Poppy Flanagan
When classes were finished Poppy followed along with the other students to power training. She was pushed along in the flow, unable to see where they were going do to her height. Finally it opened up into a spacious, reinforced room. Never before had seen something like this. A number of chairs were set up before a stage in the center. Hopefully I can find somebody I know... It was already wracking enough not knowing what was going to happen. Poppy wasn't sure if she would be able to handle it on her own. Standing on her tippy toes she frantically scanned the crowd for a familiar face.
The first person she caught sight of was Amanda. She started off then stopped again. There has to be somebody other than her. Well there was Nikki, but it didn't offset her dislike enough. Where's Red or Theresa? Ethan would also do. That was rather slim picking. Then she caught sight of her roommate along with an woman in a wheelchair. This time she made her way over without any second thoughts.
In an effort to make sure she didn't lose sight of them she picked up the pace. When she arrived she took a moment to catch her breath and calm herself down. "Hey Theresa... mind if I join you." Her voice faltered a little. "I'm so nervous..." She looked towards the stage and then back. The outfit Adam was show casing didn't make her feel any better. Sure it looked like good protection, it was the fact that they needed to wear them. Getting tossed around, shot at, whatever those were meant to handle didn't seem like very much fun to her.
Vespera Spindel
This years courses were much harder than in years past. Not that she wasn't up the the challenge. After it was her choice to split pursue two different masters of science. One in anatomy, the other in physiology. Had she just choose one she could nearly had a doctorate. But it was equally important to study the mind as the body. That and she wasn't sure if sh wanted to take her education that far in any one department. As far as was concerned the difference would be negligible unless one was seeking employment. Considering that she wasn't there was no need for a fancy title. She could learn more on her own and be as well off, or perhaps better. Still there were many advantage to learning at the academy. Once she got to that point she could decide where she wanted to go from there.
Vespera showed up for power training already wearing her suit. It had been long since customized to her liking. It was jet black and was lacking the standard Kevlar pads. Instead it was covered small ceramic disks that overlapped like scales. Hidden beneath them on her elbows, knees, sides, finger and toe tips were small openings to accommodate her transformation. Parts of the material were designed to stretch as her limbs lengthened, and her body increased in size. Thanks to it's design the platelets would cover her almost entirely at all times without hindering mobility.
She stayed towards the outskirts of the crowd and unlike most students wasn't looking for anyone. There wasn't really anyone Vespera considered a friend, and if there was she still probably wouldn't care to seek them out. Get on with it already. The first day of power training was the most jumbled as the new students were just getting used to things. Hardly anyone was even dressed let alone ready to begin. Her senses were sifting through her surroundings for anything or anyone of interest while she waited. This was her time to observe, make note of others weaknesses.
Despite the dominant way she carried herself, Vespera knew that nobody in this room was invincible. Herself included. A normal person with the right resources and know how could take any one of them down, or even all of them. However unlikely that was, she as more than human could certainly find a way to dispatch anyone who stood against her. Just a matter of the right information in the right hands.
Karlie Davis
Most every subject was boring, Karlie chatted, slept, doodled, anything but paying attention. If homework was ever assigned she had a few outfits that she could use to make short work of it. The day drug on until finally the fun part arrived. Not a moment after the bell rung Karlie bolted from her seat and went straight to her locker. From it grabbed her suit and a duffle bag of clothes and accessories. Her suit was unlike any of the others. Since her power stemmed from her attire it was more of an undersuit. It was skin colored and make of a comfortable ablative material. In combination with a portable curtain there was no chance of anyone seeing anything they shouldn't. Today she decided to start off wearing a red race car driver jumpsuit complete with a helmet.
Then she took off at full throttle to the training room. She pulled up next to Amanda who had already found a new boy toy. Even with all the other conversations going on in the room she was easy to find. A close competition between her and Sylvia, whom she guessed would show her self soon enough. Audibly if not visually.
The only part of the conversation Karlie made out was something about meeting her butt buddy. That could only be the guy with his arm draped over her. Nikki was there too, and she wasn't prepared for the crude introduction. Karlie stood there a few moments longer without doing anything, she wanted to make sure she was seen before she made her entrance. Karlie took off her helmet and circled her head in an overly dramatized fashion. The way one might expect an attractive woman in a commercial to whip her hair. Then she relaxed her posture, walked up casually and sighed. "You know. I wish I actually had some sponsors... I could go for drink right now to loosen up." She put her hand on Amanda's other shoulder prominently displaying a Bud Light patch on her arm.
When Karlie lowered it she was grinning like an idiot. "Hey Manda, Nikki. Class was sooo boooorrring..." She trailed off then started up again. "So who's the stud you got there?" She leaned over for a moment to get closer look at him. He was pretty good looking, but she herself could never get with somebody so quickly. Even then it's better to be friends first, because once you break up you can (sometimes) go back. But if you were never anything before, what happens then? In any case she was still going to be supportive.
