I changed it so the bands on his tresses are sentimental and symbolic. They might protect his tentacles but its not likely. I also changed the bio so Varlo studied heavily in medicine while with Rik and traveled the galaxy learning from multiple institutions and experts of medicine for two years after he was knighted before he earned his specialization.

Katherine stands at 5 foot 9 with vivid auburn hair, bordering on being red. Her physique is slim and toned but she is much stronger than her appearance suggests. She has sky blue eyes and usually keeps her hair in a military approved bun. Her pale skin has freckles peppered in places such as her shoulders and parts of her arms. She also has freckles on both of her cheeks.

Knight Winchester is a far cry from her parents, both well respected scribes. She's gung-ho and enthusiastic at the prospect of combat. But while some younger knights detest the mechanical aspect of their jobs, her parents intellectual streak manifests here, having Knight Winchester enjoy the forging and maintenance of weapons. Though despite all this, she seems to have a romanticized notion of battle that she has refused to give up. On top of this, she has a certain indifference to the men-at-arms or grunts and views them as expendable pawns to be used at the pleasure of the brotherhood. She prefers to be called Kat by her friends and she'll definitely let you know if your her friend or not. She's a very opinionated soldier which could cause some friction among the grunts and other knights. Strategically, she's quite intelligent, knowing where to put soldiers in a battle but her disconnect from the lower ranked soldiers and very stand offish nature hurt her ability to command. However if she can grow out of these flaws I believe she can be a valuable addition.

Background:

Kat was born in 2278 in The Citadel to a pair of scribes. Growing up, her childhood was doubly strict with her parents being even more strict than standard brotherhood protocol. This led her to becoming very independent in an attempt to get away from her overbearing family. She favored action over science, guns over microscopes, bad boys over nice ones. While her brother, born 3 years after she was, always followed his parents wishes, she always went against them. In her later teenage years, she became a fan of fitness, and began working out in earnest in preparation to become a knight, something she had decided long ago.

Growing up Kat was the popular, attractive and tough "bad" girl. Despite this reputation, Kat was often a favorite of instructors due to her sheer brilliance even if she was a bit of a loose cannon. Like many others, the societal superiority of being brotherhood-borne was hammered into her and as such she views all outsiders as lesser, and men-at-arms to an extent, though she respects them much more than the standard outsider. When she entered training for knighthood, she was prepared. And though the many trials challenged her, she came out as one of the highest scoring knights of her class. Shortly afterward she graduated and was knighted. Her parents, despite past reservations about her actions and her future, swelled with pride and began to look forward to the things Kat would accomplish. Kat's first few months as a Knight were spent in a base maintaining and making weapons for those who went into the field. It was only about 6 months after she was knighted that she was assigned to a field mission.

I got the idea from warriors of the dark ages, where they would wear rings over their armor to avoid their fingers getting chopped off in battle. I'll keep looking, but if I can't find anything, I'll settle on it as being a cultural thing.

@vietmyke Considering the size of the brotherhood as your describing it now, wouldn't it be more organized to have men-at-arms with ranks such as Corporal and Staff Sergeant? For delegation purposes and such, because it seems like the east coast brotherhood has grown into the thousands range so wouldn't it be more viable to add more delegation ranks to the MAA ranking system? I'm not criticizing or anything like that, I just thought it would make more sense.

Sir Jakos is a giant of a man. He stands at 6 foot 4 inches and is pure muscle. Without his armor he has olive colored skin with warm but tired brown eyes and curly black hair. He looks to be in his early 30s. He has little fat, with a tiny bit congregating around his middle, just enough so his abdominal muscles are barely visible unflexed. His armor is beige and heavy. The symbol that his helmet presents is the insignia of his former lord.

Jakos, like other fatefallen, barely remembers anything about his past life. He's deduced from his armor and symbols that he was a warrior and from his sword, which was covered in faint scratches and nicks, he had seen much battle. Of course he had a feeling even without these clues that he had seen much battle, as blood vividly came to his memory at random times. The people in the picture that was on him, he surmised must have been someone important to him. He saw a younger version of himself and a woman holding an infant with a man with grey hair. The woman showed no resemblance to himself or the other man and the baby she was holding was darker in skin tone than she was. The man could be a relative, they had the same curly hair and dark skin and the same kind of smile. But he noticed that his younger self had his arm around the woman and they were close together. Perhaps the infant was...

Whatever the relation, Jakos always felt a wave of warmth when he looked at the photo and felt as it was his lucky charm.

_{P E R S O N A L I T Y}

Jakos sees his 'resurrection' as a sign. A sign of what, he isn't sure. He isn't a man to look into the deeper meaning of things. He's noble and honest and in a world of pain. The memory of his long gone family is seared into his brain and at times he wished he hadn't been woken up. Jakos likes up close and personal. In his humanity, his armor weighed him don significantly and his sword took a decent amount of effort to swing. But now, it seems the effort has been halved. He is an expert with his great sword, able to maneuver it in ways lesser men couldn't. Despite being a skilled combatant, Jakos is also a strategist, having extensive knowledge of battle strategy. He can effectively move allies to strategic positions to swing the battle to their favor.

- The Sergeant: Jakos's great sword, a razor sharp blade that many of his foes have fallen on and many more will fall to its wrath.

- The X-F2 Armor: A technologically advanced suit of armor, the high tech visor has many functions such as recon spotting, vitals indicator, inventory management to name a few. The armor also has a special feature where then user can focus extra protection a specific area. This renders all other functions useless however, as all power is diverted to that protection,
