Appearance: Hadrian looks like a fit young man, with a scraggly beard, a slightly prominent nose, and dark blue eyes. He keeps his black hair cut in a caesar style. He has several characteristical scars on his face: a diagonal cut on his left cheek, a small one above the right side of the lip, and the right earlobe is missing. If one could see him without clothes, he has a puncture scar on his left leg and a slashing cut above the right side of the chest. He wears shaggy and loose clothes on a usual basis, of grayish tones, singed and full of patches, like those of a mudlark. His voice is somewhat raspy, low-key and gruff, and he walks with a rather depressed air. A notable characteristic , which gives him the namesake of "larva" (Latin for mask) is that he is almost never seen without a crude iron mask depicting a fanged visage.

Short bio (+personality): Hadrian was one of the many knights that throughout the middle ages, tasked themselves to take the Holy Land from the infidels. Serving his youth in Jerusalem, he valiantly helped Balian defend the city to its last against Saladin's siege. The outcome of the battle left him embittered about the world at large, and he trudged towards his home being a former shadow of the knight he once was. He abandoned his faith and his ways, and used what little money and status he had left to indulge in lavish desires, strongly considering to fall atop his sword, even if he knew fully well that suicide was a great sin.

It all changed, however, when a beckoning voice from a woman of pleasure enticed him to enter a random brothel in France. After the deed was done, he felt the sharp fangs of the woman on his neck -all too late- before he succumbed to the power and wiles of the she-vampire. He thought he would die. Far from it. He was reborn as a children of the night, his sire's pet knight whom she wanted to play with and use as a weapon against the fools who dared to oppose her. However, a miscalculation on her part didn't take in account the amount of self-hate of the knight, whom tired of being a puppet first to God and his King, and now to a vampire, decapitated her in a bout of wrath.

It all was downhill from here. Hating everything, Hadrian resolved to kill each and everyone of the supernatural creatures he came accross, and then kill himself for being a ravenous beast. A futile effort. Enemies kept piling up, as he was gaining a fearsome reputation as a vampire killer, and each passing day his will waned. Eventually, he came across a blind, sickly human child, whom he intended to prey upon to regenerate and feast, in order to fuel his one-man war against the world. The child, scared and resigned, prayed.

And thus, Hadrian remembered. Of his past pride. Of how it felt to protect others. Of how far he had fallen. He let the child go, and swore off violence, and began a journey of self discovery, throughout the reaches of the known world. Just like the Cain of the bible, he roamed aimlessly, seeking peace. Different cultures, different philosophies permeated into him, and he took up to practice martial arts and meditation to soothe his soul.

It was then when the Ventrue found him via his blood link (turns out the woman who had sired him was a Ventrue), in one of their so called adventures. Atop of the Himalayas, they enticed the old knight with the tales of the wondrous inventions of the Industrial Revolution, and the old knight got immediatly homesick. Smiling thinly, he struck a deal with the Ventrue, admiring their straightforwardness and observance of the old values, and as such he travelled once again to his homeland.

Hadrian is a patient, philosophical kind of sort. He doesn't withold information nor denies help from those who seek his company, except if said help is to further political agendas different than those of the Ventrue. He also has a taste for meditation, sparring and weapon smithing. Although he distrusts deceptive people and self-entitled people in general. Despite his overall placid attitude, it is not a wise idea to anger him by hurting anyone whom he has become fond of. With the zeal only a crusader would have, he will hunt whomever is the offender and rip him apart.

Appearance: Same as the picture. He usually dresses like a 9 year old kid to not attract attention. Whenever he's out by night he usually carries a cloak. He also has a pocket knife hidden in his clothes.

Short bio (+personality): Jack's early life was rather pitiful. Being born with uncertain parentage to a camp follower of one of the Viking warbands that settled on the country, he wasn't even granted a name and he was considered a clumsy helper at best, and an annoyance at worst. Still, his mother never shunned him, and he let him cling to her skirt as much as he wanted to. Although, one day, things changed. Her mother was on her way to meet one of her usual clients when an unknown assailant attacked her. Alarmed by her mother's screams, the little boy ran towards her mother. Some sort of man had seized her and was biting her in the neck.

Many would've run in that moment. Others would be paralyzed by fear. But knowing full well that her mother was the only thing Jack had, he unslung a small dirk he had used for turnips earlier and dug it in the creature's flesh. The attack suceeded, but the damage had been superficial at most, and under the astonishment of the little boy, the man, nay, the draugr, retrieved his knife and used it to pin his hand to the ground, alongside a kick that shattered his ribs and broke his neck.

It was then when the draugr had realized his mistake, as he hurriedly pulled the knife out of the kid, but much to his dismay, the kid was already undergoing a transformation into a vampire. Such a thing could never be allowed to exist. But he did, as Louis Ventrue intervened, having watched the "snack affair" from a distance. Impressed by the kid's guts, he decided to give him a choice, a choice many of those infected by accident didn't have.

To become one of the Ventrue's family.

The kid just smiled, and asked for a name. Jack Smith was the one he was bestowed, and despite being hurried and unoriginal, he would take pride in it. Once the deed was done, Jack became a trusty member of the Ventrue, compensating his stunted form with cunning and determination. Many who at first laughed and ridiculed him soon learnt to concede with their silence his success. On his steady ascension through the ranks, Jack picked up quite an array of skills, such as martial arts to maximize the effectiveness of his relatively weak body, and marksmanship with firearms, once they were available. He also learnt the art of deceit and sleight of hand, and he normally cultivates an innocent kid persona on purpose, in order to catch people unaware of his real intentions.

Despite his past and shrewdness, Jack is rather tolerant of failure among his peers, and he often encourages those among his ranks to do his best. Not too proud to do grunt work if need be, he nevertheless expects those around him to do the same and he often likes to teach lessons to those full of hubris.
