were largely unchanged. During the closing months of the war, it was noted upon review of his service record that a soldier of his calibre would normally be many several ranks higher, but his aggressive nature, disregard of military authority and blatant distain for the Republic in general was resultant in being passed over for promotion a large number of occasions. The same goes for his lack of decoration, as the few accolades he had gained had been awarded when Command had no excuse not to.

With the recent formation of joint ODIN Divisions, James was freely able to adjust to the change of alliances as he had no personal views on the Federation or it's citizens. He held no resentment to them during the war, simply seeing them as another notch on his rifle, and after the treaty was signed they simply became another face next to him on the parade line, and the aliens became the new notches on his rifle.

Outside of Combat, James comes across as dismissive and stand-offish. He distances himself from his fellow soldiers, and seems to hold no form of attachments to any of them. He can also display long bouts of aggression when he feels that he is being threatened or interfered with. He has a notable lack of respect for those superior in rank, and only acknowledges their command to avoid disciplinary actions. Despite all of these things, however, he has shown to care about his fellow soldiers to a certain degree.

In combat, he is noted to be cold and efficient to the point of near-emotionlessness. This makes him an effective soldier, but also negatively impacts his ability conduct 'hearts and minds' types of missions. He has no distinct morality and will far more often value the mission over the lives of the men around, but mercy isn't a foreign concept to him. He will often mercy-kill a suffering ally with no chance of recovery, to alleviate them of that suffering.

Certainly not the tallest guy around at only 5'10, with a decent amount of muscle on his slim physique but nothing to write home about. No tattoos or serious scars, apart from a multitude of small scars across his hands from building and working on his motorcycle. Typically wears a waistcoat, shirt and jeans in varying shades of grey or muted colours, usually with motorcycle boots.

Personality: James was a kind-hearted and rather well-liked boy before he left the UK, rarely seen without a polite smile on his face and eager to help out a total stranger, but when he moved to the states the sudden move and growing tension in his parents' marriage caused him to withdraw into himself. While he was still the same kind-hearted young man, he stopped smiling as much and didn't make much of an effort to make friends. This also caused him to internalise his emotions, which would result in occasional outbursts of strong emotion when his stress peaked and this was more often than not in the form of aggression, like an angry shout or physically lashing out. To avoid this, he would avoid socialising, which in turn made his unsociable nature worse.

Ability: 'Telumkinesis'/Weapon Manipulation - The ability to sense, create, control and summon weaponry. The control and summoning of weapons is fairly self explanatory: Summoning means he can store any number of weapons within a localised singularity and recall them at any time, and his Control means that he mentally control any form of weaponry with a form of pseudo-telekinesis with a maximum effective strength of around 300 Newtons (basically like someone suddenly dropping 30kg into your hands). The ability to create new weaponry, however, is more complex as he needs to know the specifications of the weapon he is trying to make and how it functions, including ammunition. The sensory effect lets him know when a weapon is within his proximity, even through solid objects, as well as allowing him to focus on specific weapons and 'download' the necessary information to replicate them with his Creation ability.

Limitations: The most obvious limitation is that its effect is limited to what which his cognition recognises as a weapon, or part thereof. This doesn't include improvised weapons, like pipes or baseball-bats. His creation ability relies on his knowledge on how a weapon functions, so more complex weapons like firearms take more time and concentration to form as he must create each part individually. His control ability relies on him being able to perceive the weapon and as such can't effect weapons that are out of both his line-of-sight and sensory range, and his control is strong enough to pull weapons out of an adult male's grip if he's not expecting it but it is possible to resist if braced for. His sensory ability is limited to 15m in it's passive state or 90m when actively searching (which takes concentration), but when focusing on specific weapons, his passive range is shortened to only 5m. Can also be blocked by high-density materials like Lead.

Background: James wasn't always an American citizen, having been born on the other side of the Atlantic in the UK. His Father worked for a large aerospace engineering company and his mother worked as a systems admin for an IT company, and he grew up with a fascination with how things worked. He did well in school, finishing his GCSEs with As and A*s across the board. Age 16, he had every intention of taking a BTEC diploma at a local collage, but that plan was thrown out off the window when his father was handed an opportunity for a major career advancement, the only thing stopping him was that he would need to move to America in order to do so. So, without even stopping to ask James' opinion, he uprooted the family and move them all to the US.

Due to his age, he was required to go to a nearby high school to supplement his educational requirements, but due to the sudden move and his unfamiliarity with local culture he had difficulty adjusting. The sudden move also put a strain on his parents' marriage, so he largely retreated inwards and spent his free-time immersed in gaming or history as a means of escape, particularly the history of warfare. As a means to try and repair the gap that had formed between them, his father once took him out to a shooting range, which fed into his love of weapons. As he progressed through his Junior and Senior years, his natural curiosity for the internal workings of mechanisms eventually lead him to build small projects when he wasn't gaming or working on his motorcycle.

After the experiments, he tended to avoid actively socialising with the others, but remained with the group after the escape for self-preservation.

Miscellaneous: Having completed his CBT before leaving the UK, James knows how to ride an automatic or manual-geared motorcycle. He owned a 125cc Suzuki Marauder before he was chosen, given to him as a present on his 18th Birthday.
