Thomas waited patiently, he knew his turn would come. In the mean time he sat silent, flinching with each echoing clang as
Sara gathered weights for her demonstration. The point of this ordeal was lost on him, as he was unable to see the goings-on, but it was important for the others. His own power, so very subtle, was always difficult to describe and show off at these meetings. After a few moments of introspection, Thomas realizes that Katherin would need an explanation to have any idea of what was happening.

"Sara's strong, of body and spirit. She can channel her abilities into incredible strength, and even push or strike things from a distance. It's almost as though she can control kinetic energy, but I think it's more complicated than that," he explained in an undertone while the aforementioned Sara finalized her preparations.

Leo raised his hands. "Whatever you say Sara." He said. He'd rather not really get in a fight with her. He could withstand her punches, sure, but he'd really rather not. He would end up on the floor begging for the fight to stop as soon as it happened after all. But that didn't stop him from saying, "You're gonna help clean that up right?" He gestured to the plates she took out. Most likely, she would wreck those things and it might get a little messy. He wasn't even close to being friends with Sara so he was a little uneasy saying that but he's gotta do what he's gotta do. And cleaning up was part of that. He didn't want to burden Ms. Smith with it nor would he ask Thomas to help out but since Sara has been here for a while and was going to do the demonstration, she should take responsibility... right?

Anya watched the girl bring out large circular objects and put them onto another strange machine. It must be specially designed for her. Like those weird screeching things at the police office. Must only be for specific people right. A boy spoke up and asked if she was going to clean that up. Assuming 'that'was the circular objects. Probably ment there was going to be a mess. She would help if she could. Wanting to make new friends and helping is the best way to do that. Flaying out her coat as she adjusted her sitting position on the floor. Now on her knees. So she could see what the girl was doing better.

Katherin frowned at the explanations. She knew that Thomas was doing his best to explain everything to her. He didn't know what was happening anymore then she did. He could only tell her what others had taken the time to explain to him. She wondered what Sara was doing to show her strength. The metal could be weights. She had heard that strong people used them to show off how strong they were.

"Alright. That's enough kiddos," Sara yelled as she crossed the gym one last time, now carrying a clay disc; an overtone of sarcasm acknowledged the fact that she was, in fact, still one of the younger children at the Orphanage. "Hush up. I've got a bit to say about my power, and I don't want to have to repeat myself to anyone that's already in here." She lobbed the disc onto the mat, where it landed softly off to the side. Limbering up, she stepped behind her barbell.

"Now, this barbell is loaded up with... roughly two tons of weight. Yes, you heard me correctly: two tons." Bending from the knees, she lowered herself to the barbell, wrapping her hands around it in an overhand grip. With helpless heave, she made the an honest and admirable attempt at a deadlift. However, the small girl could barely hope to budge the two thousand pound weight. "I know what you new kids are thinking," she said after reasserting her composure. "And I'll say right now that, yes, I can't lift this... normally."

She sprung a mischievous grin, continuing. "That brings us to the first lesson in Sara Kapros 101." She stepped back from the weigh, entering into a horse stance. "Haaaaaaaaaaaa-!" She let out a shrilling, ascending scream. In the first few seconds, it seemed a pointless ritual, but quickly yielded substance: her muscles began to flex, even grow, as though the few seconds she spent screaming had equated to years of weight training. By the time she fell silent, her body had come to resemble one expected of a sport star, rather than the small girl she had been before.

She bent back down to the weight, gripping it just the same. With a mighty force, and a maintained form, she pulled upward and stood erect, with the weight securely lifted to her hips. Holding for five seconds, she slowly returned the weight to the mat; Ms. Smith would freak if she heard that kind of weight drop to the floor. As soon as the weight reached the floor, her body returned to its normal physique. "Alright, hopefully that gives ya'll the jist of that little trick. I can do that to pretty much increase any aspect of my physical performance; strength, speed, endurance. Now, for my next demonstration, I'll need a volunteer to assist me."

The girls nodded and followed her inside. Yumiko looked bund her as the door closed. She bit her lip and held her sister's arm wondering about what was going to happen to them now. They were not used to being apart from their parents, but they knew that they would never seen their parents ever again.

Leo sighed in relief as she didn't break anything yet. He wasn't exactly scared of her so he stood in silence and watched her demonstrate her power. He wasn't exactly surprised anymore. The first time she had showed her powers, he practically jumped in joy like how a kid does when he gets his favorite toy. It amazed him to see a power like that and he was really hyped to see more of it. But toys are something one can be easily bored of, that was the case for Sara's power. It was quite simple really, a power up. The use of a force called 'chi' and applying it in a sense to boost her physical strength. Although even so, he is interested on how she can expertly handle such a force and not unconsciously use it on others.

He raised his hand. "If it gets a little fighty, I can at least take some hits. I'll do it." Born in a martial arts kind of family, you'll get used to the pain. And even if Sara doesn't do something like a hand to hand fight and just try and demonstrate a non-destructive part of her power, then all the better.

William looked between the show and the others then to his hand thinking about what could be the origin to all of this.. as to why they have special abilities while there beings those who don't... he knows his isn't the result of simply being born.. he was forced into this and he had to make it his on. he clutched his fist and took a deep breath. he looked back to watch what would happen next.

jack let out a chilling sigh, he felt tat he should just leave now, he decided to get up and walk out the gym doors, jack sat down by the door just outside the gym, his arms around his legs and his head between his knees with his hood"why did I come here? why didn't I just keep walking? why didn't I just forget I ever heard about this place and kept living alone, free of the risk to hurt someone?!"

"Relax." Sara practically snorted a suppressed laugh. "I'm not about to get THAT physical; not yet anyways. Ms. Smith would probably have a heart attack if I started throwing punches in front of the new kids." She bent down and scooped up the the clay disc she had left to the side earlier. "But," she continued, "if you're really looking to help a girl out." She casually tossed the disc, similar in make and to those used for marksmanship practices, in Leo's direction. "You can come up here, and give that a good ride across the gym when I say so."

"If you say so." Leo said before catching the disc and then walking towards Sara. "Just to be clear, I'll just toss this thing?" He asked, gesturing to the disc in his hand. He didn't want to embarrass himself by making the wrong move just because he didn't understand Sara's instruction.

Brooke watched with awe as Sara's muscles grew incredibly fast, then picked up the impossibly heavy weight. That was really cool! Then Leo volunteered for the next demonstration, and Brooke eagerly awaited the next exhibition. As Sara tossed the disc to Leo, Brooke saw movement out of the corner of her eye. Another orphan, a boy with a white jacket and a streak of grey in his brown hair, was quietly leaving the room. He had looked to be about her age. Brooke glanced around again, but nobody else seemed to have noticed that he was gone. He'd miss the rest of Power Development if he didn't come back soon.

Normally, Brooke wouldn't have taken the initiative to approach someone, but the words of the driver echoed in her head: You can make new friends. She still didn't know how to make friends, but Brooke decided that, just this once, it wouldn't hurt to try. If they were quick, maybe they could be back in time for Sara's demonstration. She slipped out through the gym doors after him, footsteps quiet on the floor. The boy was sitting on the floor outside the gym, curled up with his arms wrapped around his legs.

"Hello? You'll miss power development," Brooke said.

Wait. That was the wrong order. According to her aunt, you were supposed to introduce yourself to people before you started talking to them.

"I'm Brooke," she tried again. "What's your name?"

Brooke sat down on the floor next to him, criss-cross applesauce. He had almost killed someone?

"Oh," Brooke said softly, not knowing how to respond. She supposed that was why they needed a place like the Orphanage, with classes to teach you about your powers. Brooke was lucky that her power was mostly harmless, but she had trouble with it too sometimes.

"They probably won't make you use your power. Maybe you can just watch?" Brooke suggested. "If you don't want to hurt people, the best thing would be to learn to control your abilities, right?

@fourtimesninejack smiled, it had been a while since someone met him and DIDNT scorn him

"i know full well how to use my power, I have dealt with it for 5 years, and I love it like a friend but the problem is that I could kill someone, I'm not afraid to show it, I'm just afraid to hurt somebody with it" he held his hand out like he were holding some spherical object in it..."watch"

a shadowy mass started to form in his hand, it started to take shape and became a small dagger"i have The power to manipulate darkness however I wish, its an amazing thing...but dangerous"

When Jack smiled, his features seemed to become brighter, friendlier. Brooke was glad that he seemed at ease, and a grin formed on lips in sympathy. Then her eyes widened as he made a dagger out of darkness. Did everybody here have such cool powers? Jack was right, it was amazing. With that amount of control, there were a world of possible uses that she wanted to ask him if he had tried. She was a little confused, though - how could he have hurt someone by mistake if he could control his powers so well? Brooke wanted to ask, but she was afraid of prying too much and driving him away. In the end, her curiosity got the better of her.

"Why is it dangerous? You don't want to hurt people, so you won't," she said naively.

@fourtimesninejacks expression change shortly"my power runs on to things alone:Shadows and my capability to be calm, when I'm angry, I cant stop myself from hitting someone, and I cant stand it."jack sat the knife down and faced her"i came here hoping nothing bad would happen'

Brooke hadn't thought of that, but it was logical in hindsight. She nodded. "That makes sense. My power, making portals, is like that too. When I'm scared or upset, portals form almost on their own, but it's hard to make them when I'm calm and happy."

It had been surprising to find that the worse she felt, the easier her power came to her. Brooke wondered what it said about the nature of their powers, that their abilities seemed to appear in reponse to negative emotions. Maybe their powers were just trying to protect them. Maybe there was something more nefarious going on.

"But it doesn't have to be that way. I'll learn to control my power better, so I can use it whether I'm calm or upset. You can learn to manage anger, and not hit people with your power when you're mad. That's why we're here," she said. Brooke felt that she was perhaps being too optimistic - she didn't really know anything about powers yet - but surely nobody would've built an orphanage to teach kids to manage their powers if it was impossible to.
