Physical Description:
Astrid is tiny, around 4'9". That is the one thing that is said about her the most. Skinny and short it's very easy for her to be missed in a large crowd. When she is not surrounded by 'giants,' as she calls everyone at a normal height, she tends to attract attention. Her hair is bright red, and she loves to keep it down, hanging to around mid-back. The intensity of the color brings out the paleness of her skin, making her seem almost paper white. The only alteration to her pale skin is a series of light freckles on either side of her petite nose. Her face is rather pretty with sharp eyebrows over large sky-blue eyes. Her eyes are always full of curiosity.
As for her non-immediate physical appearances Astrid has a series of piercings. The regular earlobe piercings in addition to three more on the left side, reaching up to the top of her ear. On her belly button she has a piercing of a small heart. Her ears are slightly pointed at the end, which in addition to her size gave her the nickname the elf.
Astrid's attire mostly consists of t-shirts and jeans. She doesn't care much for dresses or shorts, especially not short shorts. Her favorite color of all time is blue. When it gets cold she loves wearing hoodies that are way too big for her small size. She thinks it brings out for tiny size, making her look cuter.
Mutations: Astrid is like a battery. The electricity that she has stored inside of her she can manipulate in many ways. Unfortunately she can't create electricity and needs to constantly charge herself as a part of her daily diet. Without electricity in her system, her heart begins to fail, and she would quickly die. On the other hand, if she gets overcharged she gets a sort of high. Some of the examples of her using her power include shooting electricity, shocking people, and recharging objects.
Personality: Astrid's pretty socially awkward from all her time away from normal people. She tries to cover this up all the time, usually with hostility. When it comes to a fight, shes the first to swing a fist. It would be a pretty good bet to say she probably started it too. Just when talking to her, she usually comes off as angry or confused.
Background: Growing up, Astrid didn't get to live a normal life. She doesn't know if she was born there, but from her earliest memory Astrid had always lived in The Lab. The Lab was some kind of scientific research center that had been running tests on her for her whole life. It was on rare occasions that she saw another human being, usually meaning something bad. Another test.
Four years ago she finally managed to escape when her power manifested. Having absolutely no idea how she did it, all the power in the facility went out. Even the backup generators that where supposed to automatically click on in an emergency where dead. Astrid made quick work of the situation and escaped into the real world. For quite a while she lived between homes. People tried to take pity on the tiny girl, but she was always so hostile in return that she immediately turned them off. Eventually she made her way to the Ashford Institute for the Gifted. Hopefully she wouldn't have to run away from this place too.
