Awwww. :/

It's alright. We have enough people- if you want to leave, I won't hold you back. Though, I must ask, why is it that you're losing interest?

@ClocktowerEchos You just gotta sit down at some point and type and type and keep typing even if what you write down isn't exactly what you want until you're finally done, and then you go back and fix some things, and then you're still not satisfied, but at least you'll be able to RP with it - and isn't RP'ing the whole point anyway?

The "long ass NS" was actually made that absurdly long intentionally. That way, I can be sure that anyone who actually finished it was truly committed to the roleplay, and those who were not would never complete the N.S. In essence, it was a "flirty RPer" filter.

Apparently, it worked

Regardless, I encourage you to keep going with us, as I do find your people very interesting and your writing style very enjoyable to read. I think if you stick with the RP for a little while, you'll find it very rewarding compared to simply phasing in-and-out of other RPs.

Hey, @Hael, is the map on the first OOC post current? If not, could you update it to be so?

It's current, though @Ozerath has said he will soon replace the New Republic with the Commonwealth. So when you see the "New Alleghian Republic" on the map, just imagine it is the Commonwealth. Other than that, it's accurate.

I'm going to have to disagree vehemently on that. RP'S with inflexible rules concerning their sheets (which are often long) fail the majority of the time. While the rules were looser a good example of this is Interstellar Ascension, an RP that launched with most users having 5-10k sheets and one that had so much cooperative lore that I've yet to see anything similar.

It died 7 posts in.

While I don't mind making myself write stuff up, if its gone to the point that I have to force myself to do it and even that at that point I'm still not interested/willing to do it, then its pretty clear to me that I'm not having fun. Isn't having fun the reason all of us RP in one form or another?

No but seriously, I've literally been dead OOC, my NS hasn't been updated in some time and I don't even read the IC tbh. If I stick around, I'll most likely still never actually get a post up or if I do they'll be few and far between at which point I'll eventually just sort of shimmy out of existence in this RP. In short, it'd just prolong the process without actually solving the problem of my lack of interest.

Personally I already see that as my own lack of commitment which your system has weeded out. In a way I've already failed as a RPer in this RP in that sense. I just cannot see how just staying in longer will really do anything. Its not like I'm playing a major influence race tbh unless people really want me to push out a half-assed post every ye often.

Besides, even if I did have the energy to go write IC, my perpetually incomplete NS is basically preventing me from doing any such thing.

Really? I've seen the total opposite. I've been in RPs with very small sheets and loose rules that die in like 14 posts, and most RPs I see with longer sheets seem to last longer as well, because the undevoted simply don't make it into the IC.

The last RP I GMed had massive Character Sheets, and a character with a 20,000 word C.S. While I consider the R.P. to be a failure, it did manage to last until at least 40 posts in- plus, the cause of death for the RP was because I could no longer GM, and nobody else could fill the role, not because of the sheets.

In counter, Roleplays that ask little of prospective players seem to get very little in return.

It seems me and you have had opposite experiences
So let us just agree to disagree.

Honestly, though, I believe that if you stick around for a while longer, you may find your interest coming back. It's happened to me before, and often. Normally that's what I do when I lose interest in an RP- I just hang around until my interest inevitably drifts back in. It's never failed to happen, and usually I'm back in the RP after just a few days or a week. xD

Failed as an RPer? Duuuuude/giiiiiirl, don't be so harsh on yourself. You haven't failed. There are people less complete than you who are still in this thing

But very well. If you wish to go, you can. But I really like your idea, so if you change your mind at some point in the future, I'll keep a spot open for you :)

@Ozerath
The Commonwealth has made a huge mistake if they attempt to "nab Xim space".

As my N.S. (which is coming in a few hours, everyone) will show, the Xim have the weakest invasion forces in the entire galaxy (hence why they couldn't hurt the Federation and probably never will), but the strongest defense. Of all the nations, I would daresay that the Xim are the most difficult to invade.

Don't get me wrong, you could wipe out a Xim offensive like it was a mosquito, but you would get crushed if you approached one of their planets. Their ships are pathetic in every way, but more than ships defend them.

If it doesn't sound to OP of me to say this, your ships wouldn't stand a chance the moment they entered Xim space. Now, stay OUT of Xim space and you could utterly destroy anything they send at the Federation, but the moment you're on the Xim's turf, you're going to start losing badly.

Of course, I don't blame you for making that mistake, as I don't have an NS up yet. Sorry

1. You need to list the military size (i.e. 6%) in the Military Size section, not the Population section

Done.
2. History should be longer, but I'll assume you'll get on that when your PMs are answered. I'll reply later today- I'm a bit busy. (that goes for you too, Monarch

Updated based on current answers.
3. CAN I HUG THE CTHULHU BABIES? WILL I HAVE TO SIGN PAPERWORK TO DO SO?

4. Is wetware available for other nations/species? As in, does the Coalition sell this openly? What if some Xim leaders wanted Coalition wetware?

Yes.

5. Your nation is my new favorite now, I think. Just wanted you to know xD

Refer to form HC-HU65 for further displays of affection.

6. Is there any real Federal law? As in, are there any rules that ALL member states must follow? Or is it complete anarchy, in regards to what individual states may do inside their borders?

Yes. Well. No. There are custom-made rules for each member state to keep them in check, but each member state was appropriately satiated before the edicts went into effect through Adjustment Teams. Furthermore, there are three general laws: 1. Don't be unreasonable. 2. Don't destroy the Coalition without proper approval. 3. Don't attack fellow Coalition members.

The third law has been interpreted to mean that no Coalition member may be captured for the purposes of enslavement within Coalition space unless local law says otherwise.

7. How does the Coalition view most other nations? Do they see them as unreasonable or too restrictive of member states, or do they simply not care? Has the number of strays and cast-offs picked up from other nations tainted their views of said nations?

The cast-offs have colored Coalition's stereotypes of other nations, but that's just the stereotypes. If the Coalition has contact with the civilization in question, most people can see past that sort of thing.

Haha, well they aren't "invincible", just more difficult to conquer than any other nation. You'd have better luck fighting the Coalition, the Ch'ak, or literally anyone else. It might sound over-the-top, but I firmly believe that this is balanced out evenly by the inability of the Xim to take down any other nations. But if they want to, they could just sit there for years and years while you tire yourselves out trying to claim even a small portion of their territory. But likewise, you could sit and laugh while thousands of Xim vessels are slaughtered as soon as they reach your territory.

It is unlikely the will ever conquer even an inch of the weakest nation's territory. It is also unlikely even an inch of their territory will be conquered. A fair trade-off, if I do say so myself

But yes... we'll see :P

The Xim are kind of all of those things, and kind of none of them.

I mean, they are sorta expansionist because they invaded the Federation, but sorta not because Earth was already in their territory.

They're sorta genocidal because they modify species until they're exactly the same as the Xim (and thus don't really exist anymore), but sorta not because they would never militarily destroy an entire species- just modify them.

They sorta believe they're perfect in the sense that they WILL be perfect in the future, but they sorta don't because they don't believe they are perfect as they currently are.

They sorta have a homeplanet because the species that created the Xim Initiative (the Kreestack) have a homeplanet, but they sorta don't because the Kreestack long ago stopped existing as they modified themselves so much that no completely Kreestack DNA is still around.

Ah, Xim. The lords of 'kinda-sorta'.

Oh, I don't know about that. Yeah, Ch'ak is literally only a single system. But if anyone tries to invade that system they'd have to deal with almost the entire Ch'ak'ii military, and if anyone attempted to invade with their entire military it'd leave them totally open.

But hey, we don't know for certain unless this happens IC anyway. So hey, whatever.

Hmm.

Your point is well taken.

Fine, the Xim are harder to invade than anyone BUT the Ch'ak'ii.
