Condemning an American country for cooperating with European countries is only going to turn everyone against you, not just Europeans.

I think Brazil just doesn't want more conflict erupting in the Americas because as it stands nobody is really taking any action in the American possessions of European powers. Though now Mexico is going to be escalating the war there which other American nations probably don't really want.

It's a logical decision on Mexico's part. Britain and France want/need somebody to take out the Dutch Antilles and Guyana, and Mexico happens to owe them a hilariously large debt.
