He looked up, sort of surprised. He hadn't expected Flan to agree so easily.

"Right, just gimme a sec." He said, opening up his inventory.

He took out a health pot and drank it, his health shooting back up a little. He unequipped his lance and pulled out another one instead. This one was a mix between a full length cavalry lance and his shorter combat lance. It wasn't as long as a cavalry lance but the handle was considerably extended, for riding with a passenger.

Up at the colossus end, he saw the silver streaker guy going after one of the colossus' eyes. There weren't any other obvious weaknesses so that was where they were going too.

"You better jump on," He said, "And equip something sharp. We're going straight for the eyes.

The monster had decided to retaliate by spreading a poison gas all along its body. Static began to have trouble breathing, and her health bar began to slowly drain. Nevertheless, she continued her attack, not willing to shrink away just because of a little bit of damage. Besides, she was a berserker; she was more than capable of enduring some damage. A moment later, Static felt a small wave of something hit her, and her health bar immediately began to rise by a small amount. Her health was also depleting more slowly now, but Static was too busy with the assault to notice.

What she did notice, however, was the silver man yelling at her to go for the neck. Static immediately recognized him as the same one that have saved her from getting crushed from that Dissolution a while back. However, there was no time to dwell on that. Instead, Static ran up to the Dissolution's neck and swung her blade directly at its neck using her Smash Slash attack.

Vargas nodded, "Got it Silver!" he called and took a step further back on the rooftops taking a moment to summon his Eldritch Beast. Then he plunged back into the fray with his companion. First he launched a bolt of magic at the giant creature's knee then as his Hellbolt came of cooldown he tossed that and the creatures foot, tethering it to the ground. The twisted mage that was his companion practically vomited a stream of lava at the monster's other foot.

The lava splashed all over the foot and onto the ground, if the monster tried taking any steps onto nearby ground it would either land on more lava, have its leg slammed forcibly back into the ground, or most likely both. Hopefully no one was stupid enough to be close enough to the Dissolution's feet to get hit by the lava. Vargas grinned, it looked like everything was going well, then he coughed suddenly and glanced worriedly at his HP bar. It was rapidly dropping, he quickly determined that the gas was rising to his level, a look at his summon revealed that its HP were quickly dwindling even faster than hsi, it was already at nearly 20%, it would only have time for one more spell before it expired. Vargas himself was already backing away as fast as he could, not like he could do much until his CDs were up again.

Eclipse Princess

"Hmmm..." Eclipse Princess crossed her arms under her breasts and tilted her head as she considered the black girl's, Moon Rider was her name, statement. "Not that I want to disappoint you or anything" Princess said when she faced Moon Rider again "but this place you want to defend is as good as dead if the fight goes on like this."

Before Moon Rider could give her an answer, Princess pointed to the Dissolution's health bar "Despite the amount of damage it's taking the health keeps regenerating faster and faster. There's something wrong with that one and I think that we can't take it down before we figure what it is."

"Still, I can help you, since this place looks important to you, though I'd like to ask a favor too" Princess said, uncrossing her arms and balling her right hand in a fist, before Rider's face "I want you to tell me where I can find the Black King. I have been waiting for an opportunity to talk with him for some time and now it seems that I'll be able to."

Then, Princess extended her to Rider before asking "Do we have an agreement?" If Rider would take Princess' hand, she would notice that Eclipse Princess' handshake is firm and business-like, just like Princess behavior seems to be.

As the Dissolution locked eyes with Unrelenting Jukebox and caused the buildings around it to explode in dust and debris he could barely think. The dust blurred his vision and choked his breath and Jukebox quickly lost his composure as he swore he could feel the behemoth's arm ripping through the air at him.

As the creature's arm descended on him Jukebox's mind was running at a million miles as second, trying to reassure himself about his impending doom IcanrespawnIcanrespawnIcanrespawn- Goddammit I don't want that EXP penalty!

As he futilely covered his head with his arms, as if it would somehow protect him, Nies threw herself at Jukebox. Sprawling to the ground Jukebox feared that Nies' efforts would be in vain due to the Dissolution's sheer size. Jukebox braces himself... and the giant blow did not come. Unable to see through the dust Jukebox stumbled for a bit before bracing himself on a wall. Hearing the roar Jukebox looked up and beyond the settling dust her saw the poison mist descend over the creature, healing it.

I-it can regenerate?! Okay, my dinky little guns and knife won't even leave a scratch on it, so ramming it with a car if probably still my best bet... As he thought this, Nies' healing spell went off, putting Jukebox back up to 90% health. "Thanks Nies! I'm going to get your car to hit it with now!"

Without waiting for a response Jukebox ran to where Nies previously indicated she had parked. Well she didn't kill herself with this, so I guess she did alright! wrenching open the door, Jukebox fired up the engine and drove like a bat out of hell back towards the battle, only now wondering if this will actually do any significant damage. Reaching what looked like a straight shot to the monster Jukebox just sat there, knuckles white gripping the wheel.

“How the hell am I going to do this? If I’m in this I’ll blow up and if it doesn’t the monster will just have a stubbed toe!” smashing his hand on the dashboard he for the thousandth time in his DGO experience cursed the game for giving him a music player instead of an actual ability.

Rubbing his temples Jukebox grabbed a grenade and put it in the cup holder, all the while wishing he had the Level 6 wire ability. “I think this might be the third worst idea I’ve had in this game...”

With that Jukebox took out the junk motorbike handlebars he kept since the Green King sliced his bike out from under him, wedged down the accelerator and aimed his new big bullet in the general direction of the beast. When he felt he was close enough Jukebox pulled the pin on the grenade and jumped out the driver side door, his health dropping to 75% as he hit the ground. Shakily getting up he watches as the car makes a beeline for the Dissolution, smashing into its leg before exploding into a massive green firework and a car door shooting through the air like a demented Frisbee.
Jukebox slowly backed away muttering "Please catch on fire" over and over to himself.

Hyde nodded as the NPCs told him that the Black King was in her throne room. The King was a Queen? He was a she? Hyde pondered momentarily why she would remain a King, but put the thought out his mind a few moments later. The NPC guild members pointed him in the direction of the throne room, and Hyde was swiftly on his way.

As he traipsed through the foreign city, he wondered why he had been picked to undertake his quest. Or was it just random? Was it just a case of him being in the right place at the right time? Nonetheless, Hyde decided that whatever the reason was, he'd accepted it, and it was now his responsibility to complete the quest.

Upon arriving at the throne room, he wasn't aware he was walking right into the middle of a battle between two other players. Hyde wasn't sure what to do. He ducked away, looking to avoid confrontation and waited for the battle to be over, unless one of the others had spotted him.

Nies had absolutely no idea what she was meant to do, as Juke box ran off to get the car, oh man, the Kings gonna take away my driving previliges, I just know it. Two cars wrecked in less then two days she thought, as she watched Juke box run off: he attention turned back to the battle, and those still in it.

She decided that there was no way she was getting close to the beast to do damage-not with the dinky little dagger that she had. She might as well try and cut ice with her finger. She swallowed, knowing she should continue with her healing, stepping closer to some of the others fighting the beast, continually using her spells as she could, sometimes using the one that worked on only one person, each time she counted out the time in her head, so she could be ready to fling another spell about.

As Jukebox came barreling down the street in the car, Nies thought dismayed, oh, he's going to do it. she watched as jukebox jumped out the car, which still sped down towards the dissolution, and she jumped out of its way, rolling and leaping up lest the beast take advantage of her vulnerability, watching it and what would happen next

Corpse Collector gave Flan a deathly glare, muttering, “You weren’t supposed to know my little trick,” under her breath. Indeed, the fact that her gun could fire Dissolutions NPCs as bullets was never intended to be shared with other Players. Of course, her thoughts contrasted with her earlier actions of going on a trigger happy spree. But the past was the past and she decided now that things were going to go her way.

As Rocket Lancer handed a spare lance over to Flan, the Corpse Collector grinned evilly. Well, the best way to get rid of the evidence was blowing a hole through them, right? Taking a gun out, she twirled it once before aiming it at the back of Flan’s head. She didn’t even hesitate to pull the trigger, firing out rapidly as her grin increased.

“Heh, bye, bye Cream Puff! See you in hell where the sharks don’t bite and the lava ain’t cool-the fuck?” grumbled Corpse Collector, who continued pulling on the trigger; alas, nothing happened. “Goddamnit…goddamnit! Every time, every fucking time…!”

But unbeknownst to the strange Player, her actions did indeed yield an effect and result. It just wasn’t what she was expecting for the outcome. That desired result manifested itself near Moon Rider’s group, forming a still bullet in midair before it was suddenly launched forward.

Well then there’s no need to make such promises given that the Black King is standing before you,” Moon Rider said, placing her weapon away and moving to shake the Eclipse Princess’ hand. She immediately retched it back when the sound of a bullet making impact was heard. The blow struck Newt directly in the back of the head, killing her on the spot and forcing her to log out.

Blinking, Moon Rider had her beam saber at Eclipse Princess’ throat in a heartbeat. Clearly she thought this new Player was responsible and would so kill her before any more ambushes could be made. However, the roar of the mighty Dissolution in the background gave her pause once again and she backed away ever so slightly.

“Explain what you just did. Now,” she said, with an ice to her voice that could freeze most Avatars. The sounds of battle were drowned out as Moon Rider stared through Eclipse Princess. One wrong word, and the Black King would show this girl why it was most unwise in attacking her kingdom.

The Dissolution nearby hissed and howled, wrecking apart even more buildings and causing them to tumble with the hopes of crushing the players. Even as it did so, a certain individual took heavy notice of the rampage. They narrowed their eyes before fading into the shadows. Well then. Looks like the Ebony Strykers were in need of a hero.

"Hmm... is that so?" Eclipse Princess had an amused smirk carved on her face when she heard Moon Rider's claim to be the Black King "Not that I'm trying to sound rude, but I expected the Black King to be someone more... imposing, I guess." she said, explaining the reason for her surprise.

Nevertheless, her amusement was turned into disgust and her smirk into a scowl once Moon Rider put her under the aim of her blade, for a thing that Eclipse Princess haven't taken part into. "You are taking me for a coward that would use this kind of misdirection just to get an easy kill? Don't be a fool..." Princess said as she took a step closer to Moon Rider, despite the fact that the blade of the energy saber was almost scraping against her shoulder "I may cling to the shadows, but the only weapons I have are this sword and my own body. Mine is not the path of the cowardly killer."

Meanwhile the gigantic dissoluton scontinued to raze the Black City, so Eclipse Princess spared the time to glance at it one last time bofere turning to Moon Rider "Now, will yo tust me, so that we can face that thing together, or... are you going to let you city be razed, Your Majesty?"

"Ah ha ha! I'll tear you apart... Like mermaids..."

Those were Arms Slave's last words before he, Mightnight Soloist, and Agza the Amazing all collided to the floor. Arms Slave was dead upon impact. The others weren't looking too good either; Azga was the second one to hit the floor, and unless Midnight Soloist had some move to soften the impact, she was going to take as much harm as everyone else was. But assuming they survive, the both would be rewarded with precious EXP: For Azga, she would earn 150 EXP, and for Midnight Soloist, she would gain 225, as she was one level lower then Arms Slave. But if they could not survive the fall, they would not only lose the EXP gained from killing Arms Slave, but 25% of their current EXP. If any at all.

Arms Slave himself lost a good chunk. He had been saving up to reach level 4, but alas, now he's been set back a week. Not that this was particularly unusual for him: Going outlaw often ends in such ways, and he was once level 4 until he failed to survive a particularly tough fight. At least he couldn't get any lower then three. Picking himself up from the floor Arms Slave noticed that he was in the Red City; he never did stop by the Black Sanctuary prior to showing up. Sighing, Arms Slave called up his friends within the Scarlet Harleys to give him a ride back to the Black City.

"Also I need that mermaid picture. Yeah, print that out would ya? I want to freak out someone..."

"Gah!" Dark Wrath pulled back her hand as White Sun slashed it. She had managed to avoid her sword swing, but the Mirror's edge created a second stab that impaled her arm. Fortunately without a blade Dark Wrath was able to pull her hand back, but she lost a bit of health for taking the blow. But she was ready for the White Sun's charge, and so she used her staff to try to trip her. But the warrior was faster to the point then the necromancer was, hopping away from the strike and swing at Dark Wraith again. Instead of trying to block Dark Wraith chose to dodge, doing so by rolling forward, down the hill, and into her Miasma.

White Sun turned around to see her vanish into the thick green smoke, but she knew that Dark Wraith intended to move White Sun would stay inside to fight her. But the Miasma was only so big, and even on a hill White Sun had full mobility. Getting into her ready stance, White Sun dashed through the Miasma, slashing every step of the way. She never stayed inside for longer then a second and she was moving too fast for Dark Wraith to pin her Dark Hand on her. White Sun dashed in and out, slashing with impunity, knowing that Dark Wraith couldn't keep up with her speed. Even if White Sun took some hits from the Miasma, it was only a matter of time before she hits her mark, and once she does, Dark Wraith would have no where to run.

But Dark Wraith didn't intend to run. She came to fight White Sun, and that's what she's going to do.

Knowing that White Sun was just going to try to hit-and-run, Dark Wraith needed to devise a way to stop her from running. Staying low to the ground, Dark Wraith then took her cowl off, which in truth was actually a scarf. A decorative thing, but for the purpose she needed it for it'll have to do. Tying the scarf so that she could get a loop through it, Dark wraith waited for White Sun to charge through the miasma before lassoing the scarf around one of her feet. This caused White Sun to stumble in the middle of the miasma, where Dark Wraith went on a full offensive. The moemnt White Sun got onto the ground, Dark Wraith picked up her staff and used it to help put White Sun into a staff-assisted full-nelson, right in the Miasma. While at the same time Dark Wraith channeling the Dark Hand through her staff, sapping White Sun of her health while she remained in the cloud. Within a minute, White Sun would be defeated.

"Hah! So maybe you got some bite after all! Guess it's time to stop playing around."

Where it anyone else Dark Wraith's attack would mean defeat. But White Sun still had her avatar abilities to rely on, and thus she activated one: Suddenly her body vanished and was high above the Miasma. Dark Wraith looked up and Saw White Sun right above her, and she was certain the White King knew this as well. She had both her weapons drawn and used an Icarus Attack, slamming into the ground with enough force to knock Dark Wraith down the hill, out and away from the Miasma. She slammed into a rock and lost a lot of health, and it didn't look any better when she tried to get up only to feel a blade pierce her shoulder.

Dark Wraith screamed in pain, but White Sun looked unshaped. Her health was in the yellow, but Dark Wraith was already in the red. If White Sun slashes her blade, it would kill Dark Wraith. "Tch... What are you waiting for?" Looking sternly at White Sun, Dark Wraith had nothing but contempt for her. She has no idea what her problem with Yoshino was, only that she needed to leave her alone. This alliance may benefit their factions, but that didn't mean Yoshino approved of their interaction.

"You've won. You and I both know this was going to happen."

"Come on now Yoshino-chan, liven up some! You almost had me there. If you actually had some backup that might have killed me. But yes, I won. You know for someone working as the brains of the Black King, I had thought you'd be smarter then this. Maybe set up some snipers off in the distance, or at least make some zombies and have them sneak around. But you must be reeeeeaaaly stupid if you actually though you could take me on alone."

This struck a nerve to Dark Wraith. Was this how White Sun was going to talk to Yoshino? Insult and belittle her upon defeat, as if she wasn't already trying her best? Dark Wraith would admit she could have won if she didn't fight fairly. She could have easidly alterred the system to survive more damage, make her own attacks do more harm. But she wanted to face White Sun in person and see how she was like. She was a bitch.

"Is that what you think? Is that what I am to you... Onee-chan?"

"Fire!"

As the brave players of the Black City tried to whittle down the health of the massive level 5 dissolution, a hail of explosions impacted it's backside. It turned, and those with the vantage point could see a crew of gunners and mages. They wasted no time firing a second volley into the face of the beast, causing it to stagger. And more importantly, bring it between two buildings were more players jumped down on top of it; Warriors and Rogues who could cause massive amounts of damage quickly, with healers not to far away to help alleviate the damage done to it. Suddenly the small band of players were met with many, many more, almost two-hundred players in all. They had a variety of names, not all of them thematically appropriate for a guild like the Ebon Strykers. Many were also fairly low levels, with more then half only level 1 or 2, a good third level three, and the rest a mix of level 5s. And about four who were level 9.

They combined their collective power to do as much harm to the dissolution as they could, hitting it with not just weapons, but also crowd-controlling moves. The ground beneath the dissolution became both unstable and sticky; it would be almost impossible for it to move out from it's spot. It also burst into flames at random locations in it's body, including the area of impact where Jukebox totaled a car. But even with their combined might, they were just barely able to negate the massive dissolution's regeneration properties. And with so many players attacking it, the Dissolution started to flail about wildly, slamming it's body and arms into buildings in an effort to slay players, some which were successful. Time was of the essence.

To most of the players, they would receive a buff: Empowerment and Sanctuary. The Sanctuary would allow the players a bit more resilience against the monster's attack, and it would last as long as they stayed near a healer. Empowerment was a trickier buff however: The players would need to be carefully considerate as their next attack would be twice as powerful, but it'd only work once. And as more players were getting killed by the Dissolution's wild attacks, they needed to act fast before it's regeneration would heal back the damage being done to it.

"Oh come on!" The Silver Streaker yelled.

The giant was still taking hardly any damage, despite taking an entire car to the leg. The Streaker's own shot had dealt some damage, but it wasn't enough to blind the eye. He was still on the eye, and he began furiously beating it with his legs, determined to bring the giant's vision down. The giant's eyelid was closed, however, making his assault pointless. Nevertheless, the Silver Streaker continued beating on it in hopes of at least diverting the giant's attention. Perhaps he could attract its attacks for a little while.

"Fire!"

A sudden shout made the Streaker's head whip around to see a volley of various projectiles sailing towards him. He wasted no time in jumping onto a nearby rooftop as the scene was flooded by players of various classes and appearances, all in some way fighting the large dissolution. Even on the rooftop he was jumping onto, several melee players jumped onto the monster from there and started hacking away. As the Streaker landed, he was healed by several sources and various buffs appeared.

"Wow." The Streaker said, studying the buff effects.

Sanctuary for resilience and empowerment for damage. The Streaker was mostly a solo player with looks shunned by society, so he usually never received buffs. This was the first time he'd been buffed, and he was quite moved.

"I don't know who you guys are, but thanks!" He yelled.

On closer inspection, empowerment would only last for 1 attack. This brought an instant quandary as the Streaker decided what attack to use.

Shining uppercut? Glorious as that may be, I don't have a clear place to put it. He thought as the battle raged. Should I go for another kick?

Tim stared up at the dissolution as he wondered. Its eye was open now, likely because it needed both eyes to track all of the attackers. As Tim mulled over all of his martial arts techniques, he stood there in a thinking pose, wondering what to do. The Streaker suddenly relaxed, before snapping up with a sudden exclamation.

"Screw it!" He yelled.

Before he could make up his mind, Tim abandoned his thoughts and began sprinting across the rooftop, tensing his legs before he got to the edge. The Streaker simultaneously jumped and used silver dash to rocket skywards.

If I can't make up my mind, I'll just let my body do its thing. He thought.

It seemed that he'd launched himself towards the giant's face. If he thought about it, Tim would realise that he was a little pissed that his attack did hardly anything, and he found himself drawing his arm back in preparation for the strike. Tim hadn't really made a conscious decision to perform a flying punch, but it seemed appropriate. He opened his mouth instinctively, perhaps to give his improvised move a name, but all that came out was a defiant battlecry.

"HAAAAAAAAAA!" He yelled.

The Streaker's body drove Tim to jump, and the Streaker's arm drove the fist home, straight into the giant's eye.

Vargas turned in surprise as a swarm of players helped attacking the dissolution. Finally some help, and with it came some buffs, Vargas noted. One his attack would have increased strength? Good thing he had his mage out already, at a curt mental command the mage nodded and used Demon's gift forming into a fearsome orb of flame and dark energy. As the demon's life force vanished it left behind a glowing orange orb. Grinning Vargas merged the two together and hurled them at the dissolution's chest.

That should leave a mark, he thought confidently. However his thought was soon cut off as one of the beast's wild attacks slammed into the building he was on rocking its foundations and causing it to begin to fall. Panicking Vargas sprinted to the edge of the building and leapt off hoping to make it to another one. His fingers fell just short of the roof, luckily he caught onto a window several feet below it and saved himself from death to falling damage. Clambering up he entered the building and looked through one of the windows at the result of the player's combined assault on the beast.

Nies just felt so freaking helpless, and she realized if she was going to be an effective player as well as team mate, she was going to have to step up her game, and train some weapon as well. She had her dagger, but that was laughable compared to the size of the dissolution and its power. But...she could be of some use, couldn't she? She was healing, but still...

She could be a distraction, right? Her car wasn't here yet, and...maybe she could help turn the tide, just a little bit? She bit her lip, but she knew sh and couldn't just stand here and do nothing other then heal. So nies became to run, taking out her pathetic little dagger, she let out what could be thought of as a war cry. When really she was just trying to attract the monsters attention. She didn't think 'hey ugly' would do it. So she just made a lot of noise, praying she wasn't doing the wrong thing.

If she could distract it, someone might have a chance at really doing some damage to it, and that bad to be worth it, right? Shoving her doubts aside, she waved her arms, and bellowed some more

“You know, it’s most unwise to call someone less intimidating when they have a blade at your throat,” Moon Rider with equal dryness. Even so, the Black King deactivated her weapon as she listened to Eclipse Princess go on. Alright, so maybe this Player didn’t fancy as the cheap and conniving type. Still, one could never be too careful in DGO.

“Until we defeat the imminent threat, consider us comrades at arms,” Moon Rider said. No sooner did she turn away though then she saw the massive Dissolution being attacked upon at all sides. For a moment, Moon Rider stared in astonishment before a smirk creased onto her features. Well then. She would have to personally thank Dark Wrath later.

Indeed, it seemed that whatever trouble the other Players had been having so far was now being swiftly taken cared of as buffs were distributed all around. Overwhelmed by the increase in power outage, along with sheer numbers alone, it wasn’t long before the Level 5 Dissolution collapsed in defeat, its body dispersing into EXP crystals before it could cause yet more damage to the Black District.

Further away in Faded City, both the Red King and Green King felt the impact of the monster’s slaying. Verdant Grin did just that, grinning cheekily. Well, well, looked like Moon Rider was just as tenacious as ever. His kingly companion on the other hand merely took another sip of his drink, wondering if Erika’s Avatar was alright.

Eclipse Princess

"Hmph!" Eclipse Princess scoffed as soon as the giant dissolution was felled by the combined assault of the many players "If that was all that was required to bring that beast down, what was the point of building an enemy like this in the first place?" she complained about the anticlimatic conclusion of the battle. Nevertheless, she grabbed her fair share of the EXP crystals, before turning to Moon Rider "This is where I bid you farewell. I'm still not convinced that you are the one I want to follow, but I'm sure that the chance for us to meet again shall come soon enough." With that said, Eclipse Princess shook Moon Rider's hand again and then, walked away from the broken battleground, to find a safe place to log out of the game for the tme being.

Eris Valkeyr

On the other side of the virtual/real boundary, Eris Valkeyr, woke up from her digital trance and noticed the lack of light coming from the window of her lone dormitory, before twisting her body to glance at the clock set by her bedside "Is it this late already?" she said as propped herself off of her bed.

Minutes later...

"A number 34 for table 03!" A waitress at the fast food place that Eris went to get something to eat said as she placed Eris' order over a stack of similar ones and went about to tend to her other businesses.

Just as the older woman went away, Eris began to tap her fingers idly on the tabletop, witing for her order to arrive while thinkering with her homework, which even now stood before her.

"Moon Rider..."

Walking towards the Black King was Dark Wraith. Her health was back at max and she was no longer an outlaw. Her level was still the same as before, so she had not been slain by the White King. However she was alone, though she had two dead thralls escorting her. "I apologize for my tardiness. I had a... Previous engagement." Looking around Dark Wraith took note of the damage done to the city. She sighed as she calculated what the cost of material and labor would be. The Black City still stood, but she would have to make sure something like this doesn't happen again.

Meanwhile everyone else enjoyed calculating their EXP. Many of the reinforcements reached their next level, causing celebration around the Black City. Everyone who arrived came under different banners; most of them personalized emblems, but some actually came from the other guilds, a few associated with groups that did not have a well known reputation. One symbol in particular was found among different vehicle and factions: It was a black circle with various white lines dashed through it. The mark of a Sweeper. There was no particular group with this emblem, rather there was at least one on each of the various groups here. For those who bother looking into it the conclusion was simple: The ones gathered here are all Sweepers.

Dark Wraith figured it was time to make that much clear. Bowing her head towards Moon Rider Dark Wraith snapped her fingers, making her two dead thrall pick her up as if they wanted to elevate her higher. "If you do not mind, Moon Rider, it's time that I did my part." As she stood where she was someone used an avatar ability to make the dead thralls grow, allowing Dark Wraith to be elevated even higher. Another used an ability to create an astral projection of Dark Wraith herself, allowing her voices to be spread across the black city.

"Welcome to the Black City. I am Dark Wraith, Moon Rider's second-in-command. I assure you that the recent battle with the level 5 Dissolution was not intended: There are still those out there who seek to crush the Ebon Strykers in their infancy. Outlaws who have besmirched the meaning of a Black Guild, and our colored rivals. They remember the reign we once had and fear our power, rightfully so. And that is not just because we are led by Moon Rider. Because we will bring upon a new age for the Ebon Strykers. An age of discovery. Of growth, both in power and in character. And more importantly, an age of cooperation. Because those of you gathered here today are not merely players of Deep Ground. You, who shall be all that is good in this world, who shall defeat all evil in this world. Today we will bring out from the darkness the glory of a guild in the past, and remove the blight upon these lands! So let me say this again... Welcome to the Black City, Sweepers."

That following speech, the Ebon Strykers were joined by 300+ players. Many were independent players, some came from guilds, but if Moon Rider's speech was any indication, they were all Sweepers. Dark Wraith also made the announcement that they were in an alliance with the White Guild and must refrain from interfering with them. However, just because a majority of the Sweepers have joined the Black Guild, doesn't mean that they are no longer Sweepers; they are still expected to fulfill their duties even if they must hunt down their fellow Ebon Strykers. Of course, whether or not they'd ever get a target who is an Ebon Stryker... It's unlikely.

There was another thing: A quest. One that extended not only to the Sweepers but everyone in the Ebon Strykers: They were to hunt down the player known as the Corpse Collector. This was mostly on behalf of the Ivory Masks, but Dark Wraith figured that sooner or later the rogue player would attack them. Not much information on the Corpse Collector was given beyond her assumed class (Rogue) and recent appearance (Blond woman who dual wields gun). It is said however that her username is often unseen, and many believe she may be a hacker. They have no proof of this of course, and the ones who say it tend to be strong players who may have had their prides wounded, but still the players were told to be careful. Whoever the Corpse Collector was, she wasn't an ordinary player. "Show no mercy, for she'll give you none."

As the level 5 Dissolution disintegrated into gems Unrelenting Jukebox crumpled to the ground glad that this particular ordeal was handled, even if he didn’t get much EXP. Lying on the ground Jukebox listened to the hustle and bustle of everyone scrambling around. Getting to his feet he went over to the body and found the fire axe he threw earlier and put it in his inventory. Cracking his neck Jukebox looked around for a vehicle No point in sticking around, don’t want to be seen as ‘intruding’ or something. I wonder if Bel is online.

Unable to find a car in the vicinity he wandered around until Dark Wraith made herself known and announced that an army of sweepers would make up the bulk of the new Black Guild. With a tired look on his face Jukebox left the area, finding nothing but wrecks of cars. As he neared the outskirts of Black City he found a decent looking bike that an outlaw had just rolled up on. This guy smiled as he saw Jukebox walking towards him and aimed his gun at Jukebox. Before the outlaw could do anything Jukebox jump kicked him off the bike and stole it

“Sorry~♪! I don’t really care enough to play with you~♪” riding off into the distance Jukebox ducked as he heard the outlaw curse and shoot at his retreating figure. Realising he was heading the wrong way to get to Blue City, Jukebox skidded and aimed the bike to race through the centre of Black City.

Almost running over the poor outlaw he hijacked he shot though the black streets and Soundtack of Life roared to life.

As he approached the area where the Dissolution was defeated the song softly echoed over the noise of people Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes...
The few Green Guild members still in the area recognised this scenario and quickly go off the road as Jukebox came tearing around the corner just as the song hit its peak When the night is over Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone gone gone. and within seconds Jukebox was out of the area and out of the city, making a beeline for Blue City, hoping to meet Bel.

Moon Rider watched as Eclipse Princess turned away from her and voiced her half-measured resolve to join. That was fine by the Black King because her Guild had no room for those with fluttering mentalities. Either you fought with her or against her. That taken care of, Moon Rider traveled alone in what was left of her city before eventually meeting up with Dark Wraith again.

Before she could stop it, a small smile made its way to Moon Rider’s expression. So the Level 5 Player had kept their promise after all. And the fact that they stood before her alive and well was proof enough that her battle with the White King did not end in disaster. How grateful she was to have such a strong Avatar by her side.

“It’s not a problem,” the Black King replied with her Deputy voiced worries over her late arrival. “For now we have more delicate problems to handle such as rebuilding the District and keeping our newly gathered recruits in line.”

Dark Wraith must have read her mind because she put then began to broadcast a message to the all of the Ebony Strkyers. Moon Rider watched with crossed arms, impressed at her Deputy’s clear ability to lead and inspire. When she was finished, the Black King waved the other Player closer to her, her smile now being replaced with her normal stoic frown.

“I understand that your battle with White Sun must have taken its toll on you. However, we shouldn’t discuss such details out in the public. Meet my client in her dorm in one hour. I trust that you will able to find your way to the Student President’s dorming quarters?”

Once Dark Wraith had answered, Moon Rider nodded before summoning her Player Interface. With a few button clicks, she had logged out and entered night time back in the real world. Further away one other Player was logging out as well. Corpse Collector gave one last bored glance to those left behind, apparently glitched and freezing up before masking her presence once more.

Back in the wide expanses of DGO, yet more encounters were to be made. For as Unrelenting Jukebox sped off into through the path to reach the Blue King’s territory, the neutral land of Faded City loomed over him from the side. And as he raced along, that meant that a certain someone else was very, very close to his vehicle.

With a yawn, Verdant Grin summoned a ball of condensed wind into his palm and hurled it straight at Jukebox’s bike. Almost instantly, the razor winds tore at the wheels, sending the bike into a mad frenzy as it skidded out of control. Waiting for Jukebox to realize his situation and ditch the now burning ride, the Green King casually walked over to where he thought his subordinate would land and waited.

“Someone’s in a good mood,” he commented idly with raised eye and crossed arms.

Nies Hellum

As everything seemed to draw to a close, Nies once more found herself alone. This startled her, and she looked for Jukebox, or Static. She couldn't see either of them. Had they been killed? alone, Nies just stood there, unsure of what to do. She had wanted to come to the black city, but so far all that had come off it was the Dissolution. For a few moments, it was like everything wasn't real as she stood there. Like time had frozen for a few minutes.

Sighing to herself, Nies looked at the destruction of her car. She then just started to walk. What else could she do? Maybe she'd find Static or Jukebox, but she didn't get her hopes up. And then she figured that she might as well just log out for the day. She wasn't going to get much more done, in anycase. And she had promised herself a better balance, between life and this. And she had homework.

So she found a safe place to log out, doing so.

Cassandra

Waking from the digital immersion, Cassandra sat up, and glanced about, blinking. For a moment, she wasn't sure were she was, until she realised she was in her dorm room. Her dorm room. She smiled, and then rose, stretching. She should get something to eat, and do her homework. She grabbed her bag, and headed out.

She decided to find a fast food place, or something like that, soon finding a place, hearing as she walked in "A number 34 for table 03!" and she just stood there for a moment, looking about the place. She saw a girl she thought she recognised from school, but didn't have the guts to go up to her.

So Cassandra ordered some food, she hesitated about where to sit, and just stood there again.

Eris Valkeyr

-Raison d'etre: Declaration of Existence-

Eris tapped the tip of her mechanical pencil over her notebook in a quasi-rhythmic way while she waited for her order. She was still mulling over her homework, especially the world history part.

Actually, it was not as if Eris didn't understood history, but more like she had a profound dislike of the subject, almost into straight-out loathing. The reason for this was simple and stood everywhere around her the, so called World Interface and the Deep Ground Online 'roleplaying game'. Eris had so much hatred of the concept of having her life be determined by the results of a game held by an amorphous digital entity that she could not even put it on words.

Eris even considered not playing the game at all, but this would solve nothing. The only thing that could come from disregarding the Deep Ground Program was a life condemned to the slums and this, Eris would not accept. However, she still wasn't out to bow before her loathed foe and decided that if there was even a chance of disemboweling the beast from inside out, she would seek, she would take it and... she would succeed.

It does not matter if her selfishness would throw the world into chaos, no... actually it would be for the better. People had grown weak, docile like animals. Nothing but pigs in human clothing, waiting to be culled by the mighty of the World Interface. Struggling for themselves for the first time would be a boon, instead of a curse.

Perhaps, that was the reason why Eclipse Princess was born. She represented all of Eris' ideals, all of her inconformity to the system. Eclipse Princess was nothing but power on its must undiluted form, for Eris she represented that which humans have forgotten long ago. That the law of the nature is for the strong to live and prey on the weak.

Placing all your life on the hands of a machine was...

SNAP!

"Damn!" Eris cursed under her breath when the sound of her mechanical pencil snapping on her grip shook her out of her revelry. How many did she break just this month? Four, five? It does not matter. Whenever Eris allowed herself to get into that train of thought, she was almost certain that whatever was in her grasp would be turned to splinters as the rage inevitably built inside of her until the point where she couldn't hold it any longer.

"Anyway, I have to clean this." Eris said as she got up from her table and went to throw the plastic splinters into the trash bin. It was then that she noticed a redheaded girl, who she faintly recalled from school, standing around without knowing what to do. Frankly, that is exactly the kind of behavior that Eris disliked, but still, she could not let a schoolmate on their own like that. It just did not sit well with Eris' ethos.

Eris walked to the girl and stood within her line of sight before saying, "If you don't mind the company, you can share the table with me." Eris then went back to her table and beckoned the girl to follow her, just before sitting again, Eris extended her hand to the girl and introduced herself.

"Eris Valkeyr." Eris said in a curt manner and then stared at the girl as she waited for a reply.
