The highest, most decisive experience is to be alone with one's own self. You must be alone to find out what supports you, when you find that you can not support yourself.

The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

Bio

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

There exists an alternate version of my distinctive persona which includes fantasy armor on the feline frame. It is the only canon, and only one at all, alteration I have ever made. Changes are specifically forbidden by and large for the sake of developing and dedicating to a singular idea at heart.
All I ask is that players attempt to do what they can by posting as often as they can, @DocRock. The game will move on, better or worse, without their guidance and will continue the narrative. Although without readers and participants in one, that is obviously far less exciting. So with this in mind, respond where viability allows.
I once was an exceedingly wrathful soul and it took years of practice, read conditioning and focus, to break the anger. With life now, it is a strange experience to be the serene, unshaken one who is difficult to persuade to any extreme. At times I mourn the loss of being consumed by emotions, no matter how valid they might be, even the aforementioned fury, but I would be wrong to admit this process of tempering has not made me better for it. As much this is a blessing, in many ways is it a curse; lows are not lower but so are highs not higher.
Useful information to have all the same, @Hekazu. As for the "bloodied" status, it was more just my inquiry if they seemed to be living or affected at all. Say if they were undead, I imagine they would just seemingly absorb attacks with little outward reaction. Mostly a matter of needing to know if they were unphased for some reason as that would become much more concerning and pressing.

Chapter I
"After some pawing through the texts, you discern that the loose leaves of paper appear to have been a letter, one addressed to an unknown but now their words give the strangest inkling they belong to you. Not just in the literal sense of you being the apparent sole survivor, nothing nearly so inane and meaningless, but that the odds the still visible words of "And so these are entrusted to you." as the last line before the now lost signature seem a touch upon something within you. This understanding not isolated, in your fuddling with the sea desecrated pages you would swear on your life that the books were perceived with great musing and importance; whoever owned them attributed them strange quality."

"Setting the pages aside on the sand, doing your best to prevent them from being buried or blown away by putting a shell form the shore atop them, you meander over the books. Without any text to distinguish them from one another, you begin reaching for the first and seemingly most ominous text, one of dark, perhaps once black binding. No warning from the sun high above or the island behind you, your finger hesitates to touch the text..."
Is that to be understood as the arrow appears to have done no harm, say not drawing any blood, or the creature struck is not all that wounded by the attack, @Hekazu?
I rise before the sun does with every day, fortunate enough to see the moon and stars in doing so.
The hunter laughed under his breath as he followed the little creature to the edge of the dark pit it had leapt into, setting the great blade down by his side and drawing his bow. As his fingers went to knock an arrow, a familiar voice and touch laid itself to his ears and shoulder respectively, and the priestess was there too in a moment. At first he was hesitant, the draw on his bow matching the deepening thought he had whether she was friend or foe, something instinctual in that moment after the last, most recent experience he had with her. But as his sharp, golden eyes looked back into the pit, string drawn back by those mighty limbs he offered an reply before he exhaled, "Let us."

The shot snapped forward and the bow delivered a powerful launch, the arrow seemingly disappearing into the dark before them for the eyes that could not pierce the black. While in reality it seemed wild and haphazard to shoot into the void; in reality the outlander, far from the place he belonged, had made his mark on one of the hound-like draconids. The leftmost target was, in this moment, probably unaware it could be seen if it even had an idea at all, but Brannor had a plan. One by one he would dwindle their number, casually shooting until he rid the world of these vile dragon things, be them "man" or "animal" in kind; the kobold was to be last. That was of course unless something changed, as the warrior's allies seemed to have other things in mind.

For the moment though, surrounded by a shimmering aura, he drew another arrow from his quiver, knocked the tail end and prepared to aim again.
