What I'm doing may be considered suicide but my kid fell asleep on the ride home and now he's passed out on my bed. Here's to him pulling a 10 hour shift otherwise work is gonna suck for us tomorrow.

Joined the military, traveled (and more places to go still), finished grad school, married-and subsequently divorced, had a kid... Now all I need is to purchase my own home and my bucket list is done.

I just ordered food for pick up from my favorite Nicaraguan place and the conversation ended as such:

I've been wanting a little nose ring for the longest but I'm unsure whether I'll ever get one.
My favorite position to sleep is face down. If I have any socks on, they're coming off. Also, I don't snore (except if I'm drunk), but I drool like crazy.

The Muslim Moors of North Africa invaded the Iberian Penninsula in 711 and were removed in 1492 with the Reconquista (Reconquest) with the fall of Granada, ending Islamic rule in Iberia. With 781 years of occupation, there has to be North African blood (genes) in most Spaniards and Portuguese, if not all.
The island has practically all races. I remember a classmate of mine from primary school who was at least half Chinese. The interactions I described were mainly with people who have a stereotyped image of what Cubans look like, though they honestly didn't know any better.
People have told me I look American, Canadian, and Eastern European on separate occasions. I take a moment to kindly correct them and then they're shocked. They don't expect a blue-eyed female with very fair skin to be Cuban. You know what that means? I can totally be a double agent and everybody will eat it up.
This will be my first hurricane season in the southern United States.

I have a case of misheard lyrics for a lot of songs. One of the funniest ones that comes to mind is STP's Sex Type Thing. Instead of "I said you shouldn't have worn that dress, worn that dress", I heard "I said you shouldn't have the wrong address, wrong address". It cracks me up every time, and that's why I like reading lyrics every now and then.
