@DracarysBitch barons might be in the sense of trade barons? I don't know the answer to your queations, but I know ayz wanted something simple. The patriarchy is a diffwrent nation/state than Hourglass is, so their ranks as well as their social structure are likely different. I'm sure the hourglass nobles know who outranks whom, but my understanding is that for the purpose of simplicity the actual titles and forms of address are simply lord and lady. (And if you actually use something else you're probably seen as snobbish)

@Stern Algorithm Very interesting. You will need to discuss with @Ayzrules the specifics of which type of magic can be used to create what. My understanding was automatons could not be made with lustraya, but I wouldn't be adverse to it. Love the touch of the names! You might want to note that 8 is literal age, and put an appearance-age in parenthesis, though I note you mentioned it elsewhere. If he is eight/a young teen, my guess is that he is not yet a member of a guild, though he may have intentions to join one or close ties by way of his family.

A note on his gift: do you mean magnetic (only magnetic metals) or did you intend it to be any metal?

My other questions deal with whether his nature is readily apparent or not, and how much looking is required to determine it. Additionally, would something or someone able to control machinery be able to control his body against his wishes? What about something that influenced the magical mixture that powers him and his life?

Ayz will want to comment, I'm sure, but I love the char.

@MorningStar1399 what no, back up. First off, you can have two chars with a few things in common and they can be, as people, vastly different. Alys would never call anyone by a pet name, and she's not a social animal, for example. The fun is in seeing how similar things manifest in different ways. Why would this be an issue? Secondly I'm a newcomer to this setting; Alys is my char from Fallen London changed to fit. If anything, I'm the one that should be redoing not to duplicate, not you! And I don't see why either of us should have to.

Please, please. Don't take my commentary as a reason to feel badly about Alexander. I like him. I want to get to know him. I am more than happy to work with rewording the intro so as to be less specific. You could put a trigger warning above the category for biography, or even nest a second hider. Either would work.

And please don't go away we've only just met. =/

@MorningStar1399 no, he's not that similar. But there's echoes and it amuses me. microexpressions, intense blue-gray eyes, the line about masks. Masks was a huge thing for Vendetta!Alys. The refusing to acknowledge the father, the changing name, the disliking a certain shortening. <3
