Well, conveniently, I actually just finished my CS this moment. XD Name: Benjamin Lloyd Age: 18 Gender: Male Race: Human Weapon: Two metal tonfas, Artoriusand Lawnslot. Both are identical, visually, save perhaps a few differences in internal mechanism. In the traditionally held position, the longest part of the body aligning along the forearm, the forward facing post is actually a shotgun barrel; though standard shells are the usual ammunition, dust rounds can be loaded instead. The storage area expands along the spine of the weapon. The recoil is often used for propulsion when useful. The primary length of each tonfa actually has a blade running along it, resembling one half of a sword, to be specific. This is because both weapons are capable of combining into a large, long sword; Caledfwlch. The two weapons reconfigure in such a way as to create a long, straight two-handed sword with a straight crossguard. The shotgun barrels are reoriented as the crossguard, one pointing to the left and the other to the right, used to enhance the power behind his swings. Artorius and Lawnslot both have one other unique attribute; high capacity batteries built into their frame. Each battery continuously siphons a supply of Aura from Benjamin, building the energy up so long as they are, in some way, upon his person. This energy can be released with a button built in below the shotguns’ triggers, on the handle of the combined blade, or on the handle of the smaller tonfas. The release of this energy usually is used to power his Semblance, and must be replenished over time when discharged. Specialty: Benjamin is a highly adaptable fighter. He lacks dedicated defensive capabilities, but his weapons serve very well as augmentation to forearm blocks. The lightweight nature of his weapons, however, also means that he is a highly agile fighter. His preference is to move as quickly as possible, landing strikes when opportunities present themselves and evading blows (blocking if absolutely unavoidable). Use of both his Semblance and Caledfwlch is exceedingly rare, to the point that they have not yet been used during his career at Beacon. Both are abilities and options he keeps to himself, aces up the sleeve. Ultimately, his style permits him to act as the situation demands, though the drawback to the continuous siphoning of his Aura, as well as his lack of any dedicated defensive tools, is that his personal defenses are noticeably lower than others’. Semblance: Deinamig: Benjamin is capable of using Aura to fuel an individual section of his body to well beyond its usual limits. Fueling his legs, for example, will drastically increase both speed and power of his legs, and fueling his arms will do much the same. This can, theoretically, be applied to any section of his body. The Aura for this is usually provided by the resevoirs built up within his weapons, but that supply is not infinite. If a situation arises where he is unable to tap into it (or it runs out) he can directly fuel his Semblance with his present Aura. Personality: Benjamin is a friendly guy. He also, at first glance through his performance in school, nothing to write home about. Average or slightly above in all his classes, with the only oddities appearing once one takes a closer look. His homework assignments represent minimal effort, while all examination scores actually place him near the top of the grading scale. Between the two, depending on how the class is run, they average out to roughly average grades. In short, Benjamin doesn’t bother to do his homework until the last minute, if at all. He conforms to a decidedly nonstandard view of what is important, and what is not. Things he views as “busy work”, such as most homework assignments, are treated with at best casual disregard, while things he views as important (tests, examinations, practice, getting to know people) works at. His strange views actually are rooted in a single opinion; if it isn’t something he needs to do in order to do well in his life, it doesn’t really matter. People skills will be important, combat skills will be important, all of the knowledge he amasses will be important. So he takes his tests and exams seriously, but at the end of the day… Who’s going to care, once he leaves Beacon, whether or not his did his vocabulary flash cards? This practical viewpoint extends to many aspects of his life, but he will always make an effort to get to know people. His wit might be a little sarcastic at times, but anyone who he views as a friend will find that few will go to greater lengths for their friends. Aside from his practicality, which more than a few teachers might instead term “laziness”, Ben has one other notable quirk. He seldom fights at full capacity. He believes it is always best to have an ace or two tucked away up the sleeve, so that if a situation ever arises where he simply can’t handle it, or needs just a little more power… He has something to draw on. Color: Steel Gray Emblem: A single inverted sword set behind a shield emblazoned with a crown device. Appearance: Benjamin is a few inches short of six feet, making about average height for his gender. He has an athletic build, obviously necessary given his school, but he isn’t overly muscular. The fighting style he prefers requires nimble movements, mandating that he maintain both a reasonable muscle mass as well as his agility. A faint grin is his default expression, blue-gray eyes bright with life under slightly messy light brown hair. He wears the Beacon school uniform completely unmodified, though it isn’t at all uncommon to see him take the coat off and carry it around. When not attending class (and thus not required to wear his uniform), he tends to default to jeans paired with a black or gray long sleeved shirt. Light but durable boots are his footwear of choice, as his usual field attire simply adds some lightweight gray armor over his torso, and perhaps greaves to his shins. Artorius and Lawsnlot are carried at his belt, one on either side.

That's a very interesting semblance you have there. This feels too much like a post Sixsmith would make for my liking... ugh. No regrets though.

Very nice, Krayzikk! That said, I have three recommendations. The first is putting an extra space between each section, just so that they're even easier to differentiate from one another. Second, we have three other characters whose colors are shades of gray; in factor, steel gray and gunmetal gray are practically the same thing, so I'd recommend something else. The last is Ben's name, which doesn't seem to me to be evocative of either color or theme. Something about RWBY that makes it interesting is its entire convention of names. Sure, RWBY has a few ordinary names thrown in there (Nora, Blake), but if at all possible I urge you to reconsider. Since Deinamig means 'dynamic' in Welsh, for instance, you might find the Welsh words for colors and use one of them. Just an idea.

The formatting is easily fixed, I'll do it after I'm done typing this. And actually, the name's already fixed. Not surprised it wasn't obvious, because I didn't find out until I was writing the CS last night. XD "Lloyd" is actually derived from the Welsh "llwyd", meaning "gray". That was actually a significant portion of why I finally went with gray, because, well. I liked cerulean. But working "cerulean" into a name without making it sound ridiculous is unbelievably hard. XD

Oh, nice find! I guess you'll be fine as is. Just so you know, though, Cerulean is thought to have derived from the Latin word Caelum, which means 'sky'. Fewer things are more evocative of the color than that. You're accepted, and you can post your sheet in Characters, though you'll have to wait until Kaithas and Cirus post their sheets before you begin.

Awesome! I'll toy with a few name combinations, see if I find something I can make work for cerulean. I'll get things posted over in characters in the mean time.

Dear Lugubrious, Would this sound okay for a Weapon + Semblence idea? --- (I will be using X as a placeholder name of a character) Solomon Rule / Apophis Engine Solomon Rule is X's blade. It boasts a large, single-edged blade, and can be extended to drag targets towards X or push away targets from X. When X presses a trigger on the blade, a blast of Dust can be fired from the edge of the blade itself. When used against terrain, the Dust will bounce off of the surface and allow X to deal damage at extended ranges based on how hard he strikes the terrain (ie. the average range is 5 meters). Solomon Rule has the strange feature of being able to lift X high into the air whenever he jumps. The Apophis Engine passively allows X to retain stamina for longer periods of time, and whenever X dips a hand into the blood of Grimm (and other non-human species), X can utilize blood instead of Dust as long as he has enough of it. The more X hits a certain target, the harder his attacks become against the specific target due to the Engine's ability to recognize whatever X hits. If X hits or is hit by a target enough times, or completely overcharges his prosthetic hand with blood, he will be able to activate the Apophis Engine. For under a minute of its activation, Apophis Engine allows X to move much faster than his usual movements. His sword attacks still deals the same amount of damage, and X is coated under a layer of dark Dust that partially resembles the shape of a Grimm. While the Apophis Engine is activated, X has less control over what he does, but slowly gains control as he continue to train himself. X lacks far range and fast speed, but he has a good balance of power, defense, and strategy. His issue of speed is temporarily resolved when the Apophis Engine is activated, but his range always remains to be his biggest problem. The Apophis Engine also doesn't modify anything else other than his speed and durability, making him less than ideal for being a glass cannon. Whatever bullets or projectiles X manages to block are all related to his natural reflex of prediction, and it is not guaranteed that he will be able to defeat a target unless he gives himself enough time to analyze a target first.

I'm currently going with blood because my character's name is "Sangue." I may end up going for a different source of power if I change his theme, though.

I don't see why the weapon has the ability to make him jump higher (everyone can jump higher than normal anyway) but other than that I guess it's okay. Though if you still want to do things that haven't been done before, as I believe you earlier expressed, you might consider that our roster ratio is more than 2:1 male to female.

The weapon is floaty in general, so he falls slower. There are tiny momentum boosters that can let him jump higher, but only if he has the sword equipped. Interesting. I might make him a female, then.

For the record is my memory serves right "Sangue" is mandarin, while it can be translated as "Bloody" I believe other interpretations include "Hopeful" and "Point of Interest"

Wish I had something to add, but the only odd language I know is Dutch, and it does not really lend itself well to heroic names. Anyway. @LokiLeo789 The Marcus vs Geni post has been touched up and is available for copy pasta here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RFOsF33sHYDFgYbFMjPcLnRpwcjQyUqYhq4L_RWX3n8/edit?usp=sharing CHANGELOG: - Fixed spelling and grammar issues - Fixed the spacing - Added name tags to identify who wrote what - @Forsythe@SirBeowulf Added Marcus' mental commentary on Diamond and Aurellius fights. - Fixed random punctuation showing up. Now to catch up to the IC again.

He found a relatively empty table behind the shield wielding man who'd lost to the somberly colored girl in the final match before Goodwitch's dismissal.

For the record regardless of what order they were posted each fight took place in the order of the list Lug posted earlier. That means that Sapphire and Oswald's fight while it was posted last actually took place first.
