Garnet followed the conversation between her new 'friends' and the gnome with one ear — for a time. A time that wasn't particularly long. The man's rambles turned into little more than a buzz in the background by the time Garnet scooped up the compass and realized she knew what it was for. Or rather, where it was for; the Inner Planes.

She knew something good would come out of watching her mother carve all those old-as-all-heck runes into her blades. When she was younger, she just assumed that something would be bragging rights to her father, who said they looked like drunken kenku-scratches.

Oh, and hold up! Hadn't the others just talked about the Elemental Chaos? And how oh-so-very-difficult it was to traverse and all? Because, um, not for her! Not anymore.

"I coul' do it!" she announced from where she stood, hands on her hips, compass still visible in one hand. She was grinning again, proud of a feat not quite yet accomplished. "Tra'erse t'e place with t'e stuff 'n' thin's! Easy!"

At the very least, she had the sense not to add, 'with the compass I just stole from you'. Small victories.

Upon spotting other fishermen nearby, Elaeshor slipped away from his group. He approached the eldest of the bunch, who looked like he'd already been at it for a while, despite the early hour. Just the kind of dedication to his craft Elaeshor was looking for.

At the man's greeting, the disguised kitsune bowed politely, noting his suspicion. He was not well-versed with talking to ordinary folk not draped in silk and lies, so all he could do was wing it and hope for the best. "And a fine day to you too, sir. Pardon the intrusion, but as you might be able to guess," Elaeshor gestured at himself, "I'm afraid I'm quite out of my element here. I promised my companions here aid in trying to catch fish and feed hungry mouths, yet realized all too late that I've no idea how to do so. And I couldn't help but notice that out of everyone here, why, you seem the most at ease by the river."

He smiled, sheepish. "Might I request of you a little help? A contribution of a little of your time, and the littlest of your fish? I assure you, good sir, that your generosity will not go unsung."

Oh wow! Garnet must have been really paying attention during Ancient Rune studies... or something.

Anyway.

Oooh, veeery intriguing!

... That is, very concerning, sounds like this item of immeasurable value must be confiscated at once. For the Gods, and stuff.
Garnet got a nat 20 (reduced to a 19 bc she dum) on that history check!
Yuh, sorry for the wait, was a super busy weekend so couldn't get to it! Hoping to post soon, but for now, here's the roll so I can incorporate into the post. Did a diplomacy: request for a total of 10 (oof). Will be using Nudging Whisper though, if that helps any!

Will be posting tomorrow!
Yeah, ofc, the plan wasn't to just walk around declaring their identity, ha.

But yeah, I'll wait then.

Might be interested in playing an OC Fatui guy, if allowed! Been ages since I played Genshin so wouldn't trust myself with a canon character without some review, but can also go down that rabbit hole if necessary/preferred. Stopped playing midway through Sumeru, so likely with a character introduced before then. Itto? Ayato? Yoimiya? Childe? Idk.

Logically, Elaeshor understood what purpose the scale served. He'd read about them before, and considering what their mission was going to be, being able to breathe underwater sounded like a mighty boon. Yet he could not help feeling disgust at the thought of growing scales, let alone doing so to plunge himself into a murky river after fish. He was a man of the court, not a common kingfisher. So, with a hum, he placed the scale back on the table and finished what remained of his food.

Once the others had done the same, the group started for the river, bidding adieu to Fleur in the process. By the gods, Elaeshor respected her resolve not to lower herself to manual labour; in all honesty, he wished he could've done the same. Yet he rather needed to, if he wished to accomplish his goals.

... Unless.

As they walked, Elaeshor started to look around for any other fishermen hoping for an early catch. With any luck, he wouldn't need to touch the water himself. It would not be the first unpleasant task he had, ah, delegated to someone else, after all.
Working on a post, would there be anyone else around by the river/on the way there? Tanr wouldn't be very eager to dive into the river himself, and would much rather try to talk someone else into doing it for him! B)

Also, err, DM, would it be a major inconvenience if I did change Tanraeth name out for something else? Mostly due to the character list needing an update if I do (I'll edit my previous post to match). The similarity is starting to bother me more and more as I keep mistyping the name, haha.
