Lucas Ryder: Following Master Jamie

For: @Caits

Lucas could see Jamie was taking extra time to make sure the risk of Lucas being seen was minimal, even while tailgating he was still admiring the master. The master had finally made a move on someone, a male. Lucas's first response was to jump in but he held back on a rooftop, out of sight and surveying the area. Lucas searched, Master Jamie and his target... nothing, nothing and no- wait, something caught his eye, something on the roof above Master Jamie. Lucas couldn't assess the risk without being spotted, so he prepared to back him up.

Ni Rensa – Crocus Street

@hatakekuro

Without any stops on the way, lest she should lose her resolve, Ni led Enma back to the Doma Flau, through the congested entryways stuffed with people either leaving out of disappointment or vying to get back in and see the fight, and into the Frenzy Plant seating area. The War Sphinx breathed deeply as she approached General Sanders, but did not falter. Even the old man outclassed her in terms of height, but Ni Rensa thought nothing of that. A lifetime of being small meant that she'd long ago accepted that no matter the circumstance, she'd be looking up. ”Genyeral!” she hailed, and gave her report.

When she was done, Sanders remained still for a moment. Then a wan, dry turn of the mouth that might have been a shadow of a grin appeared between his whiskers. ”To your knowledge, did Argus receive his brand before going out into town?” A few seconds of consideration went by before Ni shook her head. ”Then even though Argus passed his test, he is not technically affiliated with us yet, and we are not liable for any damages he might incur.: This conclusion brought forth a sigh of relief from Ni. Her blunder held no consequence; she was off the hook.

”However...” Ni went rigid.

”Try to see to it that you are not beaten by articles of furniture in the future, Lieutenant.”

The War Sphinx laughed nervously. ”Yes, sir! Nyo more wardrobes will ever get the drop onya me!” Returning to Enma, she took a seat to watch the Chimera battle currently taking place. ”Yeesh. Ya probably haven't experienced it yet, but havin'nya to report a failure to Sanders is intense!”

The strange pair listened stoically to all that James, Cody, and the newly-arrived Levi had to tell them. Evidently the brown-haired, headband-sporting man knew a thing or two about blades, for by the acuity of his eyes alone he could craft a firm and wise-sounding pronouncement about not just this sword, but all of them. With a short burst of laughter at his victory, the butterfly knight turned to the ladylike moth at his side, having given Cody the weapon to inspect more closely. “Can't judge a book by her cover, wouldn't you say? I win this round, dearie.”

At that, his partner cast an irritating look his way, losing her focus for a moment. Just then, the sword in Cody's hands began to glow, and in a blur of chaotic motion it was replaced by a young girl in expensive clothes. Half-conscious and black-eyed, she twitched feebly in the man's arms. Under her breath, the moth lady cursed, and took a step back.

A sudden silence fell over the knight as he froze. Slowly, he turned his brilliant blue eyes on the three humans, though he gave his companion a light prod with his index finger. “Sadie...you're going to be the death of us, darling.”

Crossing her arms, Sadie sniffed imperiously. “Whatever do you mean, darling? Surely you don't think these three could possibly give us any sort of challenge? And surely, Gil, you don't think dying alongside your Empress would be a fine way to go?”

Gil, still smiling, reached for his belt and drew a long, elaborate scimitar with a flourish. At the same time, Sadie reached out for a fascinated onlooker, stretching her fingertips toward him, and sent some kind of wisp spiraling into his body. Instantly, the young man's shape disappeared in a whirl of motion that flew back toward Sadie and in her hand resolved itself to be a standard-looking spear. The two moved close together, their faces masks of equal parts compassion and hatred for one another, but regardless if these humans saw fit to play the heroes the Beasts would fight as one.

Closing his eyes and laughing to himself, Nero squeezed Eve's shoulder gently. ”That...that was a good one, E. I'll never be able to tell ya how grateful I am for ya. I must be the luckiest dude alive.” A new feeling rooted itself within him. While not usually one to care about keeping his less-than-benign nature a secret, he'd never shared this particular truth before. Having a friend to not only listen but to understand and accept took a substantial weight off his chest. Now featuring a warm smile, the Genie watched as Ayame gave a lot of money to Trinity. The sight of it inspired him to say something out of the blue. ”Isn't the kid a gem, Winger? Unhesitating consideration for strangers, without the dogma of some guild master shoved down her throat. We may be dark mages, but I'll betcha we do more good for people than most so-called light guilds can do in twice the time. We could practically form our own guild at this rate...yeah! A wandering, masterless guild: Miracle Eye! Sounds fun, right? Man, am I good at improv! Anyhoo, good luck with old Karn. Don't waste your effort on someone who doesn't care enough for ya to keep livin' for ya. Come with us if ya like. Ciao!”

Another moment and the group were off. Truth be told, Nero's knowledge of Crocus layout was shaky at best; he relied mostly on luck, signs, and asking directions. After nearly getting lost in a trade district, Nero finally found his destination: Reddy, Ame, and Fyher's. This chain of ranges, present in towns all across Fiore, catered not only to mages but also to normal people, who used bows, knives, axes, shurikens, or any variety of gun in place of the arcane arts. ”And heeeeeere we are! Sorry that took so long, ladies. After you!” He held the door open for his friends, and from inside came the muffled sounds of wizardry and gunslinging.

James Hunt|Streets of Crocus

James had been fully prepared to simply walk away and let the pair continue on with their day until the girl-turned-sword became a girl again. This cause the paladin to narrow his eyes and re-summon his helmet as his free hand found his sword hilt and bared an inch of the steel. That wasn't a normal thing to see and something about it didn't sit right with him, and suddenly these two didn't seem so...in costume. His suspicions were only confirmed when the moth lady turned another by stander into a weapon and the sword came completely free, the paladin sliding into a ready stance, his sword tip poised over the top of his shield. For good measure, he tapped the lacrima he'd embedded in the hilt and hoped that his guild mates could hear him. "This is James. I've encountered some strange and less than pleasant creatures, a humanoid moth and butterfly. I request assistance." He wasn't sure how long anyone would take, but he was sure he could buy the time needed if he shot up a signal of some kind.

"Who are you and...do I want to know why you are turning people into weapons?"

Damian Gerard|Phoenix Wing Hotel

Damian continued working on Durandal's edge. "You are currently in my hotel room after some kind of incident. I have no idea what happened in it though."

Jack Goran|Dragon Fang Seating

"Jackie, I'm beginning to think I know why you're irritated, though diamond make is indeed impressive."

Artemis

@Zarkun@Lugubrious@CirusArvennicus@hatakekuro
Even though she hadn't appeared when called earlier, Artemis appeared by James. "Sorry for not coming sooner. I was being... initiated in the spirit world. Apparently how I was created means I need to follow some specific rules." She would have explained more but it seemed that James might be facing these two creatures. While she didn't summon her bow just yet, she was ready to. There was a strange sense coming from the spear that one of them was holding. Having just missed the transformation she didn't quite realize it used to be a person.

Penny

As Karns battle seemed to draw to a climax, Penny let out a breath. Karn seemed okay, and she checked the time, knowing that she didn't have that much time to return to the hotel, to get ready. So after a quick look back, she started back to the hotel, her vision lacRmia still in hand, and she used that to keep in touch with the battle. She didn't doubt that Karn could win the battle, but what he would be like after? As she turned into the hotel, she knew that she wouldn't be able to do anything, and there wasTrinity, and Prince.

So went to her room, keeping the lacrima where she could see it, as she showered, and then tried to tame her hair, wondering if she should just cut it short as she brushed out snarls and knots. She liked it long, though. By the time she was done, it was dry, and she pulled it back, leaving a few pieces hanging to frame her face.

She looked back to the battle, but there still didn't seem to be a winner. She went to her clothes, realizing she hadn't really brought any clothes that could be considered date wear. Studying her clothes, she tried to make an outfit, finally settling on a simple dress, hesitating before grabbing a wrap a round scarf.

Preoccupied, she didn't notice the voices floating down the halls that would mean somethingn else was up.

Trinity Stratos

The young lady studied the coin for a moment before she shook her head. "I still want my wish, Nero. Just consider it a rain check." She spins the coin in her fingers, studying it for oddities or such before tucking it away in her robe. Not that she'd complain if it weren't usable currency, it'd make a good charm.

She kept spinning it in her fingers, about to speak to Nero's offer before the young lady with them placed a large bag of gold in front of her. Trinity gazed at the bag of gold, and then the girl, and then Nero as he praised her generosity. "Er, well... If she's certain." Trinity took the bag, weary not of its contents but of the action itself. She'd have to hang on to it for a little bit, just in case. "Thank you very much, Ayame. That was very generous. I won't have to worry about money for a bit with this. Not that I'm going to just sit around on account of your generosity."

"A guild without a master?" Trinity turned her two-toned gaze to Nero, considering the words he had to say about the guild he'd create. "If there's no master, can it really be called a guild? How about... a union? And if you're worried about how much good you're doing, I'm not sure if Dark Union gives the impression you want. Independent? Or Free? The Independent Union, Miracle Eye. Got a nice sound to it, wouldn't you say?" The dark mage opened a door for her, and she proceeded within. She was presented with a firing range. "Ooh." She requipped her bow and quiver as she entered, standing within as she looked around, gathering her surroundings. A group of three sat in a small smoking lounge off to the side, relaxing after firing off some rounds downrange. Her guess was that they wanted to go for more, but not just yet. "Ooh, I get to see Nero attack directly?"

Jasmine

Jasmine jots down her targets quickly. Dragon Fang and Iron Enigma, and "Tough Love, Rider's Blade, Pirate Lord... Fourth one?" She looks up at her brother. "I'll at least get a brief summary of what they're about and their team roster. Anything else is gravy. You should also keep your ear out for big names that aren't participating. Not everyone's about the competition, after all."

NOLAN

"I'm afraid that Fleo and Amaya would take great exception to strangling Team Powder Keg's Mascot." He watched her fall straight onto the bed and in no time she fell asleep. She had been held captive in that cave with Tidius and then nearly lost her life to Marlene's rage so it was understandable that she would be exhausted. Nolan was exhausted as well and wanted to sleep though before that he had one thing to do left. From the small desk next to the chair he pulled a leather bound book and a magic pen from one of its drawers. The leather was worn, the brown material no longer once had the same luster when he first obtained it. Opening it he flipped to a blank page and begun to write. It wasn't long until he was passed out on the chair, the book laid spread out on the floor.

@Lugubrious
ENMA
That wasn't much for debate. Even Enma, a being that terrified many with his presence alone, felt uneasy at the thought of an upset Sanders. There was an incident where he once accidentally called him Colonel Sanders and...well let's say that incident didn't pan out well for Enma. The odd thing is that he didn't know why accidental slip up warranted such a lecture though for some reason he was craving fried chicken, a delicacy that he had seen in numerous locations though hasn't tried it himself. "Heh, well I wouldn't say that I haven't, but it was something trivial. Let's just say that he doesn't take being called colonel lightly."

The oni turned his attention to the battle between Karn and Krystal. For the two months he had trained with him and Nolan, he had fought him on one occasion. It was this guys fighting style to make his opponent feel like they are being played before he took the fight seriously. He had made that mistake and let his guard down around him when sparring Karn. The flames from the Chimera were certainly not something to underestimate. "Heh, looks like Karn's training paid off." The oni stated with a proud smirk on his face.

@Zarkun@Lugubrious@Lunarlors34
LEVI

What...what in the world? Did that sword turn into a woman or was he seeing things? No, he felt that surge of magic used to cast that spell. These humanoid creatures turned people into weapons and didn't seem like they were planning on letting them live. The moth woman turned a bystander into a spear and the moth man unsheathed a beautiful weapon, most likely containing some sort of powerful magic though he couldn't tell. It was obvious that whatever they are and whatever they plan on doing, it was going to be up to them to at least hold them off until help arrived...The problem however was that he never had fought anyone with magic before! Sure he trained himself to control his curse and fought the occasional bandit, but even then they were simply normal humans that couldn't even hold their own against a low class mage such as himself. He could back out and let James and Cody handle it, but he wouldn't forgive himself for being so cowardly when there are strange creatures harming people.

"I-I hate fighting, but I can't stand aside and watch this happen!" Black tendrils of energy had begun to emit from his body, pulsating and moving around with organic movements as if it was alive. Any mage could tell that this wasn't normal magic; it was a Black Art of the most foul kind though why would someone who practices something like this be fighting for good?

(OOC: Wait? What? O_O And here I thought Cody might score a weapon XD)
@Lugubrious@CirusArvennicus@hatakekuro
Cody stood there in shock for a moment, before turning to face the humanoid moth and butterfly with an intense look in his eye.
"Care to explain?" He asked, taking a couple of steps back as they turned an innocent bystander into a weapon and unsheathed another. This wasn't good.
"Levi, I know no attack magic so could you help James keep them off me?" he whispered to Levi before placing the girl down gently and facing the moth and butterfly again.
"Absolute Shield, Activate. Absolute Defense, Activate." Cody whispered underneath his breath, staring down the two humanoids. If it was a fight they wanted, it was a fight they would get.

Jarvis and Mayt's Bandit round up

@Caits@Burthstone

Jarvis followed Mayt, thinking that the younger mage was enjoying this all too much. Had something happened to Mayt? Jarvis frowned, and decided to watch him for a bit, "Hang on. I need a few moments to make the trackers" He said, stopping, and beginning to fiddle with some lacrima's. It had been roughly 16 years since he had made one, and the memory of the last time he had done so was bitter. why did you have to do what you did, Antony? he thought sadly in his head, as he made the lacrima, slipping them into a sack before continuing to follow Mayt, ready now.

Mayt stopped when Jarvis said he needed a moment, glancing back at him, and he nodded once Jarvis gave the A-Okay. They were at the tent in no time, and the two people making sure no one escaped let them on in. "Alright, Jarvis, pick our first suspect." He said as he pushed the first tent flap open for his companion, smirking.

Jarvis studied the bandits, looking for the one that would break the easiest, the one whose resolve wasn't necessarily the best. He finally chose one, "that one" he said pointing to the one he had chosen, looking to see if Mayt had any complaints, before approaching the man he had picked out

Mayt nodded, and moves with Jarvis to get the one he had picked. "And we've found our lucky winner." He smirked slightly as he helped bring him to where they had decided to interrogate the seven bandits. This one having already decided that he wasn't going to cause any unnecessary problems, and so he didn't resist or complain about going with them.

Jarvis relaxed slightly, as the bandit seemed to decided to cooperate with them, or at least wasn't putting up a fight, which would have drawn unnecessary attention as Jarvis slipped a tracker Lacrima onto the Bandit, small and unnoticed. Jarvis then turned to face the bandit, as they reached their interrogation spot, arms crossed, and glaring at the bandit "Why did you attack the train?"

Once they had gotten to where they had decided to interrogate the bandits, Mayt went around the rock and leaned against it just out of sight. The Bandit sighed softly as Jarvis asked his question, and crossed his arms."Because it looked rich and like an easy target. We thought we could get in, get what we want, and get out without too much trouble."

Jarvis couldn't help but laugh at that. "unlucky for you that a guild wizard was on board. But why do it? There are plenty of services you can provide without having to result to thievery. Like...well, ironically, being a train guard." he said with amusement, glad he was doing this now, but he wanted to know the answer

The thief rolled their eyes. "No duh unlucky for me that he was on board. As for thieving, the pay is good enough to support my family, very much unlike every job I've ever tried to have." He looked about, not at all amused by Jarvis. Once he saw Mayt wasn't around, he leaned forward a little and lowered his voice slightly. "On an unrelated note, is that guy really an S-Class wizard? I've never even heard of him before. I mean, The Phoenix and... What's his name... Uh, Damian! That's it. The Phoenix and Damian I know about, but I've never heard of a Mayt."

Marlene Evangeline

"You are currently in my hotel room after some kind of incident. I have no idea what happened in it though."

Marlene groans again as she finally sits up right and her fogginess slowly begins to go away.

"You know... it was one of the strangest phenomenons I've ever felt..." she answers slowly, "One moment I was calm and in a state of mind... then I find myself going b-berserk... and then I b-blacked out..."

She turns to Samir Saron.

"A-and who are you?" she asks.

"The one who put you down." Samir simply replies, "With a tranq arrow to your back."

The crystal maiden pauses to try and recall what happened...

"Huh... no wonder I felt woozy before I came into black."

A silent pause...

"So you shot me?"

"Yes."

Another awkward silent pause...

"T-thanks I guess. Y-your name?"

"Samir Saron. Yours?"

"Marlene Evangeline."

"Hm. Nice name."

"T-thanks..."

. . .

"T-this is getting awkward..."

Samir sighs as she gets herself comfortable.

"So what happened exactly? How did you get so... berserk?"

"Ooooh boy, long story. Um... l-lets see... I busted through Nolan's room after chasing his exceed... hung out around Sasha and Lazarus... hung out with Nolan again but also with James and Enma... then came back to the fromer group to eat... then this Argus bitch disrupted everything and got me and Enma naked... and THEN... then I saw Nolan kissing this one other girl... dark skin tone... heard her name was... um... Ariel? I think that was her name. A-and... I heard Nolan was scared of girls... and for some reason I seemed to get pissed for some reason, don't ask why I just did... And I couldn't control myself. Next thing I know, you apparently shot me.. and now I'm here in the room of...?"

She looks around for a while until setting eyes on Damian.

"And your name~?"

"Damian." Samir interrupts and finishing Marlene's sentence.

"Stop finishing my~"

"Sorry. I'll stop."

Marlen pauses before groaning again and covering her face.

"Ughhhh my head hurts..."

Mark Zerrit and Luna Cathris -- Crocus Streets
Luna looked up as Mark came out of the Phoenix Wing hotel. "Any luck?" She'd ask him, standing all the way up, and Mark just chuckled softly in response, shaking his head.

"Of course not. The only guy there was Damian, and he's very... Unhappy towards Iron Enigma for some reason. Regardless, seems like our best bet is going to be to head back near the arena and wait for our guild to come out. No on in there was much help at all, and I don't even know where to begin looking for our hotel." Mark straightened his back some and looked around, as if he imagined he could see the Iron Enigma hotal from where he was standing in front of Phoenix Wing's. Luna sighed.

"Maybe we could just ask around? I'm sure there are a few people who are big fans of the games who can't afford to be in the arena itself." Luna would say softly, looking around. The two hadn't attracted much attention of anyone, and Mark nodded a bit.

"Maybe so. Hey!" Mark spoke a little louder at a random passer-by, grabbing his shoulder and moving over to his side. "Hey, any chance you know where the Iorn Enigma Hotel is?" The man thought for a moment, before pointing and saying that theyw ere fairly sure that the hotel was somewhere over there, Mark gave him a thumbs-up and thanked him before heading back over to Luna. "Alright, so that guy said it was over this way." He started to walk towards where the man had pointed, and Luna just rolled her eyes some, smiling.

After half an hour of walking they actually came up to the Dragon Fang Guild Hall, and Mark cursed again, causing Luna to widen her eyes some. "Er, sorry Luna. Crap, uh. Maybe we were supposed to take a turn somewhere? Let's go back." He couldn't help his face reddening a little at cursing in front of Luna, and he began walking back towards Phoenix Wing's hotel, this time taking a different way back. On the way back they came to an area with a bunch of soldiers hanging around, and Mark raised an eyebrow as he approached one. "What's going on here?" He asked, and the soldier looked at him with a bored face before speaking.

"Someone attacked the magic guild staying here, so we're here to make sure they don't come back and attack again while our commander tries to find out who did it and bring them to justice." Mark looked over at Luna with a bit of a smile.

"Explains why I saw Gregory walking down the hallway on his way out of the Arena, seems like we've found it. Let's head in and find out what chaos needs to be caused." He started walking towards the door to the hotel, but the soldier stopped him.

"I'm sorry sir, no one but members of the guild in question are allowed inside." Mark rolled his eyes and held up his hand to show the guard his guild mark. Luna bit her lip as she turned around and pulled down her hood to show the mark on the back of her nest. The Guard recognized her. "Oh, sorry Miss. I didn't recognize you from the games immediately. You two can go in." Mark nodded to the Soldier, deciding it was best not to give him a hard time for recognizing Luna and not him. The two headed inside to find out what pandemonium occured while Luna was sleeping off her fight with War.

Grant Vale -- Streets of Crocus
Grant had been about to give up and head back to the hotel to tell his father that he had failed to find the culprit when he came to a fairly empty road that had two people standing in the middle of it, one of which was Master Jamie. Unbelieving of his luck, Grant began a brisk walk towards Master Jamie and the individual he was talking to. Up in Ferrin's hotel room, if the candle flame wasn't already huge from Master Jamie, it was certainly big from Grant.

"Hey!" Grant said rather loudly as he got close to the two, holding up his hand in greeting. "I'm looking for some jerk-wad that attacked my guild and killed one of my guild-mates. Do you happen to know who it might've been and where they are?" This would be just to Master Jamie, Grant wouldn't do much more than glance at Ferrin.

Ferrin Astra

Ferrin didn't answer Jamie right away. Instead he just stood there for a moment, posture reaxed with his mecanical arm in a pocket and hidden from sight in the reddish orange light if a rather beautiful sunset. He then sighed, and reached into a pocket slowly. His hand came out with a pack of cigarets, which he flipped open and pulled on out with his teeth. He replaced it and reached into a differnt poket for a lighter. He proceeded to light his cigaret as he stood there with his back to Jamie, considering what to do. He also noted the presence of someone on the rooftop. As he did, another loud man walked up and asked a question.

Ferrin made up his mind. To hell with the lies. At least Jamie need to know. He thought. He blew a little smoke, and said, "Oh that? That was me." Usually, Ferrin would attack fist, but he wanted now to resolve this with little violance. Since Jamie would mostlikly interfere and few sane people would pick a fight with a guild master, Ferrin hoped that the newcomer would leave to get backup or somthing. But, just in case, he shifted slightly, prepared for any sort of attack the newcomer would use.

Dornae Namari - The Luckless Enchanter
Theme I/|\Theme II/|\Theme III

Eyes suddenly shifting to the candle as it notified them of magical presence, Dornae rose to his feet, casting his eyes at the door. "I don't like this," the enchanter said, his tone wary, eyes narrowed. "Any ideas Valak?" He said, the question almost rhetorical. He drew his Enchanter's blade as he noted the flame denote just how close they were. Then, taking in a deep breath he carved several runes onto its handle and then pointed it, looking down the flat of his blade as he gradually moved it. While it would appear strange to his companions, what he saw was quite different than just a wall and the blade's flat. Notably, he saw through the walls of the area. It took him a few minutes, but he eventually found Ferrin's energy signature, followed by several others...one being the man he had encountered.

Dangerous. He lowered the dagger and turned his eyes back to the candles, watching them intently. The rune on his dagger didn't fade, he might need it again very soon.

master Jamie

Jamie looked over as Grant approached, thinking that Grant couldn't possibly be accusing him. Glancing at Ferrin, Jamie didn't speak for a moment. If Ferrin had been involved with rescuing Mithera, chances were they were responsible. Ferrin might not be apart of her guild, but mithera was, and Jamie didn't want to bring any trouble to them.

"Sorry Grant, I don't know who attacked your guild, like I told your master. But I assume it would be the same people who have mithera now" he said, "when I find mithera, I'll let you know" sometimes even pretending to be cooperative was best.

He looked back to Ferrin "I know that. Which is why I followed you. I'd like to speak with you, shortly" he said, looking back to Grant, waiting to see if he would leave

Karn's battle really was heating up now. "Come on Karn!" He wanted Karn to win so bad. It would put them in prime position in the games. He did looked to Sasha though. She wasn't pressing him anymore. "It's something I need to do as a man." He nodded, looking back to the battle.

Grant Vale -- Crocus Streets
As Ferrin spoke up, saying that he was the culprit, Grant chuckled softly before shooting him with a pair of finger-guns. "Awesome. Glad that's sorted out." He nodded respectfully to Master Jamie. As he turn and began walking, he spoke. "Did either of you catch Maddox and my fight? It was pretty good. Maddox is certainly a strong mage." On that note, Grant left. He was fairly content with how things had turned out, and as he headed around the corner he chuckled softly to himself. That, in fact, couldn't of gone much better. He now knew who had attacked them, what he looked like, and could easily have him followed.

Mithera -- Hotel Room
Mithera would've been watching the flame in terror, knowing precisely who was outside without having to ask. As Dornae did something with his sword before looking back at the fire, Mithera took the moment to slip underneath the pillow. She knew it was Grant outside. His magic was similar to Melina's, not only because of their relation, but because of what it was. Mithera only stuck her head back out when she could feel that he was going away from her, and the tiny dragon let out a little sigh.

All that greeted the black tendrils of Levi, the weaponry of James, and the defenses of Cody were snickers from Sadie and Gil, albeit ones made alien by the strangeness of their features. Running a finger along the edge of his blade, the butterfly knight called, "Less talk, more pain, tinhead!" and jumped at James, swinging his blade back and forth with great speed. To a skilled observer and swordfighter such as the Paladin, the intricacies of Gil's style would be readily apparent: while the Emperor obviously relied on power over skill, his technique was far from sloppy. Rather, it was telegraphed and inflexible, which practically begged for some sort of magical edge to give its user an advantage--and yet, Gil offered nothing but a decently fast and decently powerful onslaught.

Meanwhile, Sadie the Empress elected to take on both Levi and Cody at once. Her plan, though simple, promised to deal with both of them in one stroke. Brandishing her new and ill-gotten spear, she cried, "If a bug hit your shield, would it splatter into mush? Let's see!" After reeling back, the moth lady threw her weapon in a slow arc toward Cody, and in mid-flight removed the hex she'd placed on it to restore its original form. Cody now faced a screaming person flying straight at him, ready to either smack into his defenses and take damage -thereby demoralizing and possibly inflicting mental damage on Cody- or prompting him to lower his defenses and get hit by a flying man. For Sadie, it was a win-win. Only one complication confronted her: now, she held no weapon. This too was easily remedied.

She outstretched her hand toward Levi and let loose a hex. If he wasn't saved in one way or another, he'd become her next tool of war, Egg of Sin or no.

Though for Mark and Luna the trip back to the Phoenix Wing hall proved uninteresting, to call it uneventful would merely have been an exercise in ignorance. Up and down hills, past interesting buildings, through marketplaces, over bridges, around crowds, and under arches, the two Iron Enigma wizards were tailed. Their followers shadowed them at a respectful distance, making no imperfect attempts to mask their leisurely pursuit. From the corners of their eyes, Luna and Mark could see them clearly. One bore a face known to them, one adorned with glasses, framed by long, thick, orange hair, and crowned with a ludicrous hat. Stacy bore her usual, curious half-smile, the kind that makes onlookers want to talk to her and find out why. Her companion, however, was unknown to them. This burly, intimidating individual hid most of herself beneath a wide-brimmed hat, a long duster, thick pants, and boots, but her face and lower arms -the only visible parts- bore every aspect of a bird of prey. From her, people instinctively shied away.

Steadily the two strange figures grew closer. By the time Mark and Luna reached their destination, their shadows were practically on their tails. Stacy raised a hand and called, "Oh, Mark? There's someone I want you to meet!"

The instant that Mark turned to face her, however, he was assailed by a giant fist and a feather-faced smirk. Regardless of the outcome, Lockheart put a hand over her mouth and laughed. "Sorry about my wingman! Lakota's a bit of a hothead." Her hair began to lash around, sparking with orange electricity, and the eyes of her supposed hat blinked visibly. Lakota shot her an angry look as Stacy continued, "Anyway, I loved the date last night. I'd love it more, however, if you came quietly." She put her hands on her hips and grinned at Luna. "And you can come too, sweetie!"

Though events of action and intrigue took place all across Crocus, not least of all in the Doma Flau, time passed with a languid slowness in the Frenzy Plant camp. Those who had been practicing with blade and armor trained no more, instead gone to the arena to spectate the final match. Zander and Hyun took the prisoners with them, and kept their intents quiet to everyone. Aside from a fitful southern breeze, the only stirring in the camp was the noise coming from the repair tent. Aside from Cecilia, those who remained did so in order to rest. Magni, Thor, and Gabriel eased their physical and psychological wounds with the balm of slumber.

The footsteps, when they came, fell largely on deaf ears. Even though one of the beings gave of a regular clank-clank of heavy armor and the other held draped over his shoulders and wrapped around his waist a creature inclined to frequent hissing, their arrival drew little attention. It took a double-take from Cecilia, having just about finished the mending of her armor, before anyone noticed the new arrivals. The sight of them filled the young knight with dread; a diving-suited man with a claw arm and a somber youth carrying a monstrous two-headed snake did could mean nothing good. She grabbed her sword from the worktable and rushed out, unarmored, to accost them. "Halt this instant! What do you think you're...augh!" before she could even finish her sentence, the great serpent lashed out and headbutted her with enough force to send her body crashing through Thor's nearby tent. Cecilia groaned, conscious but too full of aches to get up. The serpent retracted to curl around her lover's foot, who spat, "This is the challenge that the warrior guild offers us? Sad, sad, sad, Naomi." Nodding sagaciously, Naomi echoed, "Ssad, ssad, ssad, Jann."

A mocking, maniacal cackle issued from the diving helmet of the Lover's associate. "There be nobody home! Let's torch the place, afore the basta'ds get back! I got a score to settle wiv Frenzy Plant."

Hunter's search for a peaceful place to eat turned up, before a suitable cafe or restaurant, a most unexpected occurrence: a mole reading a discarded newspaper. After a few moments, the mole seemingly finished with the day's announcements -including a short detail of information on all the guilds now participating in the games- and heaved itself up onto its hind legs and began, of all things, to shuffle directly toward him. Somehow, though little more than a mere mammal, the tiny beast bore an improbably yet unmistakable aura of intent.

While this happened, a woman drew level with Hunter. Garbed in a striped red dress that clung to her wide hips, a cream-colored shawl, and the mask of a lion, she, too, watched the mole as he came closer. After a moment, it became obvious not only that the mole's path directed him toward her, but that -given the texture of the fur, the detail of the inner mouth, the flicking of the ears, and the predatory luster of the eyes- this woman was anything but human. "How...unfortunate," she intoned in a graceful, low voice. "He thinks to protect you from me. Or will he help me to take you down? Either way, it won't be pretty. The Mysteries rally against you, Hunter Jorgenson." She turned her lion face on the Dragon Fang wizard, locked eyes with him dangerously, and snarled.

Hunter Jorgenson|Streets of Crocus

Hunter groaned when the mole person stood and he heard lion woman speak. "I don't give flying rat's ass if the mysteries rally against me. All I wanted to do was eat something." Sliding into a familiar ready stance, he looked at the lion faced woman and raised only an eyebrow at her genuine snarl. "Then again, a good fight solves the problem too. Guess food can wait." However, he didn't rush forward to attack, instead choosing to see what the lion woman would do first and act off of that.

James Hunt|Streets of Crocus

James avoided the first swing and intercepted the second with his own sword, deflecting it off to the side and moving into the butterfly knight's guard, slamming him with his shield and delivering an upwards slice of his own aimed to go from hip to shoulder. Something about the creature's approach set the paladin on edge, and so he held back from using magic too soon.

Damian Gerard|Phoenix Wing Hotel

Damian stopped sharpening is blade long enough to give Marlene a long, hard look, most likely making her uneasy. "If I recall, you just met Nolan this morning. So, if I may, explain to me HOW in the HELL you're already infatuated with him." The Blade of Phoenix Wing showed just how well informed he was of human emotions in that second, though perhaps he was taking a swing in the dark. In his mind, it made sense at least.

Jack Goran|Dragon Fang Seating

"Well, you either REALLY don't like diamonds, or you're afraid she's going to catch the eye of a guy you might like. If neither of those are right, then you simply don't like her as a person." Any of those thoughts came across as amusing to the guild master, so he had to try hard to keep from chuckling before each one.

Marlene Evangeline/Samir Saron

Marlene only sighs at Damian's words.

"I wasn't mad at HIM" she replies, "I was mad that the girl kissed him first. It just... happened. My body began getting hot and started to move on its own. I tried to take control but it was just no use..."

She pauses for a second before continuing.

"I think part of it may have to with being forcibly naked by that Argus bitch... good god do I want to kick his ass. But it doesn't explain what happened with me and that girl against Nolan~"

"You liiiiiiiiiike him." cooes Samir with a wink.

"N-N-NO!" Marlene jumps in embarrassment as she turns really red, "I-I-It's not t-that at all! To-totally not that at all! We're j-just friends! I-I mean I can't possibly be i-in love with a g-g-guy who has a fear of w-women right? I-ha, ha- wouldn't be like that right? R-right?

The room would be silent as the archer would be giving Marlene a mischievous face with her eyebrows moving up and down.

"Your jeaaaaaaaalous aren't you? I mean I wouldn't blame you. Last time I saw him he looked pretty handsome. Hell I could've tried dating him myself if he wasn't scared shitless of girls."

"NO! BESIDES TH-THE GIRL KISSED HIM AND HE DIDN'T EVEN RESPOND IN FEA~!"

"Ariel must've used some form of magic to make Nolan more brave towards women. It's not that Nolan is lying about being scared of girls, cause he is, but that event must've lead Ariel into messing with Nolan's mind for a bit. Basically speaking, this wasn't exactly a true kiss. It was "artificially created" if that makes any sense."

Marlene was silent while reflecting upon herself. Perhaps she did really like him, even after flirting with him... and this was only in one day, so she barely even knows the guy! Yet already, it seems that for some damn reason, she is slowly falling into a form of love for Nolan... perhaps if keeping up, could even rival that of Juvia's obsession with Grey. Yet now her stupid body must've went into overdrive, madly jealous with what just happened. That must've been the reason why she went berserk...

She just wanted him sempai to notice her and maybe come to like her.

But who is she kidding? He's a gynophobic... however that came to be. For the two of them to even be together, or any other girl for that matter, would be smaller then even winning the lottery. Then again... she can try and fix things up... She continues to stay silent for a while until replying.

"I guess your right." Marlene answers finally, "I guess I really do like him, even if it's only been less then a da~"

"YOU LIIIIIIIIIIKE HIM!"

"STOP INTERRUPTING ME IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SENTENCE!!! AND DON'T REVEAL THAT TO EVERYONE IN THE WORLD!"

Samir would then calm down as she clears her throat.

"I suppose we can keep this amongst ourselves. We won't tell anyone," she replies calmly, "But if you really want to get Nolan's affection, you'll somehow need to eliminate his fear of women in a natural state with minimal or better no magic used in the process."

"B-but how?" asks Marlene curiously.

"Dunno yet." replies the archer, "But I guess we can find a way soon enough..."

She then glances over at Damian.

"What do YOU think, Damian?"
