Fell, she/they, English, currently obsessed with DnD and other ttrpgs. I do art sometimes. I am the GM of two tabletop roleplays on this very site:
- Beyond Moonlight's Reach, a story of four young dragons growing up in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world, and using the Powered by the Apocalypse game Epyllion.
- Search for Tir na Og, a DnD 5e campaign set in the Planescape setting where a group of strangers from all across the multiverse come together to solve the mystery about what happened to the Celtic gods after they and their homelands were mysteriously spirited away.
I'll have to think about this for a moment. Currently torn between the Infiltrator and the Alchemist.
I did have an idea for a character using the Beast playbook, but then I did some actual research into the animal I wanted to use and found out the whole concept I had was based on something about said animal that has been since been proven false. I'm deeply saddened by this revelation but perhaps it was for the best.
Jub didn't even try to hide the mixture of annoyance and exhaustion in his features as he followed after the barbarian. However, he didn't bother saying anything as Brutrumukk had proven time and time again that once he put his mind to something, he was never easily swayed. Jub simply nodded as he followed Brutrumukk towards the door.
Shieldwing rolls a 7 as he's looking at Rudrick, asking "What can I learn from you?" His goal here is primarily to figure out why he's suddenly so different and on alert just because they're leaving the Snouthold. He strives to learn something from this encounter about how to be a leader or act like a proper dragon, so figuring out what has this more experienced leader so on edge is ideal for him.
His thought process is: "Sure, it's less safe out here than inside I'm sure, but it seems strange for this usually laid back and casual dragon to so closely resemble the moody Garrock. Surely there's more than that, right...?"
This is a tricky one for me, because I don't how best to communicate this simply through Shieldwing observing Rudrick's body language. I'll say that it seems that Rudrick is on edge 1) because he's technically in charge of Shieldwing right now and takes his duties of taking care of drakes very seriously and 2) he's really worried about Garrock for some reason. Shieldwing can perhaps attempt to ask him for specifics. He's definitely more likely to get straight answers from Rudrick than any other NPC the group has interacted with thus far.
But now that he's not getting anything himself, he's going to look to Rudrick instead and examine him a bit more closely. Would he be able to Study Rudrick as they go to try to get an answer to a question like "What kind of thing might have him so on edge? What does he seem to be focused on right now?"
Roll for Study Someone and ask from the questions listed under the move.
I imagine the two probably have a history of Skobe doing stuff that frustrates, annoys and otherwise gets Shieldwing angry given his seriousness and inability to take jokes in an effort to be taken seriously. When presented to him, Shieldwing cannot be angry at whatever big prank, joke or whatever else at his expense that Shieldwing is angry about and must instantly forgive Skobe~ xP
As a Trickster, Skobeloff probably already has several of those xP
Yeah, there's a few things he can try to do, but first he'd want to try to figure things out on his own. He can tell something is bothering Rudrick and tries to Survey to figure it out...but on a 6, I'm not sure he's getting much help there~
On a side note, I find it funny that I've rolled three moves so far: One of them was an 11 total (6+5)...and then BOTH of the others were not just a 6...but a 6 from rolling a 1 and a 5 xD
Shieldwing... sees trees of green and red roses too. And he thinks to himself "What a wonderful-" Kidding, but basically yeah. Nothing about the forest really stands out to him.
Also, remember that every missed roll gives you one point of experience.
"Name was Dawrie," Runa responded. "Older dragon, cream scales with brown splotches, pale blue eyes. Two horns, greenish frills on neck. Uses big words a lot. She served Rothscar as an envoy and was originally sent to us to negotiate land disputes. However, during her time with us, she seemed to grow fond of troll culture, and said that perhaps Rothscar has no right to move in on our territory. She seemed like such a quiet thing as first, but she has passion for her beliefs." She then smiles at Fellwing when the seer proclaims her desire to help. "Thank you, small dragon." She then frowns. "By the way, are you okay? You were lying on ground when I found you. You hurt at all?"
Coryn waves at Stargaze as she leaves, while Lazward merely grunts before returning to his fight against the Creeping Violet.
Stargaze will enter the lab just as the other dragons are starting to register Skobeloff's presence. Heliotrope pauses in her work to look over at the trickster, but merely nods at him before returning to her work. Fogdance however gives him her full attention. "Fellwing?" she says. "Oh yes, she left after Garrock when you... appeared suddenly."
Pleexem jumps slightly when Skobeloff reveals himself, and turns to look at him, first with surprise, then with what can only be described as mild annoyance. He doesn't say anything, however, and quickly looks back over to Maug, almost as if he's trying to pointedly ignore Skobeloff.
Rudrick nods, though he still seems worried. He begins leading Shieldwing in the direction he had motioned towards. He remains surprisingly silent for a good few minutes as he leads the red drake into the woods, and Shieldwing will notice that his usually relaxed demeanor has been replaced with tense, more alert attitude. In fact, it actually isn't dissimilar to how Garrock was when they were traversing Stargaze's island, albeit a lot less prickly.
The forest is fairly peaceful as they move through it. At first it seems a little quieter than one would expect, but as they move on, Shieldwing will start to hear the odd flutter of a bird or the buzz of an insect. It's like the forest has been in a state of stasis for some time, but is slowly beginning to wake up. Every sound causes Rudrick to become slightly more tense.
If Shieldwing wishes to, he can roll to Survey the Area. However, if there is another move he wishes to do in this moment, he can do that instead.
Brutrumukk would gift to Jub, and the gift would be that he violently subjugates Jub's old tribe and installs Jub as their leader
While he would appreciate the gesture, Jub really shouldn't be trusted with that level of responsibility.
Jub would try and scrounge up enough money to get a magic item for one of his comrades, since the nicest thing he's ever been given was the pixie dust from Gabriel. It probably wouldn't be the most flashy magic item, 'cause he likely wouldn't be able to afford that.
